Things I know each song for: The Breach: Sounds like a Divisions song Otherworldly: Best Bridge of any of their songs Icarus: Really good verse 1 and chorus Earthrise: Sounds like a Vessels song Leaving This World Behind: “Soft” vocals in verses and amazing voice in chorus Devolution: HUGE Other Worlds Than These vibes, and INSANELY good chorus break down Annihilated Love: Perfect Machine but better, also has a really nice bridge and chorus Alchemy: Sounds like Carnivore and Bringing It Down mixed together, and the pre chorus to the second chorus is AMAZING Disappear: Amazing lyrics, especially in the bridge and chorus This Endless Endeavor: AMAZING guitar sounds and the pre chorus (I get lost in the world sometimes) sounds a lot like a part of Diving Bell Symbiotic: Most catchy chorus and really up beat vibes Dreamcatcher: HEAVY Transmissions vibes Tunnelvision: Television. Basically Telekinetic 2.0 Infected: Also has one of the best bridges of all time Something Wicked: Best build up of any song with an amazing vocal range
i actually think its their weakest album to date. IMO transmissions > vessels > divisions > horizons. time does its thing i guess. BUT horizons is still amazing and im happy theyre still making music. something wicked, disappear, icarus are amazing tracks S tier level and im glad they exist
@@Crackz0r94 I agree, but I think transmissions > vessels > horizons > divisions. But not too sure about the last two. But when I started listening to Transmissions and Vessels, I realize how cool they are compere to Divisions and Horizons. And the main point is: songs in firts 2 albums written more complex and diversed in terms of structure. When I listen to HORIZONS, I can start be bored when DREAMCATHER, TunnelVision and Infected have the same progression and 3d Chorus sounds exactly the same as 1st and 2nd Chorus. And the 2nd point is: song connection not too good as on the 1st albums. The Breach and Otherwordly are not connected at all. LTWB and Devolution also not connected - instrumentation outro from LTWB cutted very rough. BUT I still love STARSET, and hope next album will be thier best or at least as good as firts 2 albums. I also want more cosmic songs from them.
@@Crackz0r94 for me it is Vessels > Horizons >/= Transmissions > Divisions. I think this album could have used with a bit more variation in style, but it is easily the best production quality. It is also lyrically very good, and I like the use of more guitars, it feels a bit different from their other albums. I think Vessels had that perfect balance of style, but Horizons is up there for me.
thank you! am i a musician? kind of. the music i make is in the hip hop comedy genre and i do diss tracks with my cousin so its really far from starset lol. i used to play the guitar but i quit, now i just love to do vocals
@Vernal Mandy :D hard to not love it. it was my #1 song on the album but ive been listening to Disappear so many times i think they switched places. also dont forget Icarus amazing shit gotta be at least #3
I don't think that C#5 is an actual note he sang. I'm terrible at screaming, but I can manipulate the perceived "pitch" of the note I'm screaming with the shape of my mouth. But that isn't an actual pitch. The C#4 in the background (and I could imagine like a falsetto C#5 layer in there) is the one that gives it an actual pitch
@@Crackz0r94 as I said, I don't think it has a pitch. The pitch we hear is coming from the background vocals. Listen to Gojira - Toxic garbage island. That guy is known for using this technique to achieve a "pitched scream", which once again isn't the pitch of the scream, but the pitch of the background vocals.
Yeah I agree. The C# is in there somewhere but it's a straight scream. It is possible to mix screaming and a belt into a sorta super-distorted singing, but he's not doing that here
i love the album but i think its their weakest cos theres too many mediocre songs and shit. but i really love ICarus, Something Wicked, and Disappear. vocal wise im happy hes belting high while pushing the limit of his voice and it looks like he even expanded his high range a tiny bit but im a bit disappointed by the lack of usage in the low range. he really could pull some boomy stuff in the low range if he wanted
