It's time for pet parents Pon and Garmen to reclaim their living room from their two golden retrievers and turn it into a refuge where they want to spend time, relax and even take the occasional video call. Inspired by their quaint craftsman-style bungalow, Anne-Marie creates a plan for this charming couple to add authenticity, warmth and purpose to their space. The first step? Removing the plantation shutters to open up the view and let in the light.
About The Vision Maker:
Anne-Marie Barton has a superpower: she can walk through a home and tell immediately if something isn't working. From simple changes to sweeping makeovers, her goal is to create a more beautiful life. Anne-Marie visits the homes of people who can’t seem to get their spaces right, and with tons of takeaway, offers homeowners a transformation that will not only change their spaces, but also their lives.

Beautiful plans. I'm just thinking doggy paws on the white sofa... A washable seat covering blanket will probably be a good idea. 😊

Specifically golden retriever, they’re beautiful but the worst in terms of maintenance them and the house with all the fur shedding

The PLANTATION SHUTTERS were my favorite thing in the house 😢😢😢

I love my plantation shutters because they give me so much adjustability for light and privacy. Drapery panels in addition to the shutters will give it the softness that the room needs.

I agree, keep the shutters!!! Add soft drapery that go all the way up. This design reminds me of the Flintstones. I would make it more dramatic, moody and airy, just my opinion.

Your design reco is not Craftsman. It is mid-century at best. Craftsman wouldn’t have walls covered in flat wood paneling. This is definitely more mid-century. Craftsmen would have molding details, at least a chair rail. The furniture, white upholstery and white floor covering you recommended is also mid-century. The ceiling wouldn’t be a flat wood pattern. It would have dimensional details; wood beams or at least a plaster rose above the chandelier. The chandelier would be wrought iron and art glass. The cabinet would not be painted and rectangular, without dimensional details. This cabinet would be polished wood, and might include references to the art glass chandelier. I feel you did a disservice to your clients and the You Tube audience.

I appreciate your comments and you are right on the money. Some good ideas here, well Meaning of course, but they do not reflect the excellence of the craftsman period or style of home. I am disappointed that we don't get to see her clients reaction and ultimate end results.

I did not hear the client's ask for a Craftsman look straight from the Sears catalogue. Anne-Marie elevated the room to include elements of warmth and the flavor of craftsman style, thank you very much dear.
