30.4 hours in to the game on Novice mode, I failed 3 times (forgot to feed) and now I'm at day 285, trying to hit that 1 year mark!

For some reason I really enjoy the thought of a fully sustainable city on a moving platform I.e Snowpiercer and mortal engines. This is totally my kinda game.

Gave this a try last night on my xbox. Super fun, I love games like this and the art style is perfect for it. Definitely a unique take on city builders. Can't wait to get home tonight and continue building a town on the back of my pet kaiju.

Brand new subscriber here, I was looking into Against the storm and now, instead of buying a game like I had planned, I'm just binge watching your "Worth your time" videos, I used to be an avid Gameranx :"Before you buy" watcher, but I'm happy to say I have another source of intel before spending a few bucks on a new game to get lost in. I was never fun of city builders, as they typically force you to pay too much attention to smallest things like individual villagers, constantly having to check the season and weather and so on and theyre big on time managing and strategy Wandering Village so far seems to need very little of strategy, time managing and micromanaging. Perfect for me, who never got the hang of startegy games (like RA, AoE) and Im loving this game. I just hope there'll be some end goal added in the future. Becuz every randomly made map seems to have pretty much same amount of resources and fecc I cant explain further So far I had time to play beginner difficulty twice and medium once. The medium seems sometimes easier than my first attempt In nutshell, playing this game doesnt need elite strategist and I find that enjoyable

I completely agree with you. I like city builders and strategy games that don’t force you to manage each individual villager, because it just gets tedious and painful. It’s why I like Frostpunk, as you don’t need to attend to every citizen, but they’re still individualized when it comes to things like sickness and hunger. In all honesty, wandering village has even more micromanaging than Frostpunk, but it’s still simple enough to understand, and intuitive in its design. If they made it more complex, I don’t think I’d enjoy it that much.

I hope this game does well. It's a great premise and I love the different levels of interconnected management, a sim city where you're responsible for the heath and well-being of your environment.

Nice review! Really hyped about the game. As an old "The Settlers" fan, Wandering Village somehow got me. So I was playing it since the release of the first demo some months ago. I also just published my review about the game on my channel, summarizing my impressions.

I found this game on gamepass last night and it's definitely addicting and charming. I love the entire premise of the game however, it's not without it's faults so keep that in mind when playing it that it's not fully finished. I also thought it would be relatively easy until all of my villagers died of starvation. I was unaware you had to put a berry gatherer next to actual berries. I also wish there was a way for you to immediately assign villagers to move full air wells to water tanks. I'm also not sure why my villagers insist on leaving materials on the floor versus moving them to the material storage containers which have plenty of space. I think one of the best things to do early on is to create the scavenging hut as this will allow you to send workers to various areas without removing any stumps on onbus back as he really hates that. Also, unlocking onbu research is vital as without him, it's also, game over. Overall I'm very much enjoying this game and can't wait to see the finished product.

It’s mostly fun, but once you max out the tech tree there’s nothing more. Also late game it just throws storms at you destroying 30% of your town every couple minutes until you run out of resources to fix all the destruction.

It may be worth my time, but is it worth the wait? It's been nearly, if not over, 2 years since the game was announced and a entire year since the game supposedly was coming to console. How much longer do people on console have to wait to get to experience this gem?

will the early access also include the full game free of charge when released? and will refunds be offererd if the game never reaches its release? because playing £15 for a demo pretty steep, £5 perfectly reasonable but over £10 is a bit much, if release is garanteed and given to people who purchace the early access then id gladly buy it for £15 though

It looks great and I want to try it but I think $25 for an early access game that already got over $155k before making it to Steam. It's a little ridiculous especially compared to other games at or below that price point already and full release. The art style, gameplay loop, systems, future plans, and concept are AMAZING though.

I don't think so. It's actually quite good and is getting very good reviews already. In fact the only negative review are how the farms look. Some people don't like how the farms look and think that they need to be redesigned. But $22 or $25 is a good price because you are helping the devs In developing this game farther. If you don't buy It then your not supporting the devs and your not willing to help them In developing the game more.

They just take beta testing and give it a fancy new name like "Early Access" and now all of sudden they can charge for it? No thanks. It's a shady practice. And I've seen far too many games never leave the early access state.

when you're an indie company that doesn't have the resources of a AAA studio, you need to find ways to both entice people who want to play early and also get opinions on how the game is shaping up.
