@@sillysam182002uk currently listening to this while I write a uni essay on Elizabeth. Definitely helps get into the right vibe, and an utterly amazing soundtrack. Thank you so much for still keeping it uploaded!
2023 and this soundtrack has remained embedded in my memory since I first heard it when the series was aired. As lovely as the acting and visuals were for this series, it was the music that really shone here.
This type of music is awe inspiring and badass at the same time. I can totally picture this song played to much of my own messed up childhood on the Southside of Chicago with gangs, drugs and murder literally everywhere
I love this soundtrack from "The Virgin Queen" and I can't find it anywhere! ""Legacy of Comfort" is my favorite track. Thanks very much for the upload! :)
I saw Virgin Queen when it first came out & regularly rerent it for the soundtrack. Of course, Tom Hardy and Anne Marie Duff were excellent but the music was so medieval and modern that it make their production superior to all the other Elizabeth movies out there. I agree with the comments above that this is one of the best soundtracks ever. The Mediaeval Baebes are excellent & the Bulgarian/Rumanian (?) singers are too. Thank you for posting the music & movie. .
So glad i have found this on here, cannot find it on itunes or spotify even though i am sure i used to have it on apple, thank you so much for this being on here
That's not true. Mary Stuart was the grandaughter of one of King Henry VIII's sisters and legitimate. If Mary had thought with her mind instead of her heart, she could have been Queen. She married her husband's murderer which ever put a shadow across her. Elizabeth ruled with her mind. She did not want to make the same mistake as Mary Stuart did, because Lord Robert had the shadow cast over him of whether he killed his wife or not even though it was proven that he did not.
Shut up! I beg your pardon but she was huge in the world stage! You're talking about the woman that built the English Empire, the one that destroyed the Spanish Armada, she had Francis Drake at her feet! This woman beheaded another queen (Mary Stuart, Scottish queen)! She had the world at her feet! And I'm not even english, so this isn't patriotism talking, it is respect and admire.
I don't think Elizabeth really wanted to have Mary killed. They were cousins, and Elizabeth struggled a while with the decision that she eventually made to preserve the safety of her position and country. Mary WAS plotting against Elizabeth; she had letters smuggled out in barrels and Walsingham uncovered the whole scheme. Elizabeth was not as much of an iron-fisted warrior woman as people like to make her out to be. She constantly had self-doubts despite her obvious political talent.
There was speculation as to whether Anne Boleyn had conceived Elizabeth before Henry and Anne were married. How it all works is ricdiculous but seen as it was Henry VIII, most of the time he got his own way and made sure there was some reason for his actions, like his annulments with Catherine of Aragon and Anne of Cleves.
Not ripped. It is similar, indeed, but is not the same. Many songs have similar melodies or musical phrasing, but this is not the exact 'The Gael' from LOTM.

+tomurg It is VERY similar. Nigh nearly identical even. I was convinced I was listening to The Kiss when heard it and was surprised to see it was Martin Phipps and not Trevor Jones. But then composers have always thieved from one another.

Has anyone told you ce ze that Hell doesn't exist? It really doesn't, Hell was made up to scare people into obedience. And besides this woman you speak of is someone you clearly don't know, so how could you know if she deserved to be in Heaven or not? Think before you write opinions on RU-vid in future.I think she should be embraced and celebrated for being human with mistakes don't you, I am doing a paper on why she never married, I hope you read it when I am through.
still nothing compared to bloody mary and henry tudor in monstrosity she was well aware of the world and really well educated, not to mention brought great reforms.end ended the religious quarrels
Well she was very pro reformation which is the English medieval Brexit. England's ties to Europe and the authority of the Pope was ever so fickle and she was the one that cemented England's break away from the continent by issuing it law that a catholic cannot ever sit on the English throne
@@steinbauerova religion clearly doesn’t unite, there have been far too many wars in history which have been a direct result of it, Queen Elizabeth I is a great example about a war purely on a basis on religion - and that’s just about being a different denomination. In present times religion has caused wars in the Middle East and only unite people if they follow doctrine which will always exclude others
