Hello Hello Hello. Welcome to the FORTY-THIRD episode on my channel of - THE WALKING DEAD. Don't forget to like and subscribe!!! Channel Instagram: / danielreadd #thewalkingdead #rickgrimes #apocalypse #thelastofus #disneyplus
This is one of the saddest episodes of the entire series. I really hate the fact that Rick's group separated and had to leave the prison. I think Hershal smiled at the end because he was so proud of Rick for everything he accomplished. Rick was so desperate to make a deal with the Governor. It broke my heart seeing Rick and Carl so devastated and leaving the prison without Judith.
Hershel smiled because Rick was repeating what Hershel said to him in S4E1. Hershel told Rick "you get to come back, you do". So, he was proud that Rick took it to heart and is now preaching it himself.
If you didn't notice...the lady walker at 21:07 is the woman Rick met in the woods who killed herself after trying to lure Rick to feed him to her walker husband in the first episode of this season....meaning Rick did as she asked of him and let her turn so she could be with Eddie.
@@DanReadd I honestly probably would've never noticed it on my own. I'm always wayyy too upset in all the chaos and heartbreak in this episode...Hershel gets me every time. 😭 I learned it from a season recap video on RU-vid after watching this season quite a few times. 😅
I'm here for the trauma bonding.😅 I loved Daryl arming everyone & the widening of Carl's eyes before they all opened fire. Oh & that sweet sweet smile from Hershel as Rick gave his speech. RiP to Scott Wilson, who played Hershel. Great actor.💔
The Governor wasn't going to survive that sword through his body, she didn't finish him off because she wanted to make him suffer through the pain. I always cry when Hershel is killed, that man has been through so much and just got finished saving everyone in the prison's life. He was our hope and moral compass. Rick just lost his greatest mentor, Maggie and Beth lost a great father, and everyone in that prison lost a great friend. What made me cry even harder was Judith, now that killed me.
His real name is Philip. Milton, for example, knew him before he become "The Governor", and that's why he (and some of the other residents of Woodbury) called him Philip. They knew his real name.
Not sure if anyone else caught it but at 21:06 that is the Irish woman that attempted to lure Rick to feed to her dead husband in episode 1 of the Season.
not gonna lie, your reaction made me cried all over again. i understand how you feel, i was there when the episode aired and i can't stop crying that day. this is such a heartbreaking and amazing episode at the same time. goodbye Hershel, you are one of the best character we've ever met.
For all those that have watched this show many times over the years, you know Dan is about to get into the heart of the show and lots of things will happen. With that being said, the mods are going to be working overtime to make sure he does not get spoiled on anything. Please don't be that person. Remember how you felt the first time you watched all the pivotal moments. We want him to feel the same way. We won't tell you when he will be looking at the comments or if at all. Just know you have been warned. Also, no links or mention of the comics. Also, no mention-"Get your tissues ready". Thanks ~Mod
They kind of did. They had the emergency busses but I think everything happened so quickly and it was so chaotic that nobody really knew what to do or panicked and forgot.
In 2015 i met scott wilson in atlanta. such a kind and personable man. he gave me and my mother way more of his time then he needed to and gave us both a big warm hug at the end. RIP MR. Wilson
Michonne is the one who sent those messages to Governor. I stated that 2 episodes ago lol. This is my favorite episode because it had the greatest war for me and it hit me HARD when Governor chopped off Hershel's head. I got so mad at that and I did love how Lizzie and Mika helped in the fight. Governor is the greatest villain in TWD history imo. His whole arc was amazing for me and kept me tuned in every single week. You never knew what was going through his dark mind. Hershel was such a great moral compass after Dale too and seeing him go that way was so hard to watch but it's what made Governor such an amazing villain.
