I just watched this movie for the first time and am blown away by how good it was. Its been a while since I've seen something that captivated me so much. 10/10 movie for me.

it's definitely a 10/10 movie, but I can't stand it. Nothing can make me watch it again.

@@kylesparks1826 The US version is really good. It has Keifer Sutherland and Jeff Bridges.

Love your channel. These concise but accurate film breakdowns are incredibly fun to watch. I first watched Spoorloos a few years ago, and I've always been very taken aback by it, especially that ending! I've been meaning to rewatch it, and this video is a sign! I'll grab the Criterion Collection Blu-ray as soon as possible and dive back into this one! Thanks again for the video!

Jeff Bridges movie of the vanishing was friggin scary. I loved it, and it’s so disturbing because these psychos walk the streets today.

I think the term golden egg was referred to the fire from the lighter(there is also a dialogue about it) and the second egg might have been referred to Rex trying to attain the same fate as Sasika. Anyways a true masterpiece.

One of my favorite movies. The Hollywood version is not so good imo, especially because they changed the ending drastically which i am not going to spoil. First watch this version before the Hollywood version i would advice. Greetings from The Netherlands.

The book is even better, it's more detailed and the movie skips a lot of the storie. Like the reason why the killer did what he did. He also did good things in his life, and that's why he also wanted to do had things, thuss kill. The golden egg itself also has a whole meaning, that's downplayed in the movie

@Mohammed-qr6gq het gouden ei is the title in Dutch. It isn't a big book but it's good enough to convey the full story. Maybe the English translation is The Golden Egg
