I used to begrudgingly watch this show, because my dad would never miss an episode. I wish I could have appreciated it more at the time. My dad died in 2018. What I wouldn't give to go back and enjoy watching some episodes with him now!

I'm sure - my grandmother used to watch these. However, personal attachments aside, unless you're a botanist, it's easy to understand how one might glaze over at these types of shows lol

Seeing the intro with the show logo coming into view brought back pleasant, if not boring memories to me as a 5 year old seeing this on the weekends!

This is how I remember watching The Victory Garden as a little kid in the mid 80s but the WGBH logo use to scare me (it looked like a blinding red lazerbeam aiming at your face)

Why not the older episodes especially with Jim Crocket was hosting?

I like the episodes airing from 1991 - 1999 because it has Chef Marian Morash, but still please include the WGBH Boston logos, sponsors, opening and closing of each episode.

I loved Chef Marian Morash. She did recipes on the air from 1979 - 2001

Why the host didn’t remove the burlap from the Christmas tree he was planting? I thought this is a no-no. This is what I’m afraid from watching old videos. A lot of old gardening practices aren’t up to date to modern practices and thinking. You got to know this.

Burlap breaks down quickly in the ground, you only need to loosen any knots - it helps keep the root ball together in the ground - I’ve planted thousands of trees this way, no problems.