Fun fact: (stick with me here, sorry it’s long!) Season 3 aired during my freshman year of high school, and my best friends (whose parents were never around) basically had the go-to trap house, where every week night and weekend there were anywhere from 10-50 high school kids of different grades and from all kinds of cliques, all came together to party. Every Sunday night we all gathered in the basement and watched The Walking Dead on the big projector. When Herschel died, the shock through out the room was palatable. It was intense. Guys yelling, girls screaming, both guys and girls crying. Those who dealt with emotions by using anger were cussing up a storm. Some sat there in absolute shock and said nothing. We had several kids who just got up and walked away. All of us smoked cigarettes at the time, and afterwards we all just sat and stood around the back porch and smoked our cigs, completely traumatized. We were engaging in conversation about where Judith went, and about the Governor’s true motives. What was next. If Carol would come back. There were very passionate discussions, some of us yelling during it (not at others just in general). And most of all everyone was just completely freaking devastated about Herschel. It was chaos, man.
Did you noticed Lilly looks A LOT like Maggie and Andrea? Most fans noticed the "Maggie-like face" but in my last rewatch of S4 all I could see was a brunette Andrea without the violence hunger lol The actress (Audrey Anderson) did audition for Maggie's role back in the day. imo she was called to play Lilly as a kind of a easter egg, you know, to be a look-alike from 2/3 women we saw had a toll on Phillip's arc. Edit: I apologise if my english it's bad, hope it is understandable at leats 😂 Lots of love from Spain ❤
"Ew" I had the same reaction. lol RE: Killing kids, "Philip" said he could threaten Hershel's kids because they aren't his.... well, neither is Meghan his kid.... but he had already referred to her as if she were his actual daughter, so, he was lost already. Aw, Stick with it. I know you will love many of the episodes ahead. Sure, it is a roller-coaster, but it is a fun one that won't actually collapse and kill you in real life. It's sweet that you continue to want to look for the best in people. It is an admirable trait and a necessary one for some professions. Of course, this is a work of fiction, and so it is okay to root for the Governor's death.
Hershel had a profound (positive) affect on people. Rick, Carl, so many people he was able to impart wisdom to. Carl was restored to who he was (before he had been through so much trauma), in part, due to Hershel. You really cant underestimate just how much of a positive force Hershel was within that community. I can just relate so much to your reaction to this episode! I spent a week to ten days after this episode in a funk because of what happened. Still lots of questions by the end of the episode. The group is seperated from eachother. What will become of them now?? I completely understand your reaction to this episode. And its good that you were able to view TWD 4×8 without having any "spoilers". It's just better to allow other viewers to have their own experience as they watch the series for the first time. Hang in there Dan! This was an especially difficult episode to encounter. Stay tuned, see you in the next TWD episode! 👍
Makes me feel better knowing that Dan has been busy and not just ignoring the comments section. I miss seeing him in here & I was fearing it was something else. Hope everything goes well for everyone, have a great week ✌️
@@ellereacts528 Gotcha thanks 🙏 Def getting there. I'm glad to hear he's got so much stuff going on & everything is going well, health is good, etc. I appreciate the explanation
Rip Hershel and Julio who died in this episode, the governor has been killed, Andra, Merle, Hershel, Axel, Oscar, Milton, Martinez, Shumpert and Julio, Rip Scott Wilson who played Hershel he died on October 3 2018 from Leukemia at the age of 76
To see your reaction this early on the morning just made my day. Don't feel bad for feeling the way you did about Phillip. Alot of us did. the butthead changed again great usual. Keep up the great work reactions it really does gy better
Great reaction Dan. I've been waiting for this one. It's one of the best episodes of the series. And don't worry about being off schedule because we get it, and you'll get back into it eventually.
So found your channel yesterday and now that im here i have to say. For everyone who comes and goes in the show from start to finish, hershels death gets me harder then anyone.
