It hurt them because they were siphon witches, it also hurt Bonnie because she was a Bennett witch, the tuning fork was made to weaken witches with a sound that hurts a witch, I'm not quite sure why it hurts the sirens, but probably because they can control people with a siren song, kinda like how a witch can cast a spell.

I think that Josie and Lizzie are what these "siren" sisters want since the little girls reactions to the fork was just like the siren's... and it would make sense if the siren has a sister... then in case something happens they keep passing the mantle and mission on to magical twin sisters.

If that weapon affects the girls and Sybil but not anyone else does that mean there's a connection between witches and sirens? Or does it affect all supernatural beings the same. Also remember of all the supernatural beings on this show only the witches would have existed at the same time as Sybil. I'm thinking perhaps they had something to do with her capture its a shame Bonnie doesn't have her powers because a witch is probably the only thing that can put Sybil down. Also if all sirens had that weird mind control thing it might explain why witches are immune to compulsion perhaps they created a means to defend themselves against sirens.

Obviously not all supernatural beings because both Stefan and Damon have been in the vicinity of hearing that pitch(Damon when Sybil was put down and Stefan when he was torturing Sybil with it) and they didn't get affected by it at all.

Katarina Petrova OMG Katarina, remember when she was SHOCKED to see Alaric using that weapon against her. Either because she's shocked from what she saw or because she knows it's her sis that they are fight. If you recall, this girl did say she did go hell or the mark she has is also from hell. Fuck knows, but seline is human. If she was a supernatural being Caroline could not compel her in the first place.

It could be more of a case where she was marked when she died as some sort of failsafe for the sirens because she may be a relative of some sort but was born without the siren power or something meh guess we will find ouy soon enough lol

Why did it only work against the Twins and Sybil..? Alaric used it radius of 4 vampires, a witch(powers or not she's still supernatural) and it only worked on Sybil..

Why does the weapon hurt the girls but not any of the other characters? Stefan and Alaric have both heard the ring when they were torturing Sybil in the armory with it and they were fine. Is it because Josie and Lizzie are kids?
