There was a lot of criticism of the fake Glenn death at the time but I always kind of liked it because it made us have to assume he had died even though we technically didn't see it which gives us a greater understanding of how the characters in the show have to deal with it.

Im glad you all agree, i think what she does really well as well is with her 10 mins of video content she shows you the lead up scenes in anticipation of the reaction where most try and get you there as quick as possible and falls flat mostly. And in that way i always feel like i remember the whole episode in the great way she has edited. We love you Lacey and Steve (I'll give Lacey top billing this time 😉)

Honestly, I was surprised you guys didn't think of the possibility of Glenn surviving when episode 3 happened. But I was also happy because that makes the shock even more shocking on this episode. Glenn is a survivor 🤟 and enid has alot of learning to do from his wise words.

@@tylermitchell.420 Because it was the moment TWD jumped the shark. First of all a show like this should be above cheap publicity stunts like this. Second of all because Glenn could not have gotten out of that, the way he fell his head should be away from the dumpster and with that many walkers around him its completely unbelievable that every single one of them just went for Nicholas. Thirdly, it was insanely predictable but they decided to keep us waiting for weeks afterwards anyway. Fourth, it made the show feel too safe, until now death meant something, but through Season 6 it became clear that Glenn had plot armour and no matter how certain a death he faced he he would always survive.

Vindication! For all the people out there who said that Rick's nothing like Shane: from Deputy Grimes' mouth, "You already almost died for these people." Proof that Rick's still thinking Us v. Them. Can you honestly blame the guy? He'd Walk through FIRE for his people. Hell, he's the Moses of the zombie apocalypse. Rick &co. did their wandering in the desert. And Rick will die before he'll let this haven be taken away. His people come first. Especially his kids.

@@alamoja No, tbh I just like the fact that everyone gets so excited when you mention that Rick's like Shane. Everything else I posted is truly my opinion of Rick. As regards Shane I have always said that he's Rick's bad angel. Meaning that Rick has 2 ways to go on any choice but Shane's his like bad example. I just really love season 2&3! The walkers were still a MAJOR threat and the horror came a (little) more from them, not people. But any season of TWD is still TWD! 🧟🤠🤗

A friend of mine who also watches the show was convinced that Nicholas had fallen on top of Glenn and that it was really him that was torn up by those walkers... I think that final scene was analyzed like crazy by a lot of fans afterwards, and I saw that theory floated around a lot elsewhere. So when the this episode arrived and the reveal that Glenn survived was made, it wasn't too surprising for me. I think there's actually a large amount of the fans who felt this way as well. Either way, so glad Glenn made it! Next episode is great, can't wait to see your reaction to it!

Comic Comparisons : Spencer climbing the rope happens in the comics but very differently It’s a plan that Rick approves of and the reason for the plan being formulated is because Andrea (who is still alive at this point in the comics) was stuck in a bell tower near Alexandria that they used as a snipers perch The plan was to get Andrea some supplies so she could stay in the tower longer and keep watch Spencer Glenn and Heath climb across to get to Andrea Glenn and Heath manage to get across but the rope snaps on Spencer and he goes into the herd of walkers Glenn Heath and Andrea who made her way over to them.

I love The walking Dead and Glenn is my all-time favorite character but there's no way he survived that. Nicholas would have had to have been laying on top of him all the way from his head to his feet. If you remember Glenn was flailing around like he was being eaten, there's no way zombies would not have gone for his head or other parts that were sticking out. As much as I was thrilled that he was alive that was my "jump the shark" moment.

That was a few seconds of them mauling Nicholas, maybe 3 or 4 seconds. Glenn quickly went under the dumpster before getting bit. The luck factor played a role as well.

So happy you finally made it to this one. I remember, people were pissed and the show lost a lot of viewers at this point. I was just happy Glen was still with us. I think my age is showing too. TWD yanked everyone's chain with "Glenn is dead". The fandom poured over his death scene frame by frame to see IF he was not eaten. (It would have made more sense for Glenn & Nicolas to hide inside the dumpster and not on top of it... They could have killed a ton of walkers by popping up and going back inside the dumpster).

