I love the Cuban people, my grandmother is the daughter of Cubans who came to work in Jamaica in the 1920's. The Cuban medical professionals come to Jamaica often and we always look forward to their visit. Thank you to all Cubans, from your friend next door in Jamaica.
It breaks my heart to see the Cuban people suffering. We owe so much to Cuba for their medical doctors that have been sent to Jamaica over the yrs. Really hope things get better
This documentary tells us things that the mainstream media never report on. I am pleased that there is a contingent of Cuban nurses and medics in Barbados to help during the pandemic and their stay has recently been extended. I am also aware that the only colonial power in the Caribbean is the United States, who continue to treat Puerto Rico as a colony.
Britain ceased being a colonial power long ago. Commonwealth members are free to become republics with presidents replacing monarchs. There are a very few Crown Colonies - but they have decided to stay under British protection. BVI derives most of its income from annual company fees, Caymans do a lot of offshore finance too. Gibraltarians are more British than the British, and universally hate the Spanish. I know that French possessions can also elect for independence, but many chose to stay and be part of Metropolitan France, electing MPs direct to Paris. Perhaps this worked out well with infrastructure spending, EU grants, etc. Well before the BVI became popular for offshore companies, I remember old fashioned hedge funds basing in Dutch Caribbean islands. Panama was always available, but the courts in London, Paris, etc would generally be preferred to settle commercial litigation.

Wrong. So some research or get outside your bubble. Better yet, don't insert your 2 cents cause it ain't worth shit. They have bad government officials. It's not the 🇺🇸 job to fix them.
I have been to Cuba, found the people to be the friendliness people in the world. They do not deserve to be sanctioned. It has been more then 60 years since the dispute. Build a bridge and get over it.
@Taiwan92Abarth And what about the people who where persecuted by Batista a dictator who was put in power by the USA before Castro? I’m not for communism , but you have to give Castro regime credit for raising the literacy rate higher than even the USA. Plus their universal healthcare.
I admire the tenacity of the Cuban people and creativity borne out of the need to survive. I pray that this embargo ends and life get easier all of you. Long live Cuba. Mi corazon esta con todos ustedes
Blaming everything on the US and the embargo is an old tactic. Inform yourself. Cuba's regime= no freedom of the press, of speech, of assembly. The government controls all newspapers, TV, radio stations, and internet. Long live Cuba, without its dictatorship.
The Cuban journalists involved are all from the regime's official media; therefore, this documentary would not have been made without the support of the Government and the Communist Party.
@@tman9580 everything we hear about Cuba in the US is from the completely other side. What's wrong with finally getting another perspective from people actually living there?
What an incredible people and an incredible country. Persisting in the face of constant economic warfare from a huge imperialist empire on the doorstep. I have endless respect for the cuban people!
Hey you should move to Cuba. BTW why is this documentary in English, from a Spanish speaking country? Which public are they trying to appeal to? Hmmm 🤔 okay continue the cry wolf
@@annjohnson2384 I'm afraid I am not suited to the climate. It should be obvious that they're appealing to the world outside Cuba. The cubans already know this.
@@davidanderson7460 You forget that they were closely allied to the Soviet Union and would have triggered world war. Of course they could have invaded it if they wanted to, but unprovoked attacks are bad optics. It's better to try to make the country collapse indirectly and install a puppet, which is what the US has done in the rest of Latin America and tried and tries to do in Cuba.
Thank you for this brilliantly put together overview of how the war on Cuba and the war on Venezuela are both part of the same strategy for expanding U.S. control over the Caribbean and Latin America.
I've always wanted to visit cuba eversince I watched Dance with me😂.. as an African, they've been instrumental on the continent eventhough they're not rich. Their voice and hospitality. 💯
This is amazing! Thank you for posting. I'm learning more about US history now at 54, than I did in high school. The American people are mislead on a regular basis.
Cuba is incredibly poor with the Communist elites and cadres at the top of the food chain. They are not poor. It is the folly of trying to create a "classless society" by putting the Party at the top of society with total access to all power. "Power" is never 'democratized' in Socialism.
Thanks so much for these series. It's so professionally done and the host is just beautiful too. thanks for opening our eyes and thanks for ALL the help you've given to Jamaica.
I love the work you're doing. I am of Cuban and Jamaican descent. I speak to my family in Cuba and it's painful to know how things are and how they suffer. Keep getting the information out!
