I am super excited that you guys have reached the Originals arc, it's a ride. Also the in depth discussion on why decapitation would kill a vampire is great, when the rest of us just accept it as common vampire folklore. As someone who has all the answers, it's very entertaining watching you guys parse through and make guesses on what is happening.
This is one of my favorite episodes in tvd. We meet Elijah, meet Rose, Damon’s love confession/giving Elena the necklace, and we hear about The Originals/Klaus. I love the Damon and Elena scene bc when you think about it, there was so much going on but Damon saw the necklace and realized it was Elenas. Despite everything that went on with Elijah he took the time to pick it up and return it to her. Also, him compelling her to forget takes off any pressure that she may feel with the knowledge of his confession. The tear in his eye and what he says always gets me 😢. Elijah had such a good entrance bc the way Rose and Trevor were acting and talking about him, you feel that he’s intimidating. He also has this calm demeanor but then quickly just killed Trevor. To top it off, we see him still alive in the end despite having a stake in his heart. I was cracking up when you guys said Elijah looked small at the door 😭😂 I cannot wait to see your reactions to the rest of the season and all the characters/storylines that are coming.
Yeah, that scene between Damon and Elena broke my heart the first time I saw it. No offense to the Stelena shippers, but I liked Damon better from the beginning (maybe because I read the books first), so I was rooting for them to get together. This scene gave me hope that even though Elena was angry with Damon for "killing" Jeremy, she had regained enough caring for Damon that she was willing to listen to him.

@@Kayjee17 yeah nah i find it disgusting that it’s his brothers girlfriend and he knows no respect or boundaries. I do like Damon tho I just find elena the worst thing about both brothers
@@frontlines9356 Elena is the best thing that could have happened for Damon and Stefan. She's the one and only thing that brought both of them together and led to them regaining the brotherly bond they had before Katherine destroyed them. Elena in season 1 and 2 did a lot of work to get them past their anger towards each other, but then it became them trying to save all of their friends in Mystic Falls that kept it going. If they hadn't met Elena, they would have stayed angry and alone, possibly forever. As for Elena, I liked her in the first 2 seasons, but the writers made her a damsel in distress combined with her tendency to insist things be done her way and it's often a disaster that screws her up in season 3, etc. The book Elena is more like tv show Caroline after she's a vampire, which is why I like her, and even when she's kinda being a privileged brat, she's still strong and has a lot of courage.
Drinking vervain doesn’t completely make a tolerance against it, it just gives you tolerance to a certain amount and you won’t pass out instantly. On the outer skin, it has the same effect.
The highlights for me: -Elijah's bad ass entrance and not being dead after he was staked - You guys comparing Klaus to the Klaus played by Robert Sheehan. Nah this one is superior. - Damon's confession to Elena. "I don't deserve you, but my brother does." *Song in the background. -"I was wrong.."

You know why Damon make Elena Forget because it was for the first time after so many centuries that he realized that "STEFAN loves him and he love him as much Stefan do" He doesn't want to hurt Stefan's feelings anymore he just want to say "I Love You" for once so that he can forget and move on. DEFAN for life ❤❤
that scene with damon and elena was the exact episode i started shipping them. it’s the fact that damon can own up to being the bad guy of the show while also putting aside his feelings to give his brother the happiness he deserved regardless of what stefan did to him & to allow elena the .. happiness she will have with stefan. love your reactions.
@@Naahi95 did we watch the same show? damon put his feelings aside quite a few times. and bohoo. he wanted the girl and he got her. simple as that. quit dickriding stefan as if he’s a fucking saint.
Seeing Bonnie and Jeremy this episode warms my heart! Jeremy needs a good influence for him after what he went through with the loss of Vicki and Anna.
This was the perfect tvd episode for "April fool's day " loved the way Elijah fooled Rose into thinking that she and Trevor were fully out of danger , though I feel sorry for her

