I’ve clocked 2000 miles on the odometer of my 16 X the season and I figured I would slap together a video with my random thoughts about it. Some things I wish I knew about before purchasing. Purchased March 2021.
This is the most reliable, bombproof wheel on planet earth. It was my starter wheel, and have crashed it in ways that would destroy most other EUC's. To this day, even now having 3 other wheels, it's my favorite EUC. It's probably the tourque-iest wheel you can buy in terms of off-the-line quickness. For me I could care less about top speed (if they could bump the top speed to 35 mph, that's about the fastest I would ever want to go on an EUC). You can't really go wrong with the 16x.
I noticed the same Bluetooth audio connection you have while charging. If you hit the power button twice, once to power on and second to turn off- the Bluetooth turns off too! As a solo rider in the country most the time, this wheel really rocks my socks. Its only when I'm going from point A to B on a 35mph+ road, dealing with traffic and blind corners that I wish I could have another tier of speed for evasive maneuvers.
Very Happy with my 16X. Agree with what you say. I use EUC World and a Pebble Watch. I ride without Pads. Build quality is good and I have yet to have a problem with it. Bigger wheels are just that - heavier. The S20 Eagle has my attention if I wanted to go that way.
Great review - I opted for the Nik 100v when the V-11 was out of stock ... haven't had any issues at all after 1400 miles ... and yeah that speed limit was a concern with the V-11 which is similar to your 16X, so in hindsight I'm glad the dealer was out of stock ... I likely won't reach the Nik top speed of 42mph anytime soon but good advice ... currently I find myself cruising in the mid 20's and eventually will reach for 30 ... probably will be just fine there and with that extra headroom the Nik offers. And I agree, the LED's add a cool factor to the wheel.
The Nikola will absolutely do 65kmh and still be fairly stable, but it won't feel great. When I know I'll have to cruise at 50kmh, I take my MSuper v3S+. True it is older, but it feels really nice at those speeds with fairly low tire pressure (35psi) and I feel I have less work to do vs a Nikola or any 16 incher for that matter.
I took my 16x in the middle of season, and yes, there was no other options. I totally agree with you about speed, the faster you are, it feels more sketchy. But maybe this is all about rider technique. This is definitely good hill climber and off-road wheel, because of good clearance and torque. This is my first wheel, i feel happy with it. 16x is golden compromise, kind of crossover. Constant compromise - endless sacrifice.) Buut it depends on your point of view.
Do you have any idea why my 16x show 0.3a while charging even with one or two charger.. And when its about %75 its ok 1.5amps or 3amps with twice charger
Thanks to 16" tire and powerful motor, it's literally one of the torquiest wheels on the planet right now in terms of pull power. Stronger even than Sherman Max, Monster Pro, etc. It's also rated for 150 kg / 330 lbs, so it's a great starter wheel for heavier riders.
I'm waiting on my 16x now. It should be here by 5/30. I'm a truck driver so I'm just looking for something to get around on while I'm stopped for the evening or even on the weekends when I have the extra time. After doing almost a years worth of research it seemed like the 16x fit my needs better than any other. I looked at the V12 and it was just way too heavy for me to get up and down from the cab of my truck. I almost went with the Nikola but I heard that the shell was a little weak. The 16x seems to be the right combination of power and speed in a more compact and lightweight package. Great video everything you said about this wheel is right on par with what everyone else is saying about it. Besides I already have a Dualtron Ultra 2 so that is my speed demon. 😂
@@ProGamingProphecy It's nice to have a little extra transportation isn't it? Besides, I noticed that since I can get around better I feel healthier and more energetic. I'm a LP at Carroll Fulmer, who do you drive for?
@@ionflow1073 I worked a few years, then left the industry for about a year. I was taken in by CRETE CARRIER with the compromise of having to train with a mentor for 2-3 weeks.
@PROGAMINGPROPHECY yeah I pretty much followed the same path as you. I got my CDL in 1997 and a few years later my life got a little wired- to put it mildly. I ended up losing my CDL in 2003. I decided to give it another try in 2016 and it seems to be working out pretty good this time around. I guess I had to live and learn, right?
@aviationgrade It happens. BTW, if you needed an EUC Unicycle for commuting purposes during 10HR resets or waiting for a pre-plan, would you still go with the KS-16X, or would you upgrade, even tho the other options are heavier? How long has your current KS-16X lasted you? Still works? (I currently have the KS-16X in my cart ready for purchase, I still haven't committed. I wanted to hear your thoughts first since we work for the same industry).
I did!! Funny story, I took it for one ride and the seat FLEW off in a crowded intersection. I had to circle back and pick it up, it was super embarrassing. I didn’t really use the seat after that.
