Yeah I really love all the half told stories like these. I'm sure if GW wanted they could fill out a 10+ book series on it, but I like that there's still an air of mystery to it

It's kind of trippy when you realize that the current era for most empires is the C'Tan's "End of Civilization" moment. The Golden Age of their people is over, and they were left clinging to what few bits of plasma and energy remain in the universe, huddled around them like homeless vagrants around a trash fire. To the Necrontyr, the universe was full of wonder and promise. To the C'Tan, it was a barren, desolate waste, a dying world.

I really like how you broke down the War into understandable phases and time periods. It helped me greatly understand how the war was conducted. . . . . So many other 40K videos covering the "War in Heaven" just lumped all the information together into one big blob and information dump. It was confusing.
Great episode! Answered a lot of questions that I had about this period. Specifically on how the Necrontyr still had short lives even though they had a star spanning empire.

I've been following you since almost the start of your channel and I have to say it only grows in quality with each new episode. I have not missed a single video and by the emperor it always is a good time listening to our dearest friend explain the mysteries of the 40k universe.
Originally this was going to be more of a C'tan centric vid, but it became impossible to cover them without venturing into the war, but yeah I enjoy their lore quite a bit, so I wanted to do their origins/role some justice

100%, I do aim to keep the actual plot/characters as lore accurate as possible, and I try to keep the colourful writing from straying too far from how they were presented by GW, but still, these vids are just a bit of fun, and people should check out the official books for the "true" version!
Could the reason for the denial of help be that the home star was the home of a Catan? It was they who were able to bring down the old ones through the necron. Might the old ones have been leary to cross paths with the Catan and as a consequence the necrontyr were denied their deepest wish?
Your content is on par with Luetin, I mean that on overall package. I'm sure he has more knowledge overall and he goes into more detail alot of the time. But I listen to like 8 or 9 channels and Luetin and yours is probably the best to watch, I always save them for when I'm laying in bed at night

It's odd that the C'tan went through so much trouble to trick the Necrontyr into biotransferrence. Even knowing how it turned out for the Necrons, there's no chance than any species would say no to it.

Just a few thousand years before that, they would’ve arrived in the wake of the devastation of the Horus Heresy. Slightly earlier, they would’ve arrived while the Imperium was tearing itself in half. Slightly earlier, the last great Ork empire would’ve been just defeated. Slightly earlier, humanity would still be a bunch of disparate kingdoms pre-Great Crusade. A few thousand years before, the galaxy would still be in the throes of Old Night. A few thousand years earlier, the Eldar would’ve been newly-sundered by the Eye of Terror. A few thousand years before that, the Eldar Empire would still be fat & decadent. So while the Necrons definitely arrived at a bad time, if they’d awakened a “mere” few (tens of) thousand years earlier, they would’ve hit golden opportunities to take the entire galaxy easily. And when compared to 65mil yrs of slumber, they weren’t that far off. 🤔

Yours is the only AI voiced channel i actually enjoy. I have one question though; do you write the script yourself by piecing togather existing 40k lore into a cohesive format, or do you use AI for that as well? Not talking bad about it, just genuinely curious.
Their souls were consumed, though And I be suspisous that there is no greater spirit(the one that reincarnates) or lessor spirig(that stays with body and fades away in time) as they probably ate those too Most likely the Necrons are just Aspects of themselves like Juju Zombies ....their memories are just a carbon copy of their long dead selves (the metal itself is alive thus took the imprinted memories but nothing else...kind of an underhanded raw deal)
Damn, necrontir being naive about soul stuff. C'tan stargods now soul vampires made by the hubris of the Necrontir. So brutal, but the perpetual hubris followed by the C'tan's continued ego belies the Necron ingenuity to wip stargod ass. I got a kick out of. The stargods being boundless forms that ate solar matter but the ego of the Necrontir put the souless stargods into a focused body. Doing such, allowed the stargods to manipulate the Necrontir to give the stargods some yummy souls. Id believe that if the C'tan were still at their apex, they solely would have eventually, would devour the entirety of the immarterium. Cutting the story of the galaxy short, humans history becoming a soulless mark and burning up like a candle flame
I'm starting to think this isn't an AI voice. It sounds too perfect, but like, it has human inflections and pauses and stuff. It's either a really good AI or a time traveling medieval wizard started a wh40k YT channel.
