I was in the United States military (Navy) and you’re spot on... I was expendable. Thank you for the amazing informational content. 👍🏽 time to become a war profiteer 🤠
But that's right though you where expendable. Just like you would be expendable in any other big company like google or Amazon. I joined knowing this and so should everyone else who wants to serve.
Arguably wasn’t really an educational video essay if you ask me, while there was some research done in there for sure, I’ve seen videos with far more research done which make for a completely different style of video. Not bumping the guy or anything because he’s doing his thing or whatever but it was more of a sarcastic rant than an “essay” per say. At least in my opinion. Still interesting to watch. To mention the statistics in the beginning, namely the ones from the ‘profits of war’ section. While they may have been true statistics, he took them and accidentally misinterpreted or twisted them. Just because a company makes more profit in wartime doesn’t mean they don’t also have more costs, just because profit goes up doesn’t mean output doesn’t also go up, the right thing to do would be to show the profit margin (total revenue - total costs). He does talk about profit margins rising but doesn’t give an example or any source for his claim that profit margins are somehow 800%. He completely mixes up profit margins and overall profits when he talks about the leather company in WW1. He says how much profit they got before the war then how much during the war, well they might have got 3x the profit that probably just means they received 3x the orders. I had a lot of issues with this section in fact. He complains about how many new millionaires and billionaires emerged during WW1 but that period was over 4 years, we don’t know how many new millionaires and billions usually emerge in a 4 year period of economic boom, probably quite a lot. He also completely ignores the checks and balances put in place to maximise efficiency in budget and spending. For example, it’s not all that easy to get a contract with the US military for say a new multi role fighter. Companies are competing with other companies to not only make the best product, but for the best price, and one that fits the US militaries requirements. Lockheed Martin won the contract for the F-35 but think about who lost... they had to spend billions and billions to develop this multi role fighter that was completely useless and never made a penny in profit. It’s the same with every other piece of tech and resource the military uses, it’s all one huge competition between companies with only 1 winner. You can only imagine how much new innovated tech comes out of this fight for survival, not to mention jobs. And the tech isn’t just for the military, think GPS, Computer chips etc etc the list goes on. And as for the actual military high command, they have an allocated budget from the government, right. They then have to spend that budget as efficiently as possible in order to keep their job, if the government sees the military high command are using all their budget but the military aren’t meeting the standards set out to them by the government, these people get replaced. This incentivises efficient spending on things that are desperately needed. If you ask me the guy was either accidentally mistaken or outright being misleading when he made the US military and government look like they just didn’t care what they spent their money on and that they only cared about making money for the companies. I have a couple more complaints both big and small but this comment is already becoming lengthy and I’m a month late, so I’ll wrap up for you. Again I’ll mention I have no personal problem with the guy making the video and am in no way attacking him personally or discrediting the ENTIRE video since there was some good points in there.

