No doubt. It’s so good that I saw it at the time it aired and it always stuck with me. And I’m not a big fan of verve pipe like I don’t know any other song of theirs. It’s just a great performance
Their album "Villians" is one of the best albums I've ever heard. You might also like "Never Let You Down." Just give all their albums a chance because they're worth it.
@@mpicewe3023Photograph is a can't miss. Cup of Tea never fails to shock me it wasn't a bigger hit. Drive You Mild is my other favorite, but they never disappoint!
Me too! I was in middle school watching in my bedroom. I became obsessed with the song at the time. Still love it. I was happy to find the show, and also reading a comment that heard it the same exact time for the first time!
for some reason he has an amazing voice and i cant take my concentration off of it...its like hypnotizing. especially when he gets near the end....amazing
I was a freshman at MSU in 1992 and remember that these guys (and that Canadian band Bare Naked Ladies) were the greatest thing around. I remember seeing them at the old "Small Planet". They were great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw these guys Many times at Western MI. Univ. back in the day. I saw them when they were separate bands ( Johnny with an I, and Water for the pool ). My fraternity actually hired them for a big party ( was very successful ). Everyone loved these guys especially the girls. They loved this song. Great times back then. I miss it. All the best to the band members, they made my college years most memorable.
Thanks for posting this video! I remember watching this on MTV back in December of 1997 and loved this particular performance. I only saw it one time and never saw it again. Over the years I tried to find it on the internet, but never did. I completely forgot about it for years until this morning when my alarm clock went off to this song and I started thinking of this performance from like 13 years ago. Fired up RU-vid and here we are. Thanks again.
I remember this Jenny McCarthy like it was yesterday. Actually, searching for this live video is what got me started doing the youtube thing a few years ago. Finding this video lead me to Brian Vander Ark's solo music, which is fantastic. Since then. Brian has performed at our house and we listen to his music on a regular basis. Thanks so much for posting.
This band was quite underrated. I saw them twice in concert and they were amazing! They put a lot of thought into the details and nuances of their songs, especially the vocals. I was feeling bored with music at the time and they revived me. Their album Pop Smear is excellent!
Man I think this is one of my alltime favorite songs.I really hope heaven or paradise has music like this.I love Brian Vander Ark voice so much,it's perfect!
I have been to many Brian Vander Ark solo shows and have listened to him play this song many times live. The song IS about a girlfriend who had an abortion in his life. He stated that she did not commit suicide though in real life, he just added that to make the song more tragic.
These guys used to come down to a bar in Toledo, Ohio when I was in college. Back in 94 or 95, before they had this wonderful hit. They always sounded great.
This was the most popular -and overplayed- song from my college years. Given the plot of the song, it baffled me then, and it baffles me now. (I love, love, love how this video opens with them saying, "We wanted to write the most deeply upsetting song we could think of.")
The singer uses fingerstyle for a part that one would assume to be picked. I play it the same way, only because I have a stronger background in fingerstyle. Its a nice choice, though it is atypical.
Maybe one of you guys can help me, Im looking for the clip of the Jenny McCarthy show Esp where there is the clip that takes place in a coffee shop and the guy that works inside is super hyped up on caffine. Does anyone know where to find it? Or what its called? That clip was awesome !
One time the guitarist was working at guitar center in Grand rapids and was trying to sell his guitar and amp to my friend because he needed money desperately.. I kinda felt sorry for him...
