These jumpscares are not forced. They are literally made with the intention of slowly making the public uncomfortable, almost never sudden. These literally make you uncomfortable to the point of creating fear. And they do it perfectly.
this is very true, literally seeing and hearing the horrific screams of rosemary or just that entire scene in general is stuck in my head. so now i have a hard time looking down my own hallway without hearing those screams
@@itsamedarien2409 I know watching this stuff makes me close my closet and close my door all the way but my sister always opens it 2 am in the morning which makes it worser
So to those who are freaked out by distorted human faces. There is actually a reason behind that. Humans often find something creepy or uncomfortable because it isn't human but it's vaguely human. Or it was once human but isn't anymore. It seems wrong and feels wrong. That's often who we feel our fight or flight get triggered. Our brains are telling us that something isn't right.
like the zombies from hl2 if you reverse the audio of the normal zombie you can hear them screaming for help so they are still alive and councious they just cant move their body, and also their body is very mangled
This is fine. I didn’t have to sleep tonight. I love watching my dumbass have a nervous breakdown, thinking there’s a creepy rabbit animatronic in the corner of my room.
@@suimential3726 I was gonna say to get kitchen scissors, but we’re talking about an animatronic bunny with the sharpest claws known to man that has been seen tearing a grown man’s limbs off (obviously killing him) during the 80’s and doing the same thing years prior during the 70’s to the wife of the man that haunts that certain animatronic bunny.
2:12 if anyone couldn't pause to read what was on the screen. "They left the next day, they thought Ashley left early, but she was in the backdoor, screaming as much as she could, but no one heard the screams, the following days the caretakers would complain about an awful smell coming from the backdoors, company decided to shut down the facility until new advice, the relocate project was unsuccessful Ashley is still there, but she's not screaming anymore, she saw something she wasn't supposed to see, and now she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful, she's beautiful," Etc.
I genuinely think 5:21 may be one of the single most horrifying and disturbing parts of any horror media I’ve ever seen. Executed perfectly, left me slack jawed the first time I saw it, immediately rewinded and watched it many more times.
@@fleabaguette9699 ik i was just about to say that. the way he cries and screams just sounds so awful and panicked. He realizes he did something horribly wrong and gets so distressed that he just sobs. its truly heartbreaking
6:00 This makes me think a bit more that Jack is Bon because it looks like he’s going insane about not only him possessing the rabbit, but also about Edd and Molly and where or what they are.
5:27 this one is what got me. a mixture of terrifying visuals, horrendously creepy broken music box in the background and the constant beeping and the text triggers the absolute hell out of my fight or flight system. Kudos to the creator, this is true horror.
i think the section that terrified me the most was the entire "oh no! you got the bad ending! -you couldn't finish the barn tasks on time- you crashed the car! you killed them!" part. the music, the melting face, felix's screams, everything just gave me the chills
Right? That part is so freaking unsettling but for some reason I absolutely love it because of that, and I think it’s my favorite part in the series, or at least one of them
4:37 I think is the scariest moment in the entirety of The Walten Files, at least thus far but it'll be hard to top this. The audio, the horrific image of Rosemary, that uncanny mix of a stylized cartoon body and unnerving face, THE SCREAMS. Rosemary's death is already tragic and disturbing just in terms of its implications, but this representation of it, just through audio and imagery alone is enough to really sell how *horrible* her death was and it legitimately kept me up at night just thinking about it
4:39 God, this one really is bad. Its not just scary, its… sad. You can hear Rosemary’s pain from those terrible screams. Actually, all jumpscares are really bad. Because its not the forced scary thing, its disturbing at the point to fill with fear the public. The Walter Files is the only horror series that actually scared me, a person who doesn’t get scared. Really, an awesome job.
Something interesting I noticed is that Boozoo's segment in Bunnyfarm seems to have a lot of similarities to moments in Boozoo's Ghosts. The way the background often flashed red, the audio skipping and the eyes and teeth left floating in darkness in the "MISSING" jumpscare... it's interesting.
0:55 - 1:03 i will never forget that one split second of heartaches in everywhere at the end of time playing, tbh it was kinda cool on how martin included it too, it kinda fit with sophie forgetting everything and it all coming back to her during bunnyfarm (?) (i hope that makes sense)

No one talks about this, but the fact that the sound distorts and repeats and skips like old musical media (SONY IM LOOKING AT YOU), is a nice touch. Because it tells you, *something's broken*
These quick succession jumpscares really work for the type of fear this series tries to make. You back away from one scare only to bump into another one behind you. Or sometimes you get left in silence with no clue as to what may happen. Truly anxiety inducing
2:23 I had to sit through this, COMPLETELY STILL BECAUSE I MADE UP A FAKE SCENARIO WHERE IF I MOVED HE WOULD LITERALLY COME FROM MY BATHROOM AND RUN AT ME AND I WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING
I absolutely love how they take advantage of the VHS tape concept, with the distorted sounds and music odd cuts to a different part of the video. It's just so cool 😌
I like how all these scares are sprinkled on top of the story that lays beneath, that tells a pretty good story that is based on FNAF while having some originality in it, along with how the Battington tapes go about it
i just realized, at 4:09 a mormon hymn plays, its a beautiful and calm song, but in this setting, and the way its distorted completely twists it and it makes you feel uncomfortable and creeped out. I just think its neat how good martin is at this j
As someone who’s exposed himself to as many horror genres as possible from a young age, watching the Walten Files during the daytime was probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Even then, I *still* had a lot of trouble trying to sleep for the next few weeks. The uncanny animatronics, the distorted human facials, and the sound design all make for a very uncomfortable, hair-raising experience.
For me there’s something about the noise just repeating when they die. I always have the sudden thought that once you die the least thing you hears just echos til fade.

@DrCury448 it's a funeral hymn called "Nearer my God to Thee" and it was most famous to be the final song played In the last 15 minutes of the Titanic's sinking