Once again a friendly reminder! Please No spoilers. I understand a lot of you are excited for Dan to get to certain parts but please do not post, I cant wait for you to see this episode, or this season. That is a spoiler, or speaking of characters, character arcs ect... are all spoilers. All the other awesome mods and myself have said so as well so please do not spoil anything. Or your comment will be deleted. We want Dan to be able to experience his first time watching The Walking Dead spoiler free. Thank you all for supporting Dan! I know he really appreciates it! Thank you ~ Mod 🧟♀️
It made me so MADDDD. Like ofc I was sad, but rage was taking over big time. Ugh so fed up of PhilGovBri. Seriously this episode felt like a stab in the back.
such a genuine reaction. Poor Dan, earlier I think the last reaction he was saying how he didn't believe in the death penalty... then double tap that.. We all felt the same pain in the episode. My favorite character aside from Rick is gone.
Wow just wow ive been anticipating your reaction for this episode. This episode is so hard to watch. I still cry everytime I see it. But seeing how proud Hershel was of Rick when Rick said we can all live together. It was such an inspiring moment then devastation 💔. Incredible reaction as always Dan. I know its really hard but i promise the show is worth it. Theres been many times. I'd like to say all of us TWD fans have said.. man, i think im done. Yet i would keep watching, lol. Hang in there Dan!
@@DanReaddYeah, she stabbed him through the heart and he was a goner that was going to get eaten alive by walkers. His girlfriend unknowingly put him out of his misery.
The episode was named Too Far Gone, Rick, and Herschel came back from their darkness, the Governor though had been too far gone since the apocalypse happened. Some people are just evil, irredeemably evil.
I just wanna point out why I think Rick didnt have the upper hand against the governor and that's because I think he was not at 100% in that fight. Had he been I think he would of been able to hold his own. Michonne left the governor because she wanted him to suffer I think Lilly finishing him off was right because it was because of him Megan died.
They can’t just leave, this is the only safe place they’ve had. And now they have a baby, being on the road with a baby is so hard so that’s why Rick doesn’t want to leave he’s thinking of his kids and his community.
I know! I'm not sure how you could simply say " just leave" The prison was their home and safety. They have children and elders including the ones that they took in from Woodbury. I wouldn't "just leave" especially if I was willing to work things out so that everyone was safe inside. And Phillip's group destroyed the prison so it was useless as a protective area! Phillip had no intention of giving any quarter to Rick or anyone there. Anything he does that others might disapprove of he just lies his way out of. I admit I've never thought he's shown any positive attributes. Ugh! Good riddance.
Everytime I try to understand your thought process. I just can't 😅😂. I respectfully agree he is not bad . He is just evil . I don't know 🤔 I have ??. Just my opinion 😂😂
Probably the Best Episode Ever of this series.. It was a roller coaster of emotions.. Very well-directed. I was so upset after watching this episode. I hated The Governor so much more than Negan. This was the peak of TWD’s golden era!
Bro obviously the govnor wouldnt make it out of that stab, Michonne literally had a katana through his body. She wanted him to suffer or maybe get eaten by the walkers hahaha
When it got to the point where Hershel died I was beyond pissed not even sad I was simply angry. When Michonne stabbed it I was relieved, she wanted him to suffer hell I wanted it to suffer because she knew it wouldn’t live longer with a chest wound like that. Your reaction was good and emotional keep it up, I can’t wait to see more from you you’ve really became one of my favorite reactors! Also be prepared for the journey ahead, some tissues may be in order. 🥲
YES. I was so angry I could barely cry too. It just felt like such a kick in the gut ya know. We built so much, survived so much, and suffered so much.. it really felt like we were reaching a sliver of calm. But now, Phillip was always there lurking, and we suffer… AGAIN. Thanks for your comment mate!! 😊
I stopped watching for a decade as a kid after this lol. I also never understood the governor and hated his screen time. The shows worth pushing through this rough bit for sure
I skipped your reaction to last episode because I get you wanting to see all sides and find good but knowing this episode and what happens, I just can't care about "Phillip/Brian." It's an energy drain
