Enjoyable viewing thanks. Some well intended comments there from chaps schooled on an Estate steeped in private traditional game shooting hence the ''correct'' in the field gun at rest observations. I think the over the shoulder mode stems from the idea of protecting the barrels from being ''dinged'' which I have witnessed with the over arm swingers 😈.Safety is paramount whichever you choose especially when having shot with ''farmers'' carrying a loaded gun shut under their arm...🤬.Don't think it is a major issue today so each unto their own just be ultra safe.
Surely it’s just as safe as over the arm. So long as the user shows the utmost safety I can’t see an issue but depends on the company and team you shoot with.
I think it really depends on the day James. I’m from a background of walked up and rough shooting so we don’t use sleeve as often as those who just attend the bugger driven days stuck on pegs.
Not done, perhaps on your shoots and with the company you keep but those who I shoot with are more than happy for us to hold our guns however we wish so long as we are safe.
