Dane Di Pierro personally Radiohead's music has just never appealed to me at all. I think the bends and ok computer are great albums but after that I find their material pretty avante garde and not really to my taste
Different bands, but Verve definitely have more natural soul, funk and incendiary spiritual power imo. Radiohead have made some powerful, innovative music, no doubt. The Verve are the better band for me though. Radiohead are a bit miserabilist for me. I understand that's their intention, to explore the darker more fractured elements of the human pysche and existence. When they started out they were in a more 'grunge' US alt rock early 90's influenced style, but they obviously forged their own path. The Verve just connect on a deeper level to me though, and in a more positive way.
