'The Walk' visual effects supervisor Kevin Baillie - Variety Artisans 

The movie celebrates both Philippe and the towers themselves. The effects are just amazing. Even on a fairly small computer screen, the sense of scope and height are just amazing to behold. A lot of modern techniques for this super heavy use of Green/Blue screen were in fact pioneered by the Star Wars prequels. And now the technology can deliver such breathtaking results.

It's amazing how VFX have developed, It all looks so photorealistic down to every detail!

Phillipe Petite, one of my hero's. A man with an art form that is indescribable, truly profound. This man walked on a tightrope across the 2 world trade towers that were in New York, Some may think he was crazy to do so, but I think it was true art in its purest form. After coming down from his walk on the rope, the New York police and journalists kept asking him the same stupid question "Why did you do it?" why? why?, there can be no such question, such a question is totally unnecessary and meaningless to ask. It is like asking a great mountaineer why he wants to stand on top of Everest, it is like asking why did Angelo paint his works of art? Art has nothing to do with "Why" it has more to do with the fact that it is there to be done, and more to do with the human spirit and what we are as humans, and what makes us human. When Phillipe Petite walked across the tightrope strung between the world trade centre, he became art, ART in its truest sense, in its most purest undiluted form. Even to their eyes the stunned onlookers, from way below, knew that something graceful and remarkable was taking place way above them, something extraordinary, something that made their hearts leap with utter amazement and with joy. I wish I had been there to witness this great man doing this. This man is the epitome of what humanity is, he is the man that spits in the face of death with a smile, and still lives to tell his graceful and elegant tale. I cry with tears at his art, and what he did in New York, why do I cry? I do not really know, tell me?

The Walk honors the legacy of the Twin Towers.

It's so great for this sort of thing to be made before the man that the movie is about has died.

The greatest visual effects ever created for a film. Saw it in IMAX 3D and it was the most real and terrifying experience Ive ever had. Pure cinema.

Even on my 47 inch TV it was heart stopping! This film is beautiful and what these people accomplished was nothing short of miraculous. I loved how they seemed to imbue the entire film with Philippe's spirit. I did cry for the entire last half hour though. 😭😂😭😂

This is beyond courageous. It's crazy and I don't condone it, but it's also a miracle what he did. He should be put in the Guinness book of World records.

This kind of capacity for full-CGI environments makes me think of how different the Star Wars Prequels would be if Lucas waited fifteen years.

Maaan, while being herbally amused, i realized. Visual effects like these, and therefore movies like these, that have some actual meaning and value, are only way to show for the future generation. How something actually happened by recreating it super realistic. Just woow. Probably gonna watch whole movie if i can stay up somehow :D Oh and the point was. In the actors case and especially tthe ones that are in such movies, is that they have true cultural meaning for everyone, not like some boy band or cheap ass movie start in hallmark movies. On musicians its another case... oh well. Doesnt matter. None of this makes sense "post" :D

Great movie about following your dreams...simply that. No reason, money or political motivation which has become common place these days. Shallow people doing stuff for reasons other than passion, selfies, bullshit. The movie is a nice piece of art in an industry "loaded" with dischargeable movies.