When Caribbean people work together they do not like to see it. The Monroe Doctrine should be thrown out completely Cubans are smart people the more they push you all the more creativity will develop it’s sad you all are experiencing this Bless you all fellow Empress from 🇯🇲
Cuba, is the symbol of DIGNITY of Latin America. Like the great Noam Chomsky said, '''The real crime in Cuba, was NEVER the repression, which does not even come close to the kind of repression the u.s. has supported around the world. The real crime of Cuba are the successes in terms of health, feeding the people, education and the THREAT of a demonstration effect that people in other countries with little resources... might try to do the same things.''' **RESPECT for the Cuban people.**
@@guillermojimenez9072 No, the problem of Cuba is INTERVENTIONISM. When has Cuba been allowed to exercise its right to self-determination in PEACE?? No jodas.
It's frustrating how the Americans try to strong arm Latin America. I'm so glad the Cuban people are doing what they can do to survive the American Imperialism. Hopefully this unlawful blockade will be lifted soon. Patria o muerte!!!!
Amazing video. Why does the US speak to a tyrant government like North Korea, but cause so much pain to Cuba? Is it because Cuba has never denied their African identity. Cubans that live in America have lost their way. Wonderful and enlightening video. I plan to watch the other episodes. 🇯🇲
Love this doc. Just kind of was looking into what was going on in Cuba. Beautiful people and beautiful land. I would love to go to Cuba and experience the culture but even more, help a few families. But I can't. Because of the governments we live under. It's a shame.
@@shotimemillionaire It's really the governments of both countries that are responsible. The people in both countries don't want the people of Cuba to suffer in any. Do we actually think that if I was a millionaire even if the US let me go to Cuba to help the people personally that the Cuban government would allow it? No. The help or money would have to go through the Cuban government. Cuban authorities would take and say they will delegate the help. There is a whole world out there Cuba. Businesses all over the world. If anyone wants to do any type of business in Cuba they have to go through the government of Cuba. That's a problem for the people of Cuba. Let's face it. The problems in Cuba are bigger then the U.S. embargo.
@@kelsowilz2522 Agreed. And the first positive steps toward easing the embargo were in the works when Obama was in office. During that time we saw many remarkable changes in Cuba. Perhaps if Biden/Harris win the election they'll reverse the Trump executive order and reinstate the Obama executive order with improvements. And we'll get to see what Cuba can become when both governments embrace change for the betterment of its people.
@@shotimemillionaire You are completely wrong, those socialists or communists have starved and state terrorism to more than 150 million inhabitants, they especially hate blacks in the way that the Spanish never mistreated slaves. Those who are in Cuba are the children of the Spaniards who killed 800,000 Cuban slaves in the 30 years that the independence war lasted. Those who gave us our freedom were the US allies. So thanks to the heroic US Marines they have not exterminated all human beings on this planet. Do you think you are smarter than the millions of people from 220 countries who flee to the US every year? If the US is so bad, why is everyone fleeing to the US? In this life you have to have common sense. In life, practical facts are worth, and not the advertisements of the communist television CNN, New yor Time. The TV Soros and the Deep State.

@@tiberio1352 I agree with both of you. And consider the fact that, if you go to any of those RU-vid channels of investors who are always talking about the stimulus checks, you'll find people making the same comments such as how the government doesn't care about the people, and how our politicians should be voted out of office. @@everforward8651 Fact of the matter is that people in the u.s., for the most part, do not give a rat's ass of what is going on in Cuba or anywhere else. Period.
Are you serious? Fidel's government has been in power for over 63 years. Can you even begin to fathom the ramifications of either the Democrats or the Republicans being in power for that long? If you had no one to answer to for 6 or 7 decades, would you even care what people thought? The Cuban government has has 60 plus years for advancement and yet the common Cuban people suffer to the point that they risk fleeing the island by any means possible without regard to their own lives. Do you want to live like that?
@@gregrodriguez714 I’m not sure what you mean by “Fidels government” I have a suspicion you mean that In bad faith. The Democrats and republicans are the same party in reality. They agree on most policies and differ on meaningless policies. Common cubas suffer because of the blockade that’s starving our people. Socialist historically have had better nutrition for their countries than capitalist countries. People from all over Latin America flee their own respective countries every day yet we never blame capitalism or authoritarianism… weird huh? I want to live in a country where my people can live without US sanctions and pressure from any kind. A country to self determine it’s own future! You imperialist western scum bags don’t understand your country is an empire filled with pirates, thieves, and murderers. The US breaks the most international laws in the world while masquerading itself as a “democracy.” Period.
