This song was written by Petula Clark, who is most famous for singing 'Downtown'. (To be clear, she didn't write Downtown or most of her other hits, but she did write several songs, including this one.)

Man, I haven't heard this song in ages. I don't remember where I was the first time I heard it because I was six when it came out but I have always liked the upbeat tempo of the song. Five O'clock World is my favorite song by The Vogues, now that I am older the lyrics have alot more meaning to me.

Your the One was also done by Sugar Bears (cartoons). 3/11/72 hit # 51 on the Billboard. I'm 61 had this record that was cut out from a box of Sugar Crisp cereal. Golden crisp of today. Back then a lot of records were free and cut out from a box of cereal. I also have The Vogues Greatest Hits on cd.

Heard the Vogues on the radio today ... had to come back to your reaction. It's just so special, particularly the brunette on the left. Swim, jerk, wave, etc... too cool for school. BTW, back in the day, lip-sync was the standard for TV shows. If the song faded, like it would do on the radio, the band wasn't singing live. Not wrong, just normal.

You got the wrong video. Look at the one Bobby Cole uploaded from 1965, the go-go dancers are great in that one. I have seen them in other videos, such as Byrds "I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better". Also "I Fought the Law" by Bobby Fuller, where they are all wearing holsters. Best go-go dancers ever. Really hot. Although those for the "Easybeats" doing "I'll make you happy" are great to, Australian probably.

If you want to check out some sixties dance moves, with lots of wonderful clips from TV shows of the same period, try the youtube video of The Gentrys - "Keep on Dancing". An unintentionally hilarious dance video is Johnny Rivers - "Under Your Spell Again". For some mysterious reason a young black girl (she looks about sixteen), with some serious dance moves, has been parachuted into a studio full of white people who couldn't be more wooden if they tried.

Always liked this song. Suggestion, try Glen Campbell’s “I Guess I’m Dumb.” ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k_Yj9oHikgY.html The song was written, arranged, and produced by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. Kind of a thank you to Glen for filling in for Brian on tour until a permanent tour replacement was found. Very Bacharach like tune.

This song was not sung live at the time... So, the Vogues had to pretend to be singing... I paid little notice to the dancers, I was listening to the song: their harmony and vocal range... Good song co written by Tony Hatch and Petula Clark... Top 10 song for the Vogues, who also did My Special Angel and Turn Around, Look At Me.... I wish you had reacted to the song itself and not get so distracted from the mini skirts and dancing...... the voices are very good.... You should give them another go, and actually listen to their singing this time....

This was a Petula Clark and Tony Hatch song from 1965. And even though the Petula Clark version was much better, the Vogues had the chart hit. It was their first hit, even though they had formed way back in 1958 as a doo-wop group. Their lead baritone , Bill Burkette, towered over the other three. The only group to look even more incongruous were the Crests. Their base, and founding member, J T Carter, was much taller than the others. And their lead vocalist, Johnny Maestro, was the shortest of all (despite wearing lifts). Their best song (in my opinion) was "Trouble in Paradise". They were the first interracial doo-wop group. Their original line up consisting of three African-Americans (including Luther Vandross's sister), one Puerto Rican and one Italian American.

I'll check later music reviews oh I guess over a couple months or so and never really paid a whole lot of attention to it before but on this particular video I really picked up on something that I hadn't picked up on before and that is your eyes and how you can express so much just with your eyes I noticed it when you was kind of jamming with them back background singers dancers whatever and then at the very end there when you was getting ready to go into your review there you made that one I left it I kind of got the idea of what you were trying to say in that but I never really picked up on that before I mean I've seen you doing a lot of your characters and I've seen you doing other stuff besides the music but I never really noticed before just how really much you say would your eye movement and your eyes so nothing bad or anything just just thought I'd tell you that I can definitely kind of get an idea of what's in your head just by what your eyes tell me.
