Looks great! You had asked whether you should put up a Fence on the property line behind you. As I look at your view, of the commercial property, I definitely think the FENCE is the way to go. It also provides some safety at the drop off edge. Then you can add some plantings as desired to visually soften. 🌷

That wall looks great! You did a fantastic job. I really like the idea of the post and cable railing on the porch and wall. It would create continuity and keep it from looking chopped up. Also, just off the top of my head, the short pieces of crossties would make a great border for shrub/flower beds used vertically in varying heights.

The retaining wall looks great! When homes were built 40 years ago parking and driveways were kind of an afterthought because back then the average household had just one car. Now the average household might have 3 or 4 cars so improving the parking and driveway on your property is actually adding equity. Great job and I love that idea about the cable system for railings on the deck!😊

I love what you did. What are you going to do with the deck off of the house? It may be an idea to extend the deck out to the edge of the wall you built and are going to put that nice railing on. Go straight over to where the deck extends out and attach there. Make that entrance part to your deck area wider. Can you ever have too big of a deck? Nope. There is a peace out there where that house is. I can feel it. It is gonna be real cozy and relaxing out there on that side of the house. We enjoy the channel.

I think the wall turned out great! As far as the cut off pieces, can they be used elsewhere on the property to make like edge flower beds or something? Also I think all the extra rocks should be used to continue the curved rock wall at the end of the driveway. Just keep stacking up there, even if that's not permanently where they end it will get them out of the way and you can decide if you want to do something different with them in the future. I'm sure once you have the landscaping going you will figure out a nice place for a firepit conversation area you can use them in, yes?

Likely you will reconsider, rethink, come up with other options and ideas, change your mind, and then reconsider all over again about 84 times before you even need to start thinking about buying materials. One step at a time.

Hope you have fully recovered from the infection, elevated body temp and shortness of breath aren't good signs. Maybe I missed this from previous videos regarding the retaining wall, but curious if you plan to remove the existing laid stone wall before back filling, assuming you plan to be level with the existing concrete pad? Also why you employed crushed limestone in the wall construction as opposed to river gravel for drainage assist? Generally I've always used river gravel for drainage/leach/French drain, maybe the Mohs scale rating for the limestone you have available is greater than what is readily available here. Truly appreciate your work great ethic and passion for your new home!

You don’t have to over explain everything. Do your build. Show the work with the level of knowledge you currently have. We can only know what we know at the time we are acting or doing something. Others may know more, but only through their own personal experience. Meaning, no one can judge because you are constantly working and learning, just as every other person in this world does. Just video and show the work progression. You don’t have to explain everything and I personally would rather see the actual work and progression. You don’t have to know everything and be perfect. If you’ve had someone you’ve tried to please with perfection in your life, you can stop. You have the only say of approval in your life and recognizing that gives you your power and control of your life. That is what keeps you from giving power or control of your actions to others. Do your best and if it doesn’t go perfect, you just try again. It’s called learning. Give yourself a break and be good with who you are at any given moment. It helps you to feel joy in the moments and not worry about what will happen or of being judged in the next moments. God loves you as you are and wants you to continue to grow. You learn to love you as you are are and be ok with growing without the judgement. God bless. You do good work bud. Especially, never take criticism that is not constructive. Constructive criticism gives you detail on what you may have done wrong and what you can do to improve. Non constructive criticism is only meant to break someone down. Stuff like you’re stupid, you suck etc.. are negative judgement words that serve no purpose in a meaningful way. Don’t personalize that stuff!
