Hey! I wanted to highlight a matter in regards to a company called "sweet baby" that personally upsets me on multiple levels, and I believe the fans should know the truth and hypocrisy behind ubisoft's worst character, evie. This is a lesser known situation that bothers me as a huge assassin's creed fan. Essentially, assassin's creed syndicate was largely finished before the inclusion of evie as a playable character. As in, the game only featured Jacob frye. Here's where things get hypocritical. The games lead writer is a gay man called Jeffery Yohalem, and he lead AC brotherhood, and worked on many other AC games as well. He had always written about various demographics, but this time with syndicate, Jacob frye was a bisexual man, similar to how Jeffery is a gay man. Now, you'd think that this was "inclusive" enough for Kim belair, who herself got a writing role on the project "late into development" by her own words. But spoiler, it wasn't enough for her and her buddies. You see, syndicate was right before Kim belair left to head her own company "sweet baby." It didn't matter that a man of a minority group wanted to write atleast one game about his own minority demographic. To Belair, anything white and male is "privileged" and therefore, she and others such as Melissa, were behind undermining Jacob as a character, shoehorning evie into the game as a "twin protagonist" despite that not being the original plan at all. Kim belair got what she wanted, but of course it wasn't enough, and so she then joined the "AC sisterhood" where she voiced that she felt annoyed that people were telling her the games main character is Jacob, and she said "we can change what people think, and if people think evie was supposed to be the main character, then she'll become the main character." This is highly hypocritical as she talks about inclusion, yet she fights to remove and undermine a minority group simply because they are white and male as well. We see this trend continue as all of the gay/bisexual male playable characters are now "none canon" or in Jacob's case, forced to share their game with evie as she is constantly pushed to replace him as a soul protagonist. But this is also interesting, as all the claims that literally every single female character was "the original intended protagonist" have no evidence to back them up at all, and it fits right into Kim belair's claim that telling people evie was planned would make her popular, and to some level she was right, unfortunately. It appears the same tactics have been used for Aya, Kassandra and Eivor as well. Eivor is even a unisex name, and yet these people have everyone thinking it is a woman's name only. Kim belair also went on to admit she worked on the home base and certain notes in the game AC valhalla. This is significant because the only times Kassandra and female were "canon" at the games launch were due to in game notes, and an obvious head swap of a hidden optional cinimatic where Odin as an old man was supposed to appear, but in the final game he has female eivor's head. (Yes I'm serious, crazy right?) I don't want game devs to feel they have to force into their storylines lgbtq men, women, or ethnic minorities or anything. That said, as a gay man myself, I feel frustrated that my minority group has been victim of real gatekeeping by the very group sweet baby and their associates, while they tell the world that they are fighting for diversity!? They are hypocritical and they lie. I think the truth about the hypocrisy that created the 2D terrible character that is evie frye, should be exposed. And I think that it's time games just went back to being just that. Games, that are made to be fun and none political. I hope you took the time to read this all, and if you did, I'm thankful. I've been bullied and abused, and I even have an online stalker who has been gaslighting me for around 3 years now! All because I said it was wrong to remove the only representation a minority group has, in favour of the ever growing list of female representation.
I miss futuristic gameplay these days, the fun of AC is the past. But it would be nice to be able to use modern, hidden technologies like a teleportation machine and explore countries nowadays.
When people were complaining about Aiden from Watch Dogs being too boring and has no personality, I was so annoyed. Like bro, he's a killer with no life and no offspring. They keep having these characters so joyful and happy and they go on to kill hundreds of people in the game. Do you realize you're asking to play a psychopath character?
@David-nq8cv I didn't really want to reply, but I just found this interesting. First off, the no life you say and what I say have totally different meanings, like, read the context. Secondly, why'd you say "seems like" instead of "I think", hm? You're not the creator. And then you start with "no life?" Kinda full of sarcasm. And then you put your own meaning to what I said about him having no life, granted it's subjective, but you put no effort in even understanding it. I don't know if those are just easy tells, or people are just that transparent on the internet.
@David-nq8cv Lol, right... nothing else, huh 😂 You just randomly said what you said. Of course, people will get defensive. But dang people really be themselves on the internet.