When Cuba decided to liberalize its economy, reestablish diplomatic relations with the US, Pompeo, Trump, Marco Rubio, Claver-Carone et al decided this would be terrible, as Cuba would become more prosperous, freer and that would mean the destruction of that Cuba-based, Florida voting bloc. Many Cubans in Miami, and elsewhere in the US, did welcome the changes, but a rabid and influential minority decided Trump would be its savior and would help them to eventually establish their own dictatorship in Cuba and call it "a democracy". The thing is Cuba is a very peaceful country and police do not shoot people on the streets or anywhere else. Unlike what we see in the US. When Obama visited Havana and promised to work to end the embargo, people in Cuba were elated, extremely happy and hoped normalization between both countries would mean a new era was beginning. The evil ones decided this was "dangerous" and that is the tragedy we see today.
Excellent documentary my sister. I am almost 60 yrs of age, and I am unlearning mostcid what I was taught years ago. I hope to visit Cuba one day Press on, brothers and sisters. Positive change will come. A people as resilient and creative as yours cannot stay oppressed.
Excellent presentation and keep informing the world. We see you and hear you. A new day is coming when you will be able to install a participatory social democracy government. Such beautiful people who suffer under horrible circumstances.
Having been there, my heart hurts for these beautiful people. And when I tell people what I learned, I'm told I've been lied to. Thank you for this program. I hope to be able to reconnect with the friends I made while there. Hope maybe on the horizon with our regime change here. Keep the stories coming
How can any American talk about how great our country is (or was), considering the genocide perpetrated against people of African descent, the genocide perpetrated against the Native peoples, and, now, the genocide perpetrated against the people of Cuba? Can such an American explain why he or she thinks that America's been so great, in light of its history? (And, no, the fact that the other countries have done evil things is not an excuse--especially since our country was founded on the principle of all human beings being created equal, and deserving of the same human rights.)
@@freepomeroon I don't know of any genocides in Africa that were perpetrated by the leaders of an ethnic group against the members of their own ethnic group. If you know of any such instances, let us know. At any rate, one genocide doesn't make another one not an evil act. And, we're supposed to be an exceptional country, that shining city on the hill, a republic founded on the principles of justice and democracy (as well as on the fact that all human beings are created equal)--which means that the genocides that the United States has committed have been even more egregious.
@enrique perez Really? Well, then, maybe you can help me out: here are some videos showing Cuban people, in Cuba. Now, bro, for the life of me, I can't seem to find in these videos any starving people dressed in rags. Can you point them out to me? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1yQV-i7hAUk.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jVEOMLWllEY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uw4ZEkUxSZg.html Actually, aquí entre nos, mi socio, the greatest enemy of the Cuban people is the American government--oh, and, yeah, the pseudo-Cuban pigs of Miami. You see, the economic blockade of Cuba by the American government is a genocide. And what's even worse is, that the pigs of Miami are helping out the Americunts in perpetuating this genocide against the people of their homeland. LOL: this tragedy does have its humorous side: the Cuban people have managed to survive the blockade, and, at the time, create a society in which there is no economic disparity, and in which everyone has access to a free, top-notch education. Cuba has even sent its doctors all over the world to help cure the sick. Meanwhile, 62 years after the triumph of true, patriotic Cubans over the despot Batista (as well as the Americans, who used the country as their gambling and sexual playground, as well as an economic colony), Cubans in Miami are still tripping about Castro y los ñángaras, and still playing dominoes in the Maximo Gomez Park, and still attending the Noches Cubanas in their churches' recreation halls. So, on Judgment Day, these pigs will be surprised to see El Apóstol Martí and La Cachita embracing Fidel, while they condemn the pigs of Miami to hell. (Come to think of it, maybe I shouldn't call the so-called Cubans of Miami "pigs": I mean, aren't they all isleños from the Canary Islands, or, gallegos?) Anyway, now you can go and post some videos made by some of the worms in Florida (or their sympathizers), that show how the Cubans as a society are on their last leg, how the Castroists were and are drug dealers, how Cuba supports terrorism around the world, and so on and so forth. «Cuando salí de Cuba.......»
@@pimpiniseasy2778 The word "descent" means the origin of an ethnic group or people of a certain race. But, whatever their descent is, American blacks have been subjected to genocide since 1619. And, it seems to me that one of the many side effects of this genocide is that it's acceptable among certain people of African descent to have a screen name like "pimpiniseasy," even though so many of their female ancestors or even present female family members were used as a sexual and economic resource, here in this wilderness of North Amerikkka. I suppose a European-American would say that you're just being cool and fashionably irreverent And, an African-American would tell me that I should stop trippin, and just chill.

Love the video! The US thinks they can label other countries as regimes and that automatically gives them the right to perform coups and dismantle foreign governments. In the end, most of this comes down the the US being afraid of of socialism and communism.
