No matter if she said Rick or not, poor Daryl. So Daryl has to be thinking she said Rick and/or Michonne. He has been looking for his brother for so many years, hears that, and gets swept across the ocean. My mans luck at getting captured has hit the ultimate fu.

Morgan was on his way back to Alexandria when we last saw him so it was probably him. I just think if it were Rick she would have been a bit more excited and told Daryl first thing when they started talking IMO.

I think Carol is talking about Dwight. If it was Rick, there would be zero small talk before getting it out. Same with Michonne. Darryl would be perfectly fine with Morgan returning, but he wouldn't necessarily need to be told over the radio. Now Dwight - given how things ended between them, I could see her wanting to give him a heads up.

Carol definitely said rick. She said "ick", he came back . The r got cut out. What im thinking is rick came back, but CRM Foumd the commonwealth, and rules over them😭 and thats why she was scared to say anything about rick because the phones are being monitored

Just so you know : the "big castle" is the Mont-Saint-Michel and this is the "6th republic" cause we french are currently under the fifth republic since De Gaulle pronounced it in 1958 (yes,yes we had 4 others since the Revolution)

This episode was pretty cinematic. Great character building and action. I think TWD had too many main characters, to have been written properly. This show’s writers are exceptional

What we already saw about the Super Walker is they only last 18 seconds before exploding. Madam Genet said the fight would be short, thinking Daryl will die quick. I say Daryl swings that axe, whacks that head off, and it explodes. Great episode, great reaction! As for Carol, I think she was afraid someone was listening to her. CRM?

I think if it was Rick it would be the first thing Carol would’ve said to him and not the small talk at the beginning. Like it would be an immediate thing to shout down the radio to him to get him buck it home. My theory is either Morgan or Dwight and sherry. Someone important but not important enough to rush Daryl home

This was the best episode so far. Wow I thought Carol said Rick to but she would have said Rick is alive instead of saying he’s back. It would make more since she was talking about Michoone instead of Rick which scares me because if it turns out it’s Michoone without Rick then that must mean he’s going to die in the spin-off. I can’t handle that😭

There's something interesting about Carol's scene in the Spanish version she actually says "He... came back" and I think that ONLY Rick came back... maybe Michonne gave her life for him?

I can’t help thinking, Genet and the dr in the end scene of world beyond are the same person. She’s doing experiments in walkers. Making them worse not better. Causing major problems for France. If you look back, her coat looks the same just worn out in WB. I think that scene is much later in the timeline than DD. As a result of what’s happening now.

The actress that played in the world Beyond might not be available so they got somebody to look just like her because this guy that came in and shot that lady said about the experiments and this is what this lady does experiment on the did so she might be the doctor in the world Beyond at the end they got shot in the French Laboratory

@@babufrik29the discussion on WB was the people have been hunting down and killing the group that made the extreme variants. The Dr looks older and is trying to get the data needed to continue research when she is killed. I think that took place after what happens in Daryl’s series or later in the timeline.

In Spite of their tactics, the World Beyond scientists seemed to be trying to make things better, Genet is giving me Governor vibes, but on a national level instead of just a small town. When Laurent told Genet her heart is broken, her reaction gave me the same edge of insanity vibes as the Governor. I don’t think she’s looking for a cure or to make things better, just to gain absolute power for herself.

You asked the same question I asked while watching. Quinn is clearly a “bad guy” but he is really a **BAD** guy to the point of needing to be murdered? I could see them taking him in that direction. But currently I see him in more a gray area than outright evil. Will be interested to see where they go with him next.

He reminds me of Dwighty boy back in season 7, before he helped Rick and Daryl defeat Negan. Dwight was a bad guy but not to the point of killing him. I do think he’s going to help Daryl escape! Can’t wait for the finale

I think eventually Quinn is going to become an ally of Daryl and Isabel and as far as to whatever it was, they injected me with that walker when its eyes turned black I was like holy freaking crap. That is insane almost like it became a super walker, like it was all juiced up on adrenaline or something And also the one in Walker liquor store, the guy apart with his hands and it was running. I was like now we’re getting somewhere and this is the first episode that I watched since episode one where I have been intrigued from beginning to end because I haven’t really cared that much for episodes 2-4 but they’ve been OK And now I can say that, so four episode five has been the best episode from beginning to end

I know I said they probably won't go the religious route but something makes me think that I'm not so sure. When Laurent said, "You're not angry. You're heart broken." to Genet, it shocked her! Because how would Laurent know if he doesn't know her? How did Laurent know that Quinn is his father? Is he just guessing? Are the writers messing with us just to make us believe that Laurent is some sort of messiah? I think there's gonna be a shocking revelation that will answer that question.

