I’ve been a manager at taco John’s and our bonuses were bigger if our drive thru time waits were low, a few companies get bonuses based on how long a car is sitting in drive thru waiting for food so I bet ya anything that’s what it was , loved the pod!

I relied on DoorDash for main income for about 3 years (due to my own lack of sense to get a better job). 100% of everything that goes into every order is on the restaurant. That includes straws, sauces, napkins, cutlery. There were a few places that had some straws and cutlery set out that I would grab just in case. I considered myself a great dasher but I can’t say the same for others. Chelsie said it perfectly “it goes both ways”. I’ve had so many great experiences delivering food because both parties were respectful. I did my job right and they tipped me fairly.

This truly is my comfort podcast, thankyou Paige and Chelcie for making my day brighter ☺️

As a delivery driver, I truly appreciate the cash tips. When the bags are sealed, we just hope the order is correct, but if there is a comment like please make sure I get sauces ect, I grab them and put them on the side.

The Taco Bell teenagers need to know there’s consequences for their behavior and bad customer service. Y’all should really complain.

Im a dasher and 97 percent of the time there is no tip already on the order, they never tip. So to wait 15 minutes or more for an order at the restaurant and drive your food to you to get $2.50 for 30 minutes….its not worth it. I’ve never left a nasty note or anything but a lot of dashers do decline orders because of this. Also, we have no control over the quality of the food, sides sauces. We are literally not allowed to open the bags. It is the stores responsibility.

Hey chelt c, when I get Tbell I always order on the app. I like to customize my food and the app makes it sooo easy. Avoids the miscommunication at the order speaker. Pass your phone around and everyone can add their order and then select pick up at the drive through. Sorry you probably already know this but still 😅

I do DDash and UberEats when saving up $$, and I make sure my car is cleaned, I'm clean, handle w/care, follow instructions...etc. But other drivers mess it up for all of us. 🙄 We're not all bad. Ps. I have complaints about $4 orders that don't tip at the door. 😅 its cases of water with other bags, to apts/condos with no gate code or apt # in notes, AND there's stairs! (Happens too often) Thank you for taking my grievance. 😄 love ya, hunnies!

When I worked at Arby’s they did get on us about how long people have been sitting in the drive thru line. There was a pressure plate in the concrete that could sense cars and time them once they got to the window. We did prefer big orders came in, but never asked them to do so.

Same thing here in Huntsville Al the fast food workers have zero manners. I worked the drive thru at Schlotzskys deli when I was young and I loved my customers and it makes your day so much better to be kind to everyone. Glad y’all brought this subject up.

I’m with Maggie. Report it. 1 to 10 I’m at a 10. She was more interested in hanging with her friends than taking care of her customers. And they purposely gave you messed up food because you interrupted their hang time. And the only time I would say go inside to make a large order is if there is a long line in the drive thru. When I worked at McDonalds. We had a lady that would come in for the office she worked at and she would order food for 10 to 15 people. She always put the order in her notes app on her phone. And she would hand her phone over. Each person’s name and their order. I would grab a stack of bags and a Sharpie and write each person’s name and the order on the bag, and the cooks would make the food as order. And the manager that assembled the orders according to each bag. She had boxes to carry the orders in and she had a liquor store box to carry the drinks in. And the manager would help her carry out the boxes.

I've never worked at a fast food restaurant but I've heard that the reason they don't like big orders in the drive through is because they have a "time limit" that a car can be in the window waiting. So that's why they make you pull up to the parking lot. My impression is that they might get in trouble with their corporate if they go over that time limit. That also makes sense why she said "I'll do it for you this time but come inside next time" obviously if my theory is right she should've just said that lol no excuse for being rude to you or not getting the order right.

I’m sorry but Taco Bell is on my “DO NOT GO” list. They done pissed be off when a teenage girl working the drive through tried to fight me. Nope. And it 100% has to do with management. Also on my list: Popeyes, Sonic, Wendy’s the only BK I go to is the one by my house because the manager is good. I refuse to give these organizations my money when they treat me like an inconvenience. And I am the nicest most empathetic person you will meet. Also, I have worked many years in food services and fast food and just out of HUMAN DECENCY I would prepare food to the best of my ability and say “thank you have a good day!” I mean… why not?? Treat people the way you want to be treated!

Door dash and Uber eats are not responsible for your condiments unless you note to ask if it’s included. Most bags are sealed ever since covid. I do know Uber eats lets you change your tip after delivery and please rate your driver. Not sure in door dash. I’m a dasher every now and then to make some extra $$. If I don’t see a tip in the receiving order I will not accept the dash. I’ve done so many dashes thinking they would cash tip or add tip and they haven’t. I’m a top dasher and I also do Instacart. I worked at sonic back in 1995 while in college as a car hop. I loved that job. So much fun! Love ya hunnies!