Oh it gets worse, lets not forget: Spreading coronavirus fearmongering, racist, factually false information (Paul Joseph Watson): Monetised Spreading weird nazi propaganda (Stefan Molyneux and uhhh literally countless others): Monetised Mounting an organised campaign to mass bully a gay, latino reporter (on the basis of him being gay and latino as well) without ever being provoked (Steven Crowder): Monetised Saying the word trans, sex, or suicide (notably Contra Points but many, many others): DEMONETISED Not to mention that RU-vid routinely promotes hard right content, while basically burying anything vaguely left leaning, progressive, and sometimes even liberal. And im not like anti free speech at all, and i value political debate and i think its fine to have well spoken conservative figures on RU-vid (although they are extremely rare lol), i just think that RU-vid is both unfairly biased towards right wing content, and also in general has a very wrong set of values as a platform. Also right wing snowflakes still complain about being silenced loool sorry bro gotta keep that n word down a bit, keep that k word and those nazi salutes away too, and you're literally gonna become a million sub channel in months. Fucking bunch of spineless pussies.
@ This comment didn't age well. 1) Although I don't like PJW's "reporting" and Alex Jones is giving him a free pass, the MSM is starting to entertain that the virus was manufactured in China and released accidentally. Still TBD whether this was caused by bat soup in the wet market. 2) Stefan is definitely right-leaning, but he varies between authoritarian (border control, traditional values) and libertarian (free market, #FreeHongKong), so I don't find how he has solidarity with "nazis", especially since he's partially Jewish. He's just a light Alex Jones, and as long as he doesn't have a threatening CTA, he'll probably be demonetized eventually if he hasn't already, but shouldn't be taken down due to contrarian opinions. 3) Steven's main problem in the cited video is Carlos' pro-Antifa stance, which I believe the viewership had issues with. The "accent" was a part of Crowder's humor of doing skits and Carlos' orientation was self-admitted, but Crowder later apologized...after a scorched-Earth policy was applied by RU-vid after the press flooded with a "controversy" in Carlos' favor. RU-vid briefly saved bipartisan face by banning 3 Arrows temporarily, but got him back up. Also, Steven Crowder sells mugs, so he cannot be fully deplatformed. 4) There is a whole doc on what words you can't say that is farther than the LGBT community, that affect everyone on RU-vid. Although the culture is free to mention, the words are being policed communally on other platforms like Twitch, and as other hackfrauds like David Pakman have said that the "g" word is beginning to conflate with the "n" word, which is sadly ridiculous. Also, RU-vid being stupid is nothing new, they've been in the red for a decade now but are being kept alive by Google...which has the problem of using ad and page history to create "bubbles" which validate confirmation bias for individual viewers in the name of more ads. If there were more video platforms and search engines this wouldn't be a big deal, but relatively few have taken off.

Dealing in arms is risky, unpopular and, more than the just the risk of getting killed, some politician or official can decide to throw you under the buss and end up costing you millions of dollars and precious months or years of jail-time even if everything you were doing was legal at the time! The Humanitarian(tm) business is loads more profitable, you get to brag about how you're doing humanity a service, everyone will think you're great and a lot of wealthy and influential people will do _anything_ it takes to be seen as your friend. So what if 90% of the aid you send to...uh...let's see...Botswana, no, Zimbabwe...no, Ghana? No that's not the one, uh...ah, yeah, Zanzibar. That was the one. So what if 90% of the aid you send to Zanzibar is filtered through the Zanzibar government which is precisely the reason the people of Zanzibar need your help and who are no doubt going to abuse your generous aid to further their own power and worsen the position of their people. At least I think it was Zanzibar, it doesn't really matter so long as they're brownish and poor. And besides, think of the money laundering opportunities! BILLIONS of dubiously gained funds will pass through your Humanitarian(tm) "Non-Profit" only to be quietly filtered through anonymous accounts in various nations which practice very creative banking to then filter back into the pockets of all your criminal bodies - leaving you a substantial cut, of course. Going from your example above: US army (owner) needs 1 million cans of beans for chow time and the cost is $1.00/can civilian price.. Owner then tenders out the contract, Company A (contractor) submits their bid for $20 million, company B (contractor) is $25 million. US army selects Company A because they are the cheapest. Company A had to source 1 million cans of beans from a supplier or different suppliers because most suppliers do not stock that many cans of beans. Therefore, the time (money) spent Company A is using to source 1 millions cans of beans from different suppliers and all the logistics (cost, shipping, storing, cargo weight etc) involved is why these items are marked up a shit ton.
@ScarletDespair Blaming only Israel does nothing to fix the issue. Sure Mossad was involved with the WMD intelligence, but many billionaires with stakes in Halliburton, GM, GE, etc made a lot of money throughout the wars. When I see people blame Israel it usually seems like they are missing the point and will only let the crimes continue just because they hate Jews. Get rid of Israel we still have war profiteering. Instead we need to look at the root of the issues, like how the interests of the rich are very different the interests of the common folk, yet the rich have all the power when it comes to starting wars.
@@leroture7750 the Wars throughout the 2000s largely benefitted Israel. Israel is the only democratic nation in a sea of Muslim countries that all have their knives out for Israel. By sending the US to destabilize these surrounding nations, Israel massively benefits by increasing their power in the region by not being fucked by US drone strikes. So while the US does benefit from some ancillary activities such as claims on oil, war economy, etc, Israel gains the most. Ask yourself this, if the US truly cared about world peace and helping others, wouldn't they be in Africa, Parts of Asia, South America, you know, countries that actually have legitimate conflicts worth resolving? Instead, the US military constantly finds itself where it can benefit Israel the most.