Laurent has shown that he is an empath. With Genet, he realizes that she has lost someone. As for Quinn being his father, he overheard Daryl and Isabelle talking. Otherwise, he wouldn't have known.

I think that they (TWD) knows everyone wants that to be Rick but I think Carol said 'Negan is back'.. thought I heard an 'N' in the distortion (but hey i could be wrong lol)

It’s worth searching online for pics of Mont Saint Michel. It’s very cool. You can see from pics why it would be a good place to set up a base in the apocalypse. It never fell to the English during all the medieval wars, if I recall my HS French classes correctly. 😅 And Sixth Republic refers to French history. In our world we’re currently in the Fifth Republic. So they’re probably trying to set up a new French state/regime. Maybe they have some relations with factions or new states in the former US, but they’re clearly trying to set up a new French state.

This episode is proof that Norman Reedus needed a lot of prominence in the main series, he demonstrated his acting talent on many emotional levels in just 5 episodes, he deserved this "Hero" role much sooner. Daryl Dixon has a better story than Rick Grimes. Obviously they are both on different levels, but Norman is gaining popularity, not to mention that if Andrew had continued with his role, they would both be fighting over who is the main character of the Walking Dead series.

Daryl did have some of the worst standalone episodes on TWD, which is why I thought this show be one huge flop, but it's better than the main show. So far, Fear a huge flop, its got worst every season with poor writing behind it. The Negan and Maggie spin off wasn't great, and wasted 2 good characters.

You think the actors would be competing over being the main character? I doubt that. Can't see the characters fighting over that either. Darryl steps up to that role when he is asked and he sees its needed. Rick doesn't need to be told. Both great, but different.

@@Sabrina.682 Exactly. Daryl has had a poor self-image since childhood. He does NOT see himself as a leader. He is FAR more effective as a "right hand man" supporting a leader. We saw that when Rick, mistakenly, I think, put him in charge of the Sanctuary. Daryl steps up when he is needed, but is not the sort of person to take charge, unless it's necessary.

This was a great episode. I really really enjoyed it. Rick and Michonne is back, bcuz I refused to believe Rick would go back home without Michonne after they have found each other again. I wasn’t mad at Daryl for yelling at Laurent, Daryl was frustrated but he apologized in the end. R.I.P. Azlan 😢. I didn’t notice on my two watches that Quinn flipped Genet off till I watched your reaction 😂, that woman is so lying to them people she don’t want peace she wants chaos. I would like to see who she lost and how she got in power. Great reaction y’all see you in the finale.

Unless I missed it, I'm surprised no one mentioned that not only did that variant on the ship run up steps & just tear into that dude, but hello he didn't start to EAT him!!!! He turned and then went straight for Daryl. Why would he do that? When we have always been trained to associate walkers w wanting to get to a "food source", what if the goal is to take that need away, well then it sounds like to me uve got urself one heck of a super soldier & that's what her experiments have all been about. Just my theory

I thought this episode was the best of the season so far. Incredibly paced and so much was shown. It really sounds like Carol says "Rick came back" but I don't want to believe Carol could mention that so casually to Daryl over the radio. UNLESS there was a reason why it was hard for her to say. Maybe Michonne doesn't make it back?

We haven't seen Carol being told Rick is alive but surely one of those three I mentioned would have told her. Especially considering it's been years since Michonne has gone and at least 1 whole year since Judith told Daryl

If she was gonna say "Rick is back" then she wouldn't have waited. Its the first thing she'd say. Same with Michone. Morgan is on his way back, which is newsworthy & worth mentioning. Dwight & Sherry might be heading back too. She might not have been as quick to say that, given their past. Also Maggie was away for a bit so she could've said that. Its a bit out there, but Heath is still missing so he may have returned. That would be real "who cares" moment. Tbh the Writers probably have no idea who it even is. They just had her say it to keep their options open. Then it'll turn out to be some character that existed for 5 seconds in Series 2 and they returned as a Walker, so they put him down straight away. 😂

Isabelle knows Quinn would never let her go. She only went back to him so she could arrange safe passage for Laurent and Daryl. She want to meet them at the nest and she doesn’t want Quinn to follow her there. Also Daryl went to work for those guys to get fuel so he could go straight home. He told Carol he would be back in a week. What I don’t understand is what was on the note she received?

