This is not fully explained, the final outcome choice will also depend of the previous choises on the flashbacks of Clementine in "Ties That Bind: Part 2" & "Above The Law", Clem's path will differ, either choosing to go wherever Javier goes, go after David & Gabe, help Kate save Richmond or choosing whatever Javier doesn't choose in order to have everything covered(this case). -If Clementine accepted Ava's offer & injected AJ, Clementine will be loyal & she will follow Javi's lead. -If Clementine accepted Ava's offer & did not inject AJ, Clementine will be understanding & will go after Gabe. -If Clementine rejected Ava's offer & injected AJ, Clementine will be understanding & will go after Gabe. -If Clementine rejected Ava's offer & did not inject AJ, Clementine will be forgiving & will, again, go after Gabe. -If Clementine rejected Ava's offer, injected AJ & spat in David's face, Clementine will be cold & will go with Kate. -If Clementine rejected Ava's offer, did not inject AJ & spat in David's face, Clementine will be honest & will, again, go wherever Javi doesn't. -If Clementine accepted Ava's offer, injected AJ & spat in David's face, Clementine will be bold & will, again, follow Javi's lead. You have to choose going with Kate and let Clementine go after Gabe on the motorcycle alone. That’s the only scenario where both Kate and Gabe survive

Redemx pretty sure, the ending is effected If you shot Conrad, Clem trusts you and is loyal to you and helps you at the end, but if you let Conrad take her as bait to get into new frontier she goes and helps who ever you don't at the end, she will go seperate from what you choose at the end (help Kate or Gabe) so if she goes with you to help Gabe, Gabe and David both live but Kate dies. if you both help Kate, Gabe and David dies. If you go seperate, and you choose Kate, Clem goes after Gabe but David dies. If Clem goes with Kate and you go after Gabe, David dies but Kate goes missing. { this ending is the video. :)

late comment but I agree. Playing through Frontier right now and she's cute and all but she's kind of a space case. I also find it fucked up of her to try and get with Javi even though I'm literally the brother of her husband's. David is a dickhead but I'm not gonna go and date his woman like that so I had to turn her down.

So the choice was basically between Kate and David, not Kate and Gabe. I sent Clementine after Gabe and went with Kate, so both of them survived only thing is Javi didn’t get to say goodbye to David. But I guess that’s still the best ending for him because he gets to keep the two people he cares about most.

Just played season 3 through for the first time, I helped late save Richmond and David and Gabe both died, I think David turned and bit Gabe and I had to let Gabe kill himself so he didn’t turn, I’m shook that you can save both of them, and I’m sad the way it ended with David cause he was already dead when I got there

He didn't completely run out of ammo he just ran out of bullets in that mag. But when you're trying to save two people stuck in a car by drawing the zombies attention white about 4 meters from said car its hard to find time to reload.