@gimmeyourrights8292 you have worse reading comprehension than him, he wasn't referring to others but as if that was his defense about him to them, and by your name you lack on being humane Mr schizo
Honestly playimg as Marcus in the 2nd game was soo jarring cause he doesn't seem like the person to just kill people so i ended up only using the stun weapons 😂
This is one of my favorite releases that I would really like to experience from Ubisoft. This outfit, this theme... is really Assassin's Creed and can help the Syndicate a lot
@@filezzowski hexe won't be anything like victory, especially considering the setting is still somewhat medieval in hexe, and the team making it don't have the creativity that the victory/syndicate team had.
Maxwell Roth should've been the main antagonist of Syndicate. The emotional and philosophical challenges he poses to Jacob are some of the juiciest bits of conflict we get in the game. I wish we got more of him :(
aside from the absolutely HILARIOUS drop at 1:09 (which reminds me of the no-death-from-fall mechanic in ac odyssey) this is one of the best videos on your channel, showing us that the tone of syndicate was really the main issue in the game. and i do agree with the whole willy wonka-esque tone you mentioned. it was just way too goofy for a game that could have capitalised on the dark and grimy aspect of the industrial revolution
I truly think if Victory stayed the same as it was leaked, alongside Unity's parkour, it could've been one of my favorite games of the series. Hell, I think it could've topped Unity if that were the case, hopefully Kotaku releases the Victory footage someday..or someone leaks an early build of it. Great video though, makes me want to reinstall Syndicate and play with that mod❤
@@David-nq8cvI agree so much. I couldn't play this game because the story was so off putting and the characters were so dumb. Especially the villain and the unnecessary cutscenes.
This is what Assassin's Creed is supposed to be. Many times I've been convinced that Syndicate was a bad game with janky gameplay, but every now and then when you upload a Syndicate video and see an actual good ac player play the game, my mind is changed bro you make this game incredible
I can't belive I had never seen this before. Damn you Ubisoft, it looked so damn good. With a few ajustments to both the character of Jacob and a bit more polish this could have been a masterpiece. I really like the aesthetic and the concept of the mission (but the player was terrible at stealth). I still would have made the grapeling hook only a horizontal method of travel instead of making it also vertical. The horizontal use wuld be good because the buildings in the streets of London are too far apart and it would have been a nice tool but using it vertically just feels a bit wrong. I still think it makes sense using it vertically because after all the Assassin Brotherhood should evolve through time and if they had a tool that required them to scale less it makes sense that they would use it.
Dude i think we AC players shared the same braincell; today i suddenly wanted to redownload AC Syndicate and while waiting for it i saw this vid on my youtube home lmao Seriously thanks for uploading this vid. I was a member of the discord community of AC Victory for some months until it suddenly disappeared, i thought i was removed for some violations (i dont know what) but now that i read the nexusmod page i think i can piece together what happened. I hope the modder is alright but at least we get this version; even if it was unfinished.
@@AltairStealth yes u need to and even try so many black flag 2 ac rouge and ac rouges Templar order ac black flag and young Ezio for ac rev and Shay for ac unity pls do it 😁
If this game ever gets a remaster (which lets face it, ubi most likely will for the ps 10,000/xbox) they need give us this outfit and and allow us to wear the hood up when not crouching. I’m sure there are other grips but those have always been my big ones
Syndicate > Unity I liked both of them. I was hyped for Unity and I love doing Parkour across Paris. However, London is fascinating. The setting and atmosphere are captivating.
Truth be told I do wish Ubisoft did stick with Arno for a little bit longer as they did plan at first. Who knows, maybe he would eventually end up in London somehow, tho I do wish they would make rope more like it works in Dying Light 2 than a straight-up grappling hook which pull the character right into a rooftop or across several buildings
Like they can always go back to him I don’t see the issue why not if you wanna get technical story isn’t over they could have added more if they wanted to there are many ways they could have continued it But definitely disappointing they did not continue Paris was fun Like if they wanted could be said for Shay cool idea but went nowhere Though it’s possible it was shoed in cuz the Templar story felt like a reversed role not given much though especially considering it was created less then a year
I've been replaying the game on PC since it was free last month and I've definitely been enjoying it, they've really did well with the aesthetic of London. Feels so cool having that DLC outfit for Jacob with the cape, have the Rooks follow you and open a volley fire on Templars. And then just going full stealth with Evie.
It is. Compared to Unity, Syndicate black box missions have more varieties, tools actually functioning the way it should, better enemies AI, kidnapping system, interactable environment kill (falling crates, explosives...)