Daryl didn’t have much of a connection with Morgan except for the episode when Morgan saved Daryl and Aaron. So that wouldn’t be that impactful for the audience. I could see her talking about Dwight though

as from the beginning the series diverts us with action or references to the wd universe. Genet's speech is very important, she explains that the USA created the zombie virus and she says that France has found a cure the super zombies; she wants revenge on her former historical allies who started the apocalypse which explains why scientists collect zombies from the usa

Great episode! When Carol said, “it takes getting used to” we seen Daryl’s pause and his face changed. I don’t think it’s Rick, Bit I would be geeked if NEAGAN came back looking for Maggie and Hershel and now he’s the old Neagan again. I would flip out!!! Carol would be comfortable to say Morgan because he is the one who took her to the Kingdom. Since this is season 1, couldn’t be Rick or they would all come to rescue Daryl in season 2 if Carol showed up. FINALEEEEE HYPPPEEE!!!!!

On the ship, the 2 groups of walkers in the cage, I don't think "fast" is the sense of speed, it's about not feeding them "fasting". Cause the one next to it says feed, I guess another part of the experiment

I agree with a lot of the comments -- Carol wouldn't say "Rick is back" when everyone thought he was dead. I'm really curious to see where this goes. I haven't enjoyed TWD like this in a long time! Daryl Dixon is killing it!

They found out he's alive in the finale. That's the main reason Daryl left, was to look for Rick (and Michonne)

The creators of the show have said the person who came back isn't anyone obvious that fans think it will be and that it's something important to Carol's story going forward. Perhaps it could be Heath, or Virgil since she didn't seem too overly eager to tell Daryl on the radio chat.

Amazing episode. Quinn actually calls Daryl an American ponce, which is a very British insult. We don't generally tend to use the word putz. Also, why are they getting walkers from the USA and not from the surrounding countries in Europe?

I'm unsure why Laurent doing the usual annoying kid stuff doesn't bother me in this case. The scene by the river with him and Daryl kinda broke my heart, Daryl repeating likely what his dad did to him and realizing his mistake right after. Great stuff from Norman. Also I def think Carol is talking about Morgan or Dwight & Sherry.

Ok, they are trying to jump start the walkers circulatory system. On world beyond the CRM was working on that. Remember when the walker was wearing the elec stuff and it short circuited. They are building a walker army! But to fight who?

I believe it can’t be Rick & Michonne and this is why: 1. Too obvious 2. Carol would've led/been more excited with/for that 3. Why would it be something she has to get used to? 4. Timelines seem off 5. Carol & Morgan were beefing half the time already

Carol chatted a bit, before saying (someone) is back. If it was Rick, she'd have been more excited and it would've been the first thing she said to Daryl. So, I'm assuming it's Michonne or Maggie returning alone to the Commonwealth. As I expect, only one so-called survivor of Dead City. Negan might still be there. There will be another season of Daryl Dixon, I think Daryl and Laurent will make their way back to the Commonwealth with the mad French scientists and deviant walkers in hot pursuit.

Carol could be talking about Morgan, but Dwight would make more sense or possibly negan, with negan it does make sense, he did promise Maggie son that they would fight when he gets older in the finale of the main show.

I think Carol sounds sad because Commonwealth is under attack from CRM . And maybe Carol saw Rick as a CRM soldier. She would definitely be confused and happy he's alive at the same time . Confused as to why Rick is against them and with the enemy

I think Carol said that Rick came back but without Michonne. Imagine, writers are saying that The Ones Who Live will be very emotional and it's only six episodes. It makes sense somehow.

I started out thinking maggie "came back"... then I shifted to morgan... now, I'm camping on Dwight. it has to be morgan or Dwight. Morgan said he was coming back to our group. Dwight is in previews for the last half of season 8 fear, where he returns to the sanctuary. I thought Morgan left way ahead of when dwight/sherry seem to... but fear writers smoke that crack, so I don't put a lot of weight into their timline or plot points. - but yeah, dwight or Morgan. That's what I'm leaning towards. 😊

Man... This episode has kind of pulled me back in to the Walking Dead spinoff. Those variant walker's are a huge problem. If they were the original walker's. Man...not many survivors would be left.
