THE VILLISCA AXE MURDERS a brief history
Hey, my little party animals and welcome to a brand new video! On the evening of June 9th, 1912, Mary Katherine Moore invited Ina Mae and Lena Gertrude Stillinger to spend the night at her home. The same evening, the Moore family and the Stillinger girls attended the Children’s Day Program at the local Presbytarian church. After the program had finished for the day, the family and girls walked back to the Moore’s home for cookies and milk before retiring for the evening. The house was found to be suspiciously silent the next morning, and when a neighbor checked in on the family- it was found that everyone in the home had been bludgeoned with the blunt side of an axe and everyone had died. Still, over 100 years later, the vicious crime in a small Iowa town is still unsolved. What happened that night, and who may have killed the Moores and their guests?
In this episode of A Brief History, we're building the Villisca Axe Murder site in Iowa. I followed as many reference photos as possible of the real home, as well as floor plans of the site. I did leave out the barn for time sake, and obviously had to make choices regarding furniture due to the limitations in building within The Sims 4.