For the taco bell thing, my ex was a shift lead and you can mess with their bonuses by giving them bad feedback with the receipt info i think its like tell the bell or something. But absolutely report it to corporate. CORE should know. Our taco bell is currently ran by a bunch of teenagers and they admit that they purposely make the drive thru line waits 15+ minutes and mess up the food. And its always disgustingly messy in there now. It sucks cuz i miss eating there so much 😞

As a business owner, I’d want to know if my employees were being rude or making my customers feel uncomfortable in any way. Maybe don’t leave a review until you talk to a manager so that you can give the manager a chance to make the situation right.

My family of 4 went thru and it was over $65 and we all only got two things and a drink (Alaska prices are ridiculous). But what if a mom of 8 rolled thru and wanted to place her big order? They would rather her go in with all those kids and take up time at the counter?

Y'all might not see this, but I worked in several fast food places in the last few years and had friends work them (it's worse than when you used to work in fast food lol). I can give you the tea. 1) Fast Food places have a 120 second timer. Or worse. The first item entered is when the timer starts, serving is when the timer ends. Regardless of order size. If the timer's average is 12X+ seconds they get fucked. That includes everyone who is involved with your order (penalties include: less hours, worse responsibilities, annoyed managers, marked for NO RAISE on their employee review) For the record, if you take 2 minutes to order, that still counts towards the timer... So... Yeah. 2) All order/kitchen screens are shit. The screens abbreviate everything and are glare-y as hell. They also want to clear the screen at the 120 second mark to avoid being fucked by the company. So they're rushing to get everything started while it's on the screen, meaning more chance for inaccurate/improperly cooked food. Also the timer and screens can't be cleared until the order is paid for, so they have to take your order and cash within 120 seconds if possible. 3) While the shitty screens NEED to be cleared by 120 seconds, your order can still be looked up on the INDOORS CASH REGISTER if you ordered inside! Which also shows the full order on a nice screen, without any confusing abbreviations. Even better, if you ordered inside, they could start your food items as you're saying them, asking you questions if needed. Doing this is the equivalent of meeting them halfway, which is nice if you want food from the Fast Food Slaves from the Mega Corp Fast Food Place. Both you and the employee want something from the Mega Corp, so, like, work together on that one. 4) For some reason employees can't tell people how shitty the company is??? For some reason the company doesn't realize how shitty this is for customer satisfaction??? So that's why she probably said for you to come inside next time. She obviously didn't mean if you were handicap or had a short order. People who make big orders (should've) been told to come inside next time and y'all are adults, so she probably assumed you were CHOOSING to go through the Drive Thru knowing that you should've come inside instead. It's not nice for her to assume, but y'know, it's hard to be charitable when you're gonna get fucked the next day. Putting all the above together, her attitude was trying to be "nice" towards you while also holding back any grievances. Because you didn't MEAN to fuck her 6 ways from Sunday and it wouldn't be fair for her to bitch at you. It's the company's fault. When your order was done, she went to go shit talk with her friends and vape. Because she was gearing up to be fucked the next day by the company. In all honesty, even if she got the 100 dollars and kept it for herself, it still wouldn't offset the amount of fuckage she'd get for a bad average time. btw if she's a Manager In Training, that really fucks up her chances of promotion. She could've been the sweetest girlie in all the land and made your order to perfection. The professionalism and cleanliness would've been recorded for all to see. You could've called in and gave her a wonderful review, saying how you're going to go there weekly for 100+ dollar big orders because of her. But the owner would look at the timer and go "lmao nah bitch the average time is over 120 seconds, you're too shitty for the promo lolololol." TL;DR you accidentally helped the company fuck her but she didn't want to take it out on you since it's the company's fault, so she held it in and vented to her buddies afterwards. Sometimes YOU CAN BE THE ASSHOLE IN A SITUATION WITHOUT REALIZING IT. Sorry Cheltsea and Crew, y'all mad at the wrong person. If she's an asshole when you order inside, then you can slap a bitch up. Otherwise it's probably the company's fault, ruining her day and ruining your day with their shitty nonsensical policies.

Go Maggie! Report them! I have worked customer service for 30 years and I agree that this generation of workers sucks! They don't say hi or thank you. I can't stand that! If they don't tell me thank you, I will say it to them and repeat it until they say it back. When I am waiting on customers, I hate when they are on their phones and completely ignore me. So rude! My mom was in a wheelchair and ordered from a local sub shop (Jimmy John's). She went to pick it up and they were not handicap accessible. They charged her a delivery charge to walk it out to her vehicle! That pissed me off!!

I know at Arby's we had a drive thru timer and it was used as a measurement of how good service is/isn't. So that may explain too why she is asking not to run up her timer on drive thru times. For larger orders it's common courtesy to use the lobby (dine-in) in my experiences but everyone has their own way of doing things. 😂❤ But of course it's not a requirement lmaoooo it's just a nice to do IF they get timed on the drive thru. If you cannot or don't wanna go in - don't! :)
