Season 8 got off to such a strong start! I also love how we have EVERYBODY fighting against the Saviours. I really love the scene where Rick finds Gracie because you can just see the guilt in his face when he realises he killed her father. And what a shock it was to find Morales! It's so cool that we got to see where he ended up.
When Morgan says I don’t die It’s not out of confidence It’s more to him saying he gets to watch his family and friends die while he gets to live As if it’s a curse. Also the POW’S can be used for 2 things Either conversation to being one of them which He’s is hard but if they surrender then they surrender Also they can be worth something You can trade them for some of your people if something happens to people of our own.
I love the fact that because the Hilltop has the smallest fighting force they had to be supported by reserves form the other two communities so they’d have enough people to take on the satellite station.
It’s funny you called it “All Out War” in the beginning, which is what the story arc is called in the comics, unless you knew about that already lol I love the comparison of what Daryl saw seeing the prison that he had to be in, making him realize why he’s fighting them and Rick sees a baby, possibly making him pause in his aggression, because it could make him realize that their innocent people on both sides, especially seeing someone from his past that he knew to be a good man with a family on the other side.
So Gavin must have told Negan he didn’t want Jared in his Savior group anymore after he fucked up and killed Benjamin so Negan let him move Jared to the satellite outpost.
Great episode and more to come. When people who stopped watching mention how it's always the same thing I think about moments like Rick having to see himself in a mirror after killing Gracie's father and it's always so much more than just fighting an enemy on this show but its about choices.
it was so so smart of them to bring Morales back! Absolute madness, really shows how time changes things and how easily it could've been you on the other side as well season 8 will definitely hold a lot of unexpected surprises further down the road and some decisions characters make will be controversial👀 I'm so curious for what you guys will think of certain situations I really loved when Rick was looking at himself in the mirror after killing Gracie's father realizing what he just did. It's interesting that he is still struggling and makes you wonder If he's actually any better than Negan really to a certain degree..
This episode was such a shock seeing Morales again after so many years considering us fans asked the producers to bring him back from season 3, great review guys
Morales return shows that this world twists you It shows that if he turned bad then most of the Saviors were probably a Morales at one time before all this shit went down.
People call him JDM because those are his initials, "Jeffrey Dean Morgan", would advice you watch "Supernatural" another epic series that went for 15 season, spawned a spin off and also a lot of talk about bringing it back because the fans love it so much, gotta say there have been some really good TV show's have come out in the last 15 years, my list of favourite shows is getting pretty long. but that just means I've got more to choose from when i have a quiet day and just binge watch one. I loved them using the walkers to attack the saviours this episode. On state of decay (similar to dayz) i used to lure zombies to enemy groups and then pick them off as they were fighting
I love this episode The group’s raiding the outposts was awesome I like the conflicting views between Jesus/Tara (I 100% agree with Tara btw) and Morgan going full on terminator Rick killing the guy protecting his kid was actually really well done and unexpected Also seeing Morales again for the first time in like 7 Seasons was a really good ending.

Ok I’m not sure if anyone commented this yet but in the TWD community Morales coming back was a meme that started on the channel Trevschan2 around season 4-5 during live airings. It was such a ridiculous meme that anytime anything would happen everyone would be like “that’s Morales” So when this actually aired it was amazing. I never understood the hype around Morales return. Sure it was cool to see a season 1 character hanging in there, but the character just never did much. Looked off a building with Rick in Atlanta and thanking Andrea for catching the fish... That's about it
I have about 10 "reactors" I watch somewhat regularly and I like them all (or why would I watch them regularly), but I think you guys are my favorites. Two delightful (and different from each other) accents. But your rapport and keen observations are key. You notice a lot, which, because I've seen the series probably 5 times, I know when you are right and when you aren't so I admire when you hit a guess. I really love this top half of season 8. Enjoy!
Only three years have passed in the Walking Dead universe. So, Carl should technically be 15yrs old, but Chandler Riggs who plays Carl was 18yrs old during the film of S8, and aged faster than the shows actual timeline. Thats why Carl has aged ridiculously fast, and Judith has aged incredibly slow, and is still a toddler.
A brief explanation - I watched the Walking dead in its entirety back at the beginning of 2021 when I was going through some serious shit & although still loving it series 8 was a blur to me as I could not concentrate on it & was so massively distracted i cant remember much about it - I remember enough to watch along with you guys & am finally seeing that it was a great season & how much the show had evolved by this point. Thank you as always, Rob & Trin for making these beacons of fun in the week for us all - I know I speak for a lot of people in saying that your humanity, humour & emotional responses to TWD & FTWD are high points in our weeks. nothing but love to you and all who read this comment x

Thats a think Morgan sticks to is that he doesn't die so he's not afraid to do anything which can be scary. This episode is when I sided with Tara even tho Jesus is one of my favorite characters just bc he's showing mercy to them specially that dude crushing the pills
