That carl scene made me cry. She broke down his walls and he finally opened up. Men always hold everything in. That scene deserves a award.

Another great reaction, guys. If Andy doesn’t win an Emmy for this performance and Danai doesn’t win an award for writing this episode, I will riot. ❤ What a magnificent episode. My favorite in all TWD and truly an acting masterpiece.

Danai deserves at least two Emmy’s for this one

I saw a comment on some other video pointing out that Michonne both gave Rick his first born son back and new son, RJ. Also, no need to apologize for not talking during that amazing scene on the bed, I’m so happy y’all weren’t talking over that scene. Y’all said plenty with your non-verbal reactions.

The phone portraits served as a symbolic "proof of life" (for lack of a better term) for both of them. The portrait of Michonne and Judith inspires a new hope in Michonne that Rick is alive. This would come full circle later when she gives him a portrait of Carl and in doing so - as you said - give him his son back. This episode toyed with themes of symbolic death and in particular "second death", the idea that a person dies twice - the first time when their body dies, and the second time when they are no longer remembered. Obviously Rick would never forget Carl, but he eventually does forget his face, which for Rick is essentially like losing him all over again. The portrait restores his memory of Carl, and in a way is his own proof of life - proof that he lived, and will continue to live on within Rick.

The most beautiful thing about TWD in general is that the characters matter. Either they died in season 1 or later, they will be referenced in a way or another. The simple thought of Daryl, or Carl in this episode make us emotional because it’s like a big family that we all share. That’s why I love this show so much and this spin off has been fantastic so far. That specific episode was necessary. Great writing and acting by Dania; as usual Andrew gave us a pristine performance.

Phenomenal storytelling, thank you Danai❤ Both of their performances were award winning. AMC just has to submit ANY scene in this episode for Emmy consideration. My favorite episode so far and a top episode of the entire series! Great reactions!

This was a really great reaction to a wonderful episode! Now that you understand Richonne, you can look back on the series and see how they built up the pairing. I was waiting for them to get together. It really was built up in a very natural way!!

Thank you! Someone FINALLY pointed out that they get turned on every time they in a fight. I've noticed this pattern and commented on it before. That action makes them want some "action." LOL

I'm glad we're not the only ones who noticed this. Like it has to be intentional at this point 😂

True! I kept getting “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” vibes. Slaying monsters turned the slayers on. Same here with these two warriors.

In the opening scene when you see the Roomba moving towards the large window, when the lightening flashes you can see the helicopter flying low over the body of water, so it was going to crash because it was flying too low, probably due to the storm. 12:23 Michonne taking off her armor is symbolic of her desire to separate herself from the CRM while Rick leaves his on as a sign of his reluctance to do so.

Great reaction. Rick is actually missing his left hand, but in case you need to do a lot of defense driving, you’d need two hands with a stick shift.