Sonequa Martin-Green, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Alanna Masterton and Seth Gilliam all are credited but not in the intro. None of them appear in the episode.

The fake out Glenn death was worse watching in real time. Look how many episodes were between his fall and his getting under the dumpster... Then consider 1 week per episode. The wall is reinforced in one direction against force from the outside. It was hit from the inside.

Holy shit indeed Lacey lol. Oh boy. Keeping that fake death of Glenn from you guys was hard cuz in one of the livestreams from like 2 weeks ago I believe, someone mentioned Glenn not being dead and Lacey, you were close to seeing that comment and I got so mad that I had to make a comment in the next episode to alert you guys and have the mods get on it quickly cuz that would've ruined it for you guys. And I couldn't mention it in the livestream cuz I didn't want to get your attention in case you read my comment of warning you guys about not seeing that. Luckily, there were many folks talking alot that day that the livestream was scrolling up quickly and you just missed it. This reaction was worth it. The mods and the fans pulled through for you guys so that you wouldn't get spoiled. Loved it! Freaking Glenn is like a cat with nine lives lol. This dude has been so close to dying many times over the seasons. Spencer's dumb as hell. When you're in a predicament like this where there are walkers right outside your walls and you decide, to go on your own without mentioning it to anyone, to go and try to distract the walkers away from home and there's a very good chance your plan will fail, then you alone will be the downfall of everyone's safety and that's a risk you shouldn't be willing to make. Freaking Spencer. I really don't like this guy. I was lowkey hoping the walkers ate him lol. But you called it Lacey. Morgan's off to fetch the doctor to help that Wolf guy and Rambo Carol is on a mission to get answers and intercept Morgan's plan. Ron's got a loaded gun and heading straight for Carl. Glenn's just made contact with those balloons and all of that will be put on hold now that the tower is literally falling on the wall. Aaaahhhh!!!! They just can't catch a break, can they? Dang it. darth ken81 you Misunderstood me, I meant walker related deaths, not human violence like a gunshot, not showing Andrea get bit was because they wanted a shocking moment with the reveal but when someone is taken out via a walker they don’t shy away from showing the violence like seeing Noah get ripped apart & other deaths like it, my point is they didn’t angle the camera so you didn’t see the actual bite, that was suspect from the second it happened.

A lot of people were angry but I still thought it was a cool scene for Glenn to look hopeless but find a way out and it just seemed obvious (atleast to me) that he would be alive because it would be a pretty strange way for a main character to go out like that by themselves. Just seems unnatural for how tv and movies go.

I have only one question in my mind that is how could the IMDb rating has dropped since season 7?cause till now TWD has continued to deliver such a intriguing story!!! And I love this show so much but whenever an episode comes to an end it leaves a big question what will happen in the next??? But till now they have killed so many main characters that it brokes my heart!!!please don't kill any other main characters!!!!

The entire fanbase was tricked with Glenn goin under the dumpster. 🤣 I remember bein on Twitter for live chats with some of the actors. We were SO mad. It was so funny. 🤣 We was like "Thank GOD Glenn isnt dead". They got us really good.

other guy fell on him so walkers were ripping the other guy guts out not Glen's, ye we all missed it but Glenn grabbed him like hugging from behind and fell back on the ground leaving the other guy on top of him, it was so obvious and yet we missed it, re-watching that part made it clear, so its brilliantly made

I was skeptical of Glenn's "death" in episode 3 from the moment it first aired, since (a) we never actually saw him die and/or turn, and (b) it was clear that Nicholas (a/k/a Tito, lol) was landing on top of him as they fell off the dumpster. It was meant to keep us guessing. The writers didn't kill Glenn off and then decide to bring him back when fans complained, as many thought at the time.

People were saying they didn't believe he was dead, at first. But as time went on (3 episodes aired) we began to believe. I, for one, wasn't angry at the deception. I thought it was brilliant. I live for this kind of shit in tv. LOL!
