And Alumrah is valid at all times of the year, and at all times of the day and night. It differs from Hajj, as its actions are few and limited to: Ihram, Talbiyah, Tawaf, and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah, then shaving or shortening, which is the last of its actions, from which the pilgrim is released.
I take you from here to that sacred space, from the Miqat of Ihram, answering the call of Allah Almighty, after He honored us and accepted us to visit His venerable House, remembering the father of the prophets Abraham, peace be upon him, his wife Hajar and his son Ishmael, (And make the hearts of some people yearn toward them). Answering the call of the believers (Here I am, O Allah, here I am, here I am, You have no partner, here I am, indeed all praise and blessings are Yours, and the kingdom, You have no partner)
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, urged people to perform Umrah. and explained its virtues. Umrah expiates sins and erases transgressions. It eliminates poverty and blesses wealth, if it is done purely for His sake. The servant hopes for reward and recompense from God, the Most High, the Most Wise. In Al-Muwatta’ and the two Sahihs, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah - may God be pleased with him - that the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Umrah to Umrah is expiation for what comes between them, and an accepted Hajj brings no less than Paradise as a reward.”
The Muatemir - O servants of God - in his Umrah is obedient to God, he does not take a step except that it is in the pleasure of God and His love, so he is either a respondent, and the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “There is no Muslim who responds to the Talbiyah except that those to his right and left of stones, trees, or mud respond to him until the earth ends here and there.” Narrated by Imam Al-Tirmidhi.
Then know - Abdullah - that the best Umrah is that which is performed in Ramadan, as it is the month of acts of worship and devotion, due to the combination of honorable time and place. He - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Umrah in Ramadan is equal to Hajj,” and in another narration: “Hajj with me.”
Among the acts of Umrah - O servants of Allah - is make Tawaf around the House, enter with humility, submission, and glorification of Allah - the Almighty - and thanks to the benefactor who bestowed it upon him and made it easy for him to enter His House. He touches the Black Stone with his right hand, and kisses it if that is easy for him. He does that out of glorification of Allah - the Almighty - and following the example of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
On the authority of Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Touching them - touching the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner - is an expiation (kafarah) for sins.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi.
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “This stone will come on the Day of Resurrection and it will have two eyes with which it sees, and a tongue with which it speaks, testifying for whoever touched it in truth.” Narrated by Ibn Majah.
After Tawaf, he heads towards the Station Maqam of Abraham and recites: “And take, [O Muhammad], the standing place of Abraham as a place of prayer.” Then he prays two rak’ahs behind it if possible, otherwise in any place in the mosque. In the first rak’ah, after the Fatiha, he recites: “Say, ‘O you disbelievers,’qul ya Ayha Alkafiron” and in the second: “Say, ‘He is God, the One.’ qul hwa Allahu Ahad” Then he returns to the Black Stone and touches it if possible.
When he has completed seven Walking he ends at Al-Marwah, one Walking from Al-Safa to Al-Marwah and another Walking from Al-Marwah to Al-Safa. He shaves his head or shortens it, but shaving is better. In Al-Muwatta’ and the two Sahihs, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Umar, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “O Allah, have mercy on those who shave.” They said: “And those who shorten their hair, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “And those who shorten their hair.”
And do not forget, Abdullah, if you visit the city of the Beloved - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - to be well-mannered in its manners, and to know its right and value, and take advantage of your stay there by praying in the Prophet’s Mosque - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - because praying in it is better than a thousand prayers in any other place, except the Sacred Mosque.
