Remember it being a blazing hot day and the early evening golden hour sunbeams illuminating the hash smoke in the hall. Headed straight for the sound desk to see that All in the Mind was on the set list! They very rarely played that at this time! Sat on the floor with all the other heads and dropped half a double-dipped purple OM 🕉️ with my lady and sparked up a J… For the entirety of Verve’s set my mind was a leaf on the cosmic wind, reverberating around the room, ascending and descending with the arc of Mccabes guitar and expanding and contracting with the bass vibrations. I was untethered and free to float high above the crowd and bathe in the endlessly echoing and surging sonic waves. A true out of body experience, utterly transcendent. Aaah to be 17 again for a day!
Nice to listen to this stuff again. I saw them a few times in the early years around Manchester/ North West, always liked them but didn't ever see them going as big as they did and still being listened to 30 years later....
If you can ever re-locate the video of the Verve in New York City jamming in the back of a trailer playing A Man Called Sun, You would be a hero. It was up on RU-vid for over a year and then it disappeared. Such a gem of a video and a time machine back to the good-ole-days of the early 90's scene.
Oh my f god . Miracle man beyond all that which I have ever dreamt! ???? Slims 94 , Manchester 92? Mental. Whats next , Manchester 95 ;) ...just downloading it... King tuts wah hut Lol King
Brilliant setlist of their earlier stuff. 32:00 makes me laugh and simultaneously sink my head when the guy asks his mate "do you like them?" then comments " every song sounds like waterfall by the stone roses though!"😂😂 The stones roses they clearly are not! I'm not sure what he was listening to!!🤦😆
I do remaster them to the best I can do. Some bootlegs aren't very salvageable, and without a separate audio track for each instrument and vocals it can be difficult at times to balance everything out. I find the bass and vocals always seem to dominate over McCabes guitar. Defiantly interested in what bootlegs you have stored, 92 to 95 is the most interesting for me