Non-spoilers because I'm reading from my notes from my first time watching: Yes, as Elijah demonstrated, the Originals are stronger than the average vampire. A detail I think you guys missed is Elijah is a man of his word - he said to Rose *you* are forgiven, but he didn't say anything about Trevor. He seems to stick to his agreements exactly as they are worded, so that's something to remember. Elijah was also interested in Katherine, the moonstone, and now Elena; but why? And he seems to be authorized to speak for Klaus, so what kind of arrangement or relationship do they have? BTW - you guys kept saying Tyler when you were talking about Trevor. No big deal since Trevor is dead, but I found it amusing because TVD introduces so many different characters I had trouble keeping up with them too on my first watch. I agree, it would be for the best to get Tyler as a part of Team Goodguys. Having werewolf power to fight other bad vampires would be an advantage, not to mention them helping him to be locked up on the full moon and not a threat (like when Mason had to go to his truck and got out) would be good for everyone in town. In this case, Caroline has the right idea and Damon should listened to her. I think Damon quietly listening to Stefan's apology without giving an angry or snarky answer is a step in the right direction. I also think that Damon went with Stefan to protect him as much as he went to rescue Elena. The fact that he told Elena that Stefan deserved her was proof that Damon has forgiven his brother, even if he isn't ready to say it out loud yet. The fact that he admitted he loves Elena but doesn't deserve her shows how much he's grown from the person he was when he loved Katherine, and it also shows that he understands how different Elena is from Katherine. Hopefully, Damon will continue to try to be a better person because of his love for Elena and his caring for his brother. Finally, Rose told Elena that she and Trevor were running for the last 500 years. Stefan figured out that Katherine was running from someone too. Elijah asked Rose if she had Katherine to trade. Coincidence? Or did Elijah know Katherine in the past? Or, since Elijah seems to be working for Klaus, does Klaus want Katherine for some reason? I guess we'll find out eventually...
The Head decapitation is Lore that you just get behind. You were also partly right, normal humans cannot decapitate a head, that easy. So a stake through the heart, that has been Whittled properly is plausible for humans. I guess that's what makes it the easy way to kill them. Also they are magical creatures, ways of killing them doesn't always have to make sense. Through the seasons we learn more about body part decapitations. Rose
Guys the o my reason kathrine could build a tolerance to vervain is because vervain does not kill vampires it only weakens them. You can’t build up a tolerance to something that kills you. Like I can build up a tolerance to the pain of getting a tattoo but not a tolerance to getting shot in the head
from what we've seen so far, there are a few ways to for sure kill a vampire, one is being in the sun without a daylight ring, one is a wooden stake through the heart, the other as shown this episode with Trevor, is by beheading. Vampire's have regenerate abilities, but by Elijah's certainty and Rose's anguish, clearly beheading is NOT something that a vampire can come back from. And Aqeel and Aiden are right, clearly even though beheading is a way to kill a vampire, they are super durable, so it would take considerable strength to render their head from their bodies, something a normal human couldn't hope to do. However, we also know that Elijah is an original vampire, and he survived the biggest stake to the heart to date, so clearly there is something about the originals that we don't know, but it IS evident that an original clearly CANNOT be killed by a wooden stake to the heart, like a regular vampire. It just adds to the air of mystery and absolute dominion they have, I love it!
also wood renders the magic that allows vampires to exist null, which is why vampires can be seriously hurt, and slow to heal when they have wood imbedded like in their arms, or legs. Back when carol shot damon with those wooden bullets he was out for HOURS, so you can't build a wood tolerance. Vervain can't kill a vampire no matter how much you use, it can only severely torture them. You can hurt them to the brink of death, but vervain alone will never be enough to do the job. wood is something that again nulls the magic that allows vampire's to exist, this is just implied by the context clues from everything we've seen so far.
elijah my husband is here!!! i love his character so much, the originals plot is unreal super anxious for the next reactions!!! also the delena scene like unreal, it was so beautiful, they are insane for this, love them so much💗
Ironic how you guys mentioned Klaus from The Umbrella Academy being a vampire considering the actor of Klaus and Nathan places a vampire (Simon Lewis) in “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” movie. Really good movie I recommend it even though the Tv show was top tier (Sadly Robert Sheehan isn’t in the show though)
Elijah is way faster than Damon and Stefan the weapons gave them the Advantage did you how fast Elijah got back up compared to Stefan after he pushed him down the stairs
It's a matter of mood for me. I'm a goner for Klaus, but there are days when characters like Elijah in a spotless suit is exactly what a girl needs 🤷🏻♀️
With the Bennett bloodline every person has ancestors and so yes she was the most powerful Bennett witch so far we just know because of grams and her book but Emily Bennett had to have a mother so we don't actually know how far the Bennett bloodline goes back as of right now

A guy who plays on several varsity teams and works put 3 times a week and runs 4 times a week.... I do not think it is sexiest he is surprised a 100 pound girl is 3x stronger then him.... Especially after he activated the werewolf curse and is many many times stronger then humans... How is that sexist?? You seem to forget Caroline had Stephan show her and teach her... Tyler has no idea what is happening besides turning to wolf. He doesn't know about how fast he heals or his strength or anything... Caroline seems to know though and then when he asks she goes idk what your talking about....
omg I'm back to watch elijah's entrance. and since you know about the originals, the show, I suggest you give it a try. I will say not 100% of the vampire diaries' viewers enjoy it, not for everyone. But once you become emotionally attached to the original family, it becomes much more enjoyable, dare I say, than the vampire diaries.
When fans openly obsess over all the villains it creates expectations and spoilers and I wish they wouldn’t always comment about that. When we watched it for the first time we want them dead and now people are like ‘ahh the love of my life’ and shit lol 🙄
Yeah I agree... I've always said this, saying stuff like that when a character is introduced is like a passive-aggressive spoiler... Yes, you are not giving specifics but you are spoiling the overall arch of the character and what to expect from him/she... It happens a lot in this show, starting with Damon from episode 1 and people commenting on how the reactor should or would fell about him, also with Katherine, now Elijah, Klaus, etc. etc. etc... This kinds of comments can shape the reactor's view towards a character, if we basically spoil a character's "redemption arc" by saying how good he is and how much they are going to love him, then the reactor is going to be expecting it, modifying their views on each character's actions, always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I see your point but people can still love a good villain without making it a spoiler. I mean look at Katherine. I liked her from 1x22 watching it the first time
why can't people understand a simple thing that if they enjoyed TVD it was just because nobody was there to give them spoilers. These people spoil fun for reactors and even for the audience. "Comment regarding their reaction or the episode why you have to spoil everything?" IT MAKES ME REALLY SAD AND ANGRY
Make an effort to post reaction videos on TVD on a daily basis. This vampire diaries has seven series, each with nearly 20 episodes. If you don't, it will take nearly a year or two to finish reacting to the entire series. Anyway, fantastic reactions. 🙂🙂🙂