My grandfather was alive during WW2. His father and his many brothers were exempt from the draft because their family business landed an army contract providing mosquito netting and so were "necessary for the war effort". They were the soal supplier of mosquito netting for the entire war and they gauged the government every step of the way. They had enough money to do anything they wished. Needless to say, they squandered that fortion, and now my grandfather is retired in Florida. Now... he insisted that what America needs to get back on its feet is a war...

I have a feeling that adapting to circumstances means trying to steer a 100,000 DWT oil tanker ... The American Civil War should have been a warning to the world how War had changed in just 60 years. When WWI broke out, Gen. W. T. Sherman would've, just like the Civil War, predicted it would be a long protracted war ... Perhaps the real major shock was WWII. Again, in the handful of decades, War changed all over again. This time it included the first, and hopefully last, instance when a Genocide against some 10 million combined, where gassed, incinerated, and all that ash simply dumped, sometimes in rivers. The Eastern Front was especially brutal, as it went back to sieges, like at Verdun. There, the German high command failed to heed to Napoleon: that to the Soviets, once Generals Depth and Winter both arrived ... as there was a huge landmass that is Russia, the further they drew back, the thinner the German supply lines became until they snapped. Then throw Winter into the mix; regions experiencing scorching hot summers gradually went into a deep freeze. Naturally, the Soviets were fully prepared, but the Germans weren't ... and the rest is quite literally history. The Gulf War of the '90s, was justifiable because Saddam Husein invaded Kuwait. A 'Coalition of the Willing' was gathered to kick Iraq out of Kuwait. There were those whom wished they pushed all the way to Baghdad, and maybe that would've better, than invading just on a stack of superstitions, although invading Afghanistan could have been more of a humanitarian mission, than the heavy handed, military, one ... ... and even then, the Americans, and us British, especially, failed to heed the failure of the Soviet Army, and every other Army, not least our British army, a century, or so, ago ... with the enemy more or less hiding in plain sight, I'm not surprised how, like Vietnam, you were practically dealing with an unseen enemy ... And now, yet again, there is a semi-proxy war between the West, and Russia, less so in Syria, but certainly in Ukraine. But if Putin goes all out in both theatres, he will push especially NATO to the brink ... Unfortunately, sleep deprivation may mean the above is mangled, but my point is if wars are fought based off of previous conflicts in specific regions, instead, using the military equivalent to evidence based medicine, then NATO, in this instance, with a bit of help from Mossad, needs to up tempo its intelligence gathering, by all means available, to understand exactly what the Russian invasion strategy is, and be kept updated at a faster pace ...

How do you become an arms dealer in the first place?" "Back in the Navy we delivered guns all over the world, droppin' off guys with 20 crates of rifles for the local fighters, so they could knock over some dictator. Mind you, that’s not 20 crates of factory M16’s, these were illicit weapons, confiscated in some raid and then redistributed. No paper work, right? If a crate here or there goes missing, hey, it happens. Military teaches you two things: how to deal with bureaucracy, and how to avoid it. Learning how to avoid it means learning how to deal in arms. You muster out, you apply what you learned. Every gunman I have ever met got his start that way: losing illicit weapons in transport with national militaries." "Did you ever choose sides in a conflict?" "Ah I did it once, was a bad idea, cut my profits in half. Almost got me killed. Never again. You sell to both sides. You can help level the field, stabilize the market, draw out the conflict and make more money. A big sale to one side doesn’t generate repeat business. Both the APR and the UFLL are using my weapons. Now, they're in detente both sides are stockpiling. Less violence. More spending. It's perfect." "But its anarchy! Thousands are dead, hundreds of thousands are displaced!" "If I picked sides, fewer would be displaced but more would be dead; and I would probably be one of them." What do you think you’re gonna achieve with this interview? You think somebody in the Pentagon's going to read it and come after me? Shit no, I’m a necessary evil. They want me here, they’re glad I’m here.
