What Stefan did went beyond protecting. Caroline had already left, Tyler wasn't going to go after her or anything. Stefan acted wrongly out of his friendship with Caroline.
I am so glad you guys understand and empathize with Tyler's anger. People tend to bypass it when Klaus hasn't done anything to redeem himself towards these people, even a little bit, and it's so annoying when people glorify him.
I don't understand how y'all blame Caroline, Tyler have a right to be mad becuz someone very close to him slept with his mom killer.... But Tyler was the one who leave Caroline and choose revenge over her,they already broke up many episodes ago

I'm genuinly curious what did Caroline do that makes her so bad to you guys? I've seen loads of reactors that likes her without watching upcoming seasons so what is YOUR issue with her?
I think mainly that she criticizes too much, mostly Damon... And they like Damon and they like the chaos that Damon and other characters, like Enzo, bring to the show; so they probably don't like a character that's overly critical of the bad behavior which is entertaining for them... So, it is (IMO) an entertainment issue mainly; because in moral terms or in terms of the story, there is really not much reason to "hate" her, given that she is almost entirely right in the things she "complaints" about.
@@Alewaxon I understand this but I just don't get people hating characters for hating characters that I love but I KNOW are problematic! I myself don't usually agree with Caroline but I know where she's coming from since Damon did her so wrong!! even if I don't see her side of things, I would just enjoy her banter with Damon and move on...also they are judging people for liking Caroline like it's "normal" to hate her!!
I haven’t watched the show in a while im not sure where I left off I think it’s when the double of Stephan shows up around there but yeah i don’t not care what type of development Caroline gets or if Tyler ever forgives her for that I will never understand or forgive Caroline I like her as a chart but I will never forgive her for what she did to tyler and yes (elana not sure if I spelt her name correctly) and Damon are in the same boat Damon for all the things he did and elana for getting with him idc if they broke up u should not fk your friends mom’s murderer I feel like most people who have a brain would agree with Tyler I personally thought he should have fought Caroline as there both supernatural and she can take a beating I wouldn’t kill her but she definitely deserves to get fked up
Even if you like a character you need to acknowledge how bad they are, it's annoying how you'll root for Damon when you kinda hate someone like Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline.... You don't have to like them, you have to understand them too.... What Katherine said about Damon was true , Elena can't be with Damon knowing he would take it out on someone and kill them whenever they had a fight or breaking up..... This is exactly what he always do, He blame Katherine for all the things he did even Vicki death... Stefan may have a bloodlust or he killed people more than Damon but The difference between Stefan and Damon is, Stefan choose to be good , his heart is pure, after everything his girlfriend and his brother did to him he wish his brother happiness while still love that girl, If Stefan was the one who love his brother girl Damon would kill Stefan or make him suffer in other way, it's not about the Body count and that is why Stefan is the better person......... Damon is no better than the 'Katherine' he despite, the difference is Damon has people who loves him and to give him many chance no matter what he did
I agree with everything except damn killing Stefan. That’s the one thing he just wouldn’t do for Elena. He still could’ve killed Stefan even if it was or wasn’t his girl.
It’s a show, not that deep but it’s interesting how people in the comments will focus on Damon, call him “needy”, call him “co-dependent” but those same people had nothing to say about the other brother. Just picking and choosing when certain behavior is bad depending on which character does it. Since nobody else has mentioned it, I will 😁 Stefan in 3x19: “no matter what I go through, fighting my blood lust, trying to gain control of my life again, none of that matters if she has feelings for somebody else” Stefan in 4x7 “I just want to rip into someone’s artery and feed until I can’t breathe anymore”, turns a guy, and forces Jeremy to stake him all bc Elena broke up with him Stefan in 5x4: says “the hunger returned” bc Elena tells him that she’s dating Damon and then he goes and bites Jesse His behavior/blood lust being dependent on how she feels about him and him feeling like fighting isn’t worth it if she doesn’t want him hmm…
I'm sorry but that's a false equivalence... Trying to equate the amount of times that Stefan depended on Elena to behave himself or to "anchor" him VS the amount of times Damon needs it... Which is 100% of the time almost... Even those situations you listed have caveats; starting with that fact that in almost all of those situations Stefan actually got thru it BY HIMSELF or without Elena's hand holding or BECAUSE OF Elena... He might've said that in 3x19, but he did it anyways still knowing that Elena has feelings for Damon, so that one falls down... In 4x07 and the situation with the cure wasn't "just because Elena broke up with him", and you know it (or should know it) it was also because Elena was miserable as a vampire and now that the cure was a possibility he wanted that for him... And 5x04, Stefan literally had no memories, like, the context of that situation is WAY different; and guess what, when he got back to being himself, his actions or behaviors weren't affected or dictated by what Elena did or was presently doing, it was his PTSD So no, it is a false equivalence... This behavior from Damon ISN'T NEW and ISN'T RARE... it happens EVERY TIME he hits a bump in the road with Elena and he encounters any minor inconvenience... And, FYI, we are almost 6 seasons deep into Damon's "character development" and it is still happening... That's why it can be argued, quite successfully, that Damon's (almost) entire arc is defined or revolving around Elena and that he has very little character development that can be 100% assigned to himself... And it has been a mayor criticism of Damon character every since the show was aired, for a very good reason... And pretending that Stefan is just as dependent on Elena's approval or judgement in order to act like a half decent human being by naming a handful of out of context lines, that actually Stefan ended up resolving by himself or without direct "supervision" from Elena, it's just a HUGE stretch... Like, you know damn well that, for example, Damon doesn't really care or gives a fuck that he killed Aaron, he just regrets it in future episodes BECAUSE ELENA IT'S GOING TO GET MAD AT HIM, same with killing innocent Witmore's, same with many other bad deeds that he really only regrets or worries about because of what Elena would think of him... Not always, not 100% of the time and every situation, but most of it... That's quite different from Stefan's constant state of self punishment and regret for the things he does (same, not always, but most of the time)

