I would like to know what treasures are still in the drawers that haven't been published yet, but that also shows what incredible geniuses they are. Compared to today, this is a completely different level
I Am The City, You Owe Me One, Just Like That, Cassandra, Under Attack & The Day Before You Came were recorded in 1982 during the sessions for their unfinished 9th album.
They are not considered part of the "The Visitors"-album because real fans talk about the original albums. The 1982 tracks have absolutely nothting to do with The Visitors.@@AbbaVideosRU-vid
That album would be Just like that Elaine I am the city You owe me one Another me another you Under attack The day before you came Cassandra Story of a girl Wasp
Another Morning is probably the closest we normal humans will get to what Frida sounded live and direct without a lot of production, rehearsals, just singing a first test.
Yes and it was wonderful! I wish we had more like that, I thought they did over produce at times when the ladies' voices were good enough without all that messing about!
Some interesting out takes here although Just Like That and Under Attack weren't even writen during the recording of The Visitors and hail from the final original ABBA year of 1982.
I had heard the Angel Passing Through My Room versions before but had not heard the others, and now can't get Hovas Vittne out of my head (I don't speak a lick of Swedish). I am also fascinated with this rough draft of Two For The Price of One, a song I barely tolerated on the Visitors album. But this rendition has more relevance and interest to me..."Sometimes I wished I had a ... knife." Woah. I could also discern Benny's singing here. I always thought he was faking it in the live performances with the mic so far from him and it looked like he was just phoning it in, but he really sings. Also TFTPOO (nice initials) sounds a little like an incel dude is singing it. I remain under impressed with Just Like That. Under Attack sounds really cool in this version. Thanks for posting this.
@@AbbaVideosRU-vid Well... Frida & Agnetha's singing is so passionate and playful that I'm not sure it would be the same in English. I am in Quebec and one time when listening on the radio, heard a song in French that was so good and pretty that I needed to know who had sung it. Turns out it was Celine Dion. Who has a great voice, but not one I go out of my way to listen to. Different in her native tongue!
Hovas Vittne was especially made and sang for 50th Stikkans Birthday. And those 12 inch LPs were given to the guest's attending the party. So very limited. Tiveshambo was written by Stikkan in the early years (not for Abba).
In my opinion The Visitors is one of the best pop albums ever released. And if some of these out takes would have made it to the album making it into a double album it would have been the absolute best of ALL.
Yes, I think it was their greatest achievement too. And I just can't escape the incredible fact that the masterpiece "The day before you came", my favourite Abba track if I have to pick one, was the last song they ever recorded - before Voyage 40 years later that is!
It is a pity I showed that video to family and friends and they were amazed with how much was buried in the ABBA songs. Could you make the videos available on other platform like Facebook or Dailymotion?@@AbbaVideosRU-vid
Well said ,ABBA was incredible with Music in every way. We were Blessed to experience and enjoy their feel good Music of Love and joy to the World. ❤@@juvenalcarvalho6728
How can 2 songs written for the album AFTER this one be FROM "The Visitors" sessions, and why isn't 'Should I Laugh Or Cry' here, not least when they didn't even put it on the album? Cos I sure do!
All the "love" for "Just Like That" over the years - what about the criminally under appreciated "Givin' A Little More"? Crying out for a full version!!!!!!!!
"Hovas vittne" is a smash hit! What an awesome tune. Imagine if it were released as an official ABBA song. 👌 "Tivedshambo" was actually composed by Stikkan Anderson, at least he is credited for it.
ABBA me trae tantos recuerdos de mi mamá, ella escuchaba todas las versiones en español en especial Chiquitita ❤❤❤. Aqui cantan "Se me está escapando" en español 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Pity that Two For The Price Of One didn’t stay an outtake… it’s definitely the low point of the album. Should I Laugh Or Cry should have been on the original album (it ended up being the B side of One Of Us) but that would have given Frida one more song than Agnetha, so I’d say that’s why Björn got the album track.
@@AbbaVideosRU-vidOh well, each to their own!.. I usually just skip it because I find it jarring. Should I... fits in perfectly after The Visitors. It's interesting on Voyage that they didn't worry about Frida having the first three in a row.
Agree, definately think Should I Laugh Or Cry should’ve been on The Visitors album instead of Two For The Price Of One, fitting in with it’s dark, more mature theme..
The tune @ 5:08 as well as for the World Ice Hockey Championships it was also the theme tune for Dick Cavett Meets ABBA which was filmed in April 1981.
