Genuinely one of the best live sounding bands of all time. Ashcroft's voice and Mcabe's insane ability to make a guitar cry together creates such passion and energy. The fact they've never earned £1 from Bitter Sweet Symphony due to the Rolling Stones greed is a crime
It wasn't a part that was written by Mick, Keith, Ronnie & Bill, so they couldn't have sued Ashcroft/The Verve. The controversial sample was only Todd Oldham's own orchestral arrangement of the Rolling Stones hit, "The Last Time", so Mick et al. didn't lead the rush to sue Richard Ashcroft/The Verve. Instead, it was Todd Oldham & the Rolling Stones' manager Allen Klein who launched court proceedings against Ashcroft/The Verve. Interestingly, Oldham & Klein also proceeded to legally add Mick & the boys' names to the songwriting credits for the iconic string part, even though it was Oldham who wrote it. This meant that Oldham, Mick & the boys got the royalty payments from "Bitter Sweet Symphony". However, after Klein passed away in 2019, Mick et al. used their newfound legal stamp on the song to end the issue...they reversed the effects of the court ruling, by agreeing to pass future royalties to Ashcroft/The Verve. So Ashcroft/The Verve have been collecting royalties for "Bitter Sweet Symphony" for the last 3 or 4 years.

"Drugs don't worse" makes me feel sooo😢because my dad, my little bro and my bro he was 2 years older than me where died with drugs and alcohol 😢😢😢my mom died, she had 🦀. Me had that🦀 in 2016. After the operation the pain was heart. I can not eat😶🌫️😷 but after that I never 🚬 no more. When I hear the music from verve my eyes😢😢😢😢this music is made for me and my❤❤❤❤I ever miss my family🎧📀the pills💊💊💊helps me with my pain 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Who's this man think he is, casually slipping his jacket on whilst giving one of the best ever Glastonbury performances, closing the set with a brand new song. Grow up Richard
Brand new song at that time. But the crowd is feeling it and more important the band is feeling it. Look at them. Richard's, Simon's, Nick's and Pete's energy. They blew Glastonbury to another dimension. They were at their height again. Too bad they couldn't continue their journey :(. Maybe someday we'll see them again
I had the option of them or Chemical Brothers at T in the Park, I went to see Chemical Brothers, thinking I'd get the option to see the Verve again, but we know how that ended up...I had a great time but based on the amount of times I've watched this upload, I think I should have gone to the Verve that night

Recent performances at Glastonbury are so lackluster compared to this. This was absolute fucking magic. I echo other sentiments here - easily one of the best Glasto performances ever. A lot of the crowd didn't even know this song (as it was off their yet to be released new album) and they still went mental. Shows how good The Verve are!
I found this song a little while ago, even though I’ve been listening to The Verve around 3 years ago. What a tune mate! This band keeps surprising me with their bangers
I don't belive in God in the biblical sense but I've always intrepeded this song as having religious untertones. In a positive manner. It makes me feel hope.
