The absolute best version of this song. So frustrating to not have availability through other subscription streaming music. Thanks RU-vid for keeping this alive!
Yeah, nothing against the greatness that is David Bowie, but this is my go-to version of the song. This one is by far the best version available… sorry, just facts.
I have been a fan of this band, and this video ever since it came out years ago. I had taken my kids to the movie, Godzilla, when it came out in the 90's (1998). And one night when I was channel surfing, during the same year or next, (not sure), I came across the MTV Music Awards on television just in time where they announced that the Wallflowers were about to perform. I patiently waited through the several severely long sponsored commercials, and this performance immediately started when the show came back on air. Til' this day, I am still awestruck at this live performance, many times with an open mouth, while watching this video reminiscent from that one night, (not so long ago) ;-) To begin with, the sound crew for this venue deserves a lot of credit. But the orchestra was just truly amazing, and shot this song into the stratosphere. And the synchronization between them and the Wallflowers is what makes this song and video one of my most favorite of all time. I am truly grateful to have experienced this live performance, even though I was not there in person. Just awesome!
Its originale Song by the late David Bowie, its Nice to heard this revival Song by Jacob Dylan as we know his father Is a famous singer also nothing to worry about the praise of this Song for me It will give an strength and Energy.
In the Keanu reeves movie replacements...ending scene ...he throws a pass , catched and touched down by an unlikely deaf player...then a victory with this intros of the song...Perfect!
This is one of the RARE song remakes that actually turns out to be better than the original. No disrespect to Bowie. Thank you David Bowie for writing and composing a great song. I just prefer this version, it's more up-tempo and the song seems to have a better flow with the Wallflowers.
I like Bowie's version too. I never said I didn't, I just prefer the Wallflowers version opposed to Bowie's. It's one of the few Wallflowers songs I liked. Just my opinion. 95% of the time, I prefer the original. This is one of the rare cases where I prefer the remake. My opinion.
Daryl Moore Totally agree Daryl. I never liked how Bowie sand it. He doesn't hold any notes, and sounds flat. This is a much more rocking version with much better vocals.
+Daryl Moore +1 Mr Moore, it also brought the song back in the 90s, so I loved it when I was growing up (just wish they didn't sell out to that damn awful movie)
I am not here to comment on a competition between the Master Bowie and the Walflowers. No. Yaakov Dylan is an extraordinary musician, who came from a great legendary father’s motivator. The irrepressible Bob Dylan. And Nothing to say about my Darling David Bowie and his brilliant career and fantastic musical legacy.. May his beautiful Soul be resting easy in the light of God 🙌🏼. Magnificent version! . . . . Today is June 27th 2022 . Blessed Be
I can't stop playing this song everywhere i go, whether when running, grocery shopping, writing, cleaning l, lol. it has to be one of my favorite songs ever
Incredible that this version of David Bowie's classic is already 20 years old! It's always great to hear it and know that this song is eternal, whether in the voice of the great David or in this very good version of this band! wonderful song!
I believe David Bowie's original version was recorded in a large hall, which is why it had that open echo vacant feel that just took it to another level. This particular cover somehow captures some of the essence of the original. I miss David, it's like I've had a sickness in my stomach ever since I learnt of his death..
The 90's marked us all... that were not marked already. The ink on our souls provides us so much that we all know we could never truely voice it, but nothing on the face of this earth will ever prevent us from the feelings and experiences of it. A toast to all, and those yet to be marked as we are, I love all of humanity and hope and pray we all can be our own heroes.