Damon is back to his bad boy self. I prefer him this way. Him and Enzo killing and being generally badass is my favourite thing. Enzo is good for the show, he sort of takes the position Alaric did for Damon - the bromance. Katherine, I love you so much! Even though Stefan came to Caroline’s defense, I personally still didn’t see Tyler as the bad guy. Tyler is a hot head, he’s always been. The fact that he also didn’t retaliate and hit Stefan back shows he knew why Stefan punched him. I respect that.

Wow, how many times does a dead person totally dominate an hour show? Lol It was deliciously Katherine Pierce all 42 minutes. Nina was beyond fantastic acting in this episode. I hope she got some kind of award for this season. Damon is back to his evil ways. This is good. Also, dat chemistry with Stefan and Caroline.
Katherine is so cringy in s5. Girl was so desperate for attention that she didn't even care if Stefan calls her Elena after she possessed her body. People's standards must be really low if they think she's a good character after these episodes🥴
i can't remember if this is true or not, but i think the whole "universe driving doppelgangers together" thing doesn't matter anymore at this point in the narrative because the whole point of it was to drive killable versions of silas and amara (elena/katherine doppelganger) together.
Why would Bonnie just leave and not tell people that Katherine didn't pass through her? And why didn't Elena snap the witch's neck to stop the whole ritual? It's getting harder and harder to keep watching this season. Nothing that anybody does makes any sense
They make the clue-cracking characters (Bonnie and Jeremy) disappear so they can leave a gaping hole for their newest weakest plot. You don't invite Nancy Drew when you're staging a big mystery for everyone to solve.

Damon in season 5 is my least favourite. I can get past what he did in season 2 (killing Jeremy) because it was a moment of madness, he wasn't thinking then. Here he had plenty of time to think of how to hurt Elena. It's a toxic relationship
In terms of the doppelganger thing, As much as I like them together, Katherine isn't Stefan's doppelganger match. Each doppelganger is in the same time period as each other so in the 1500's there would have been a "Stefan" somewhere for Kat and in the 1800's there would've been a " Katherine" one for Stefan, we just didn't see them.

I agree Katlena's heart felt talk with Damon was brutal, but Damon knows nothing she said was incorrect or a lie. He just didn't expect it from Elena and of course it wasn't. It proved to me I've been right all along...Damon truly hasn't really changed, it's only an act to keep the girl and get what he wants. Elena needs to realize (when she gets control of her body back) that she's being used as a humanity anchor by Damon.
I think Katherine did not pass through Bonnie because at that point she is just a human and only the supernatural pass through Bonnie. So they have no reason to think that anything is wrong because Katherine was never supposed to pass through Bonnie (this is just a theory, but I think that they mess it up that theory later on in the show but I can’t explain it without spoiling future episodes for you guys)
She's still considered supernatural even in human form because she's a doppelganger. So it makes sense that she would end up going to the other side. Like Elena was supernatural before she even became a vampire (when she killed Alaric and he came back by the ring since it was a supernatural death).

With the Bonnie's thing... It is okay if she doesn't say anything abouth Katherine because Katherine could be just walkling around for another decade before going throuth Bonnie she doesn't have to go as soon as she die, she could be hiding or evoiding Bonnie just because. It only gets crazier from here. I liked Aaron and I’m sad he got killed. I do like the duo of Enzo and Damon, at some point though you’ll see the error of Damon’s ways. As far as Caroline goes, I think there is a justification for her actions. What Klaus does, is what he does, and if she’s no longer with Tyler she can do whatever she wants. Tyler hasn’t shown any desire to be with her, so why does he now care what she does?

Yeah, you are right about bonnie and damon, but Stefan is moral, compassionate, heartbroken,a ripper, fun, he's a mixture of everything. He's an amazing character. And yes Tyler is the victim here undoubtedly and Caroline is overrated. The female characters I like are Rebekah and Katherine. Not elena Or Caroline.

Katherine was right about what she said to her breakup with Damon. He shouldn’t depend on anyone to make him “good” and it’s not Elena’s responsibility to. That’s the issue I have with their relationship. -That being said, I’m enjoying Katherine. She’s definitely making this crappy season better. -I can understand Tyler being upset to an extent, but it is what it is. He left her so 🤷🏽♀️ she can be with whoever she wants.