@@huyvouc9785 Exactly. The only minor issue I had was with the detection since it would put you in combat state as soon as you were spotted. It can be a bit annoying if you're playing aggressive stealth
Would love for the original story idea of victory with Jacob as the soul protagonist and the darker tone, to finally release! Fun bit of info, Roth and Pearl both replaced evie's original role in the narrative. Originally, evie had the mask, injured face, and grey hair that Roth has, but she also had the long dress, necklace, and she would meet Jacob in a carriage all the time, just like Pearl. Anyway, it seems that Jacob and the "evil" evie concept from the "victory" idea for the game, would've had the fight in the music hall. I will say however, I actually love Roth as a villain, and his dynamic with Jacob is great! Wish we had more of that! (I will say tho, syndicate's tone isnt that bad. It is very similar to the amount of jokes in brotherhood or black flag, and the jokes are similarly bad.)
@@AltairStealth many people still don't know about all of this, and it took a lot of work to find all the info. I actually got a told I helped inspire the mod team for the victory project, which made me feel very proud, but also responsible to spread the truth about the development for victory.
NO STOP I WISH VICTORY OUTFIT WORKED FOR ME. theres so much to say about this vid. first being that this is probably the absolute closest thing to victory that i've ever seen and 2nd being that ac3s intro looks a little different here. u might've already blessed me with my fav altair stealth vid this year. another fact is we all know syndicates parkour system downgrades a bit from unity whilst still keeping some primary animations but even now like i said, i never stop learning from u even when i think i might know everything as i didnt even know syndicate kept in 0:09 unitys animation. theres no better channel than this one i swear
Ubisoft’s idea of “Players want to spend time in colorful open worlds” post Unity is killing the genre. There’s not yet a single title with a darker atmosphere since Unity, because of that, we have a Victorian London which is always sunny, colorful and rarely rains.
We all need a split screen assassin's creed game. I have a ps4 and need PlayStation Plus to do online. It would be cool to be able to play with a friend or a sibling at home instead of having to pay for online for a over expensive subscription for PlayStation Plus. Make the next game have splitscreen Ubisoft!
Perfectly captures the vibe of the industrial revolution and not those two siblings goofing off while killing millions of mercenaries, peoples should really be careful of what they wish for smh.
I have to be honest, I actually really enjoy Syndicate. I absolutely see how it could be better and I agree that it wasn't as serious and bleak as the time period it was placed in but I still enjoyed it
Even to be able to have the hood up while standing would’ve been nice in syndicate instead of a fucking top hat all the time when u don’t want to be in crouch mode
@AltairStealth i recently made a personal reshade for Syndicate that i'd love to give you! It fixes the Blacklevels and gamma of the game, adds a bit of sharpening (distance related of course and subtle), has the immerse pro rtgi (successor of qUINT rtgi shader that Marty released) and depth buffer configured, and also a touch of regrade so the reds pop a bit more since black and red is syndicates theme. How can i send you the shader files and the config? I'm positive you'll like it :) btw i love your gameplay and have been watching your vids for a long long time now ♥
Hmm I wonder for what purpose they removed Evie? I prefer her over Jacob, although I don't hate him. And isn't she supposed to be the master assassin between the two? Was it for a lore reason or just the mod creator's preference?
@@AltairStealth Is there any known reason why he did so? And if he actually gonna return or just abandon it? It's such a shame that such a good mod to be dumped like that
@@saadkhaion9234 "THE MODIFICATION IS INCOMPLETE, MANY FEATURES WHICH I PLANNED TO ADD WILL NOT BE ADDED BY ME ANY TIME SOON, DUE TO CONCERNS TO MY PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH WHICH WAS IMPACTED BY THIS MOD'S DEVELOPMENT. PLEASE ENJOY THE MOD FOR WHAT IT IS AS OF NOW ESPECIALLY SINCE IT'S MY LAST MODIFICATION, SINCE I AM QUITTING THE MODDING WORLD."
I think the franchise in general would benefit more from that darker, more mysterious tone, but I don't know why I have the feeling AC Red and Hex will provide just that
my Personal, Humble Non threating, Non attacking opinion. Assassin's Creed Unity's Parkour looks cooler, but the older games sound have look more satisfying. But that's just my Personal, Humble Non threating, Non attacking opinion.
Victory was originally supposed to be more darker and only includes one protagonist which is Jacob with a black hooded different outfit and a much more serious tone.
