Love your content man! It's awesome that your working with Jack to help fight the freebooters. Good luck with getting justice for this malicious and exploitive content thievery.
"We all gotta eat" is such a gross self-validation of theft. Like we're supposed to feel bad and let them keep selling our property on the content black market
Trying this again. Can someone let Jack know about SssniperWolf's second channel, SssniperWolf Top Videos. It's an official channel that's linked from her main page, under "Channels" tab. It's all the same content but in "30 min. compilation" form. It's current and active and even has an upload schedule, Tues, Thurs, Sat., 10 AM (PST). I'm sure you content creators would like to know about this other channel and how it's just another lazy way to steal money from y'all. I don't use Twitch or Discord so it's up to you kids to pass this message on to Jack. If anything, it'll probably make for better content for Jack and us to enjoy!
i’ve gotten 15-20 tiktok accounts with over 1,000,000 followers deleted for uploaded nothing other than my unedited videos. I’ve gotten tons of those exact same hilarious emails LOL
this is funny because one of the first videos that i saw after making an acc on tiktok is some guy completely recreating your circle pool thing with no credit at all
I’m more annoyed they think they’re entitled to gain _anything_ from what someone ELSE worked hard for. they’re literally going up to a stranger and demanding they get a cut of their paycheque. it’s literally robbery. these people are wastes of life. they give nothing, they do nothing but expect everything to go their way. don’t sugar coat it. if I wrote my name down instead of yours upon you clocking into an 8 hour shift, I’d be stealing credit and therefore money from you, that would be illegal but these people think they’re above everyone else. the internet has made the worthless even more worthless. not saying the older days are better but at least these people would be forced to move off their chairs. I used to follow meme pages a few years ago, they get MILLIONS of views and followers from stealing. even with this, they’re STILL greedy. I had to unfollow them all because all they did was promote awful drop shipping websites. there’s YT channels doing the same thing. you watch ANY Tiktok compilation video and halfway through, they’ll be tryna promote some suspiciously cheap clothing with pictures you know are stolen from elsewhere- like you are just dumb if you think you’re getting what’s being shown in the pictures. it’s disgusting.
The only thing well done here is how he's destroyed his own channel. Also the only thing that really needs to be changed is your horrendous analysis of modern memes.😊
Thank you for fighting content theft! My videos also get stolen and reposted on a daily basis (99% of the time with no credit, sometimes the thief even tries to take credit for the content). I've been getting them taken down but it's so time consuming and never-ending, by the time one gets taken down 3 new ones pop up, it's exhausting. And my channel isn't even that big! For anyone who thinks that these reposts somehow "help" creators and give them "exposure," - they don't, as a creator you gain NOTHING from it. In this day and age it's extremely rare for anyone to look up a creator they saw on some random page, people just don't care. I've seen reposts of my stuff with millions of views, NO mention of my name and not one of the thousands of comments asking who the original creator is. It's up to us to keep fighting this. Thanks again!
That sucks, I’m sorry!! What about people who steal and upload on instagram/tiktok? I don’t think there’s any way to detect stolen content on other platforms unless we stumble upon it or someone tells us? It’s not fair
As a long-time subscriber, I'm really impressed that this has gone from just "making fun of SSSniperWolf" to "researching and sharing long-term solutions to deal with the issue of content thievery from online creators". This is more than just petty drama now. I can't wait to see what you all manage to do.
To be fair, the "petty drama" spread like wildfire and was what started the platform wide discussion to begin with, if not for it he might not have been able to get nearly as much awareness for his actual long term solutions.
It’s also illegal. You’ve undersized the issue by calling it a plague on creativity. It’s not even just a little illegal. It’s legal consequences (when enforced) are often severe.
"Shut the f up, we all gotta eat" Cool, EARN IT. You're freeboating off someone else's work. You didn't earn your money, you stole it. If someone wanted to take these guys to court, they could. That's the saddest thing of it
Haha. So funny Jason DeRulo messaged me on two separate channels trying to use my content for "reactions". At least he is asking for consent, not something he usually does...
But he doesn't need your permission to react to your videos tho. It isn't like he took your videos and claimed they are his creation. He is reacting not reposting
@@kuggacouragegx6093yeah, but he isn’t telling anyone who created the content. so people don’t know who created the content, thus making the reactor getting exposure and not the creator
@@gmdkingost omg u don't need to ask for permission. Nor tell the creator that u made a reaction. It literally doesn't matter nor anyone have the time to worry about that? Something I like is how Jack isn't only chasing over the most infamous, like SSSniperwolf, he's also making sure other freeloaders, smaller, lose the attention they get by stealing.
Oh shit. Imagine making a tiktok account of a freebooter freebooting a freebooter. Like blatantly use one "reaction" to react to a freebooter. Like stealing from a thief situation.
@@41tinman41we could have a case of nearly infinite freebooting of content to the point where we don't know who freebooted first or who the creator was
The best solution is starring doing any job where effects of your job cannot be easily stolen. "Content" "creators" definitely ain't over of them. If your want to create added value that is actually actually necessary or valued, do some trainings in udemy or other e-learning platforms. What society needs is valuable learning content, note another worthless tiktok...
This is why I love Daily Dose of Internet. The context he provides isn’t enough to transform the video clips, and even with credit to the creators, it’s not enough to make it okay that he’s monetized. What makes it okay is that he contacts the creators and PAYS for the video clips.
Yeah let's see a man with creative talent become a mindless drone for a cause that everybody already knows about and can't do jack about. I too, am "all" for supporting whatever decision he makes without giving it any critical thinking whatsoever.
@naiba8948 gee. What "stuff"? Stuff that I dunno, completely happens out of his control? Stuff that he attributes to himself when it's clearly done by someone else? "I talked to these content creators so I must be making a change"? Stop being delusional lmao, people like you are the reason why he thinks he can keep talking about this issue when it's dead in the water already.
it pisses me off so badly how people defend themselves stealing other content, always the worst people who end up receiving the most exposure and popularity, no empathy for others at all
@@gurunext no I called you a creep. As a woman, don't treat women like they're princesses in need of saving please, you're really weird. She's a grown ass person, stealing people's work and profiting off of it; the only reason she's being used as an example by Jack is bc RU-vid openly endorses said theft. Also it's not like he's, yk, JUST given an example of a male freebooter in the same video? People deserve recognition for what they do, and we all know damn well that you'd be pissed if someone took your vids, "reacted" to em, then took millions of views + thousands of dollars off of it, while you're still sitting at 10-15 views (if you're lucky).
Damn jack. I have been with you since 2010. I was 13. now shit is getting real. ppl on youtube are stealing content and acting like it's theirs. I am glad you are on on the right side of things. I hope you win this war. godspeed.
Off topic, but I kind of appreciate Jack’s “Twitter for Android” shirt is faded to the point where the text almost doesn’t even show up. Kind of symbolic of how people are slowly forgetting that weird but ambitious era of Jacksfilms. Fading away with time until it eventually gets lost to the void. Anyway, let’s keep up this war on freebooters! Credit the creators!!!
I will never forget the time I saw a comment saying "bro ripped off the creatine guy" on a freeboot of the protein video. I looked it up and it turns out some dude remade the ENTIRE sketch but just replaced protein with creatine. It's so irritating I swear
One of the biggest tv stations in France stole my content and published it in RU-vid, Instagram and Facebook. It got them to remove it, but I had to specifically remind them of every violation since their strategy all the time was "this is probably all he knows".
Sound bytes and clips from my How It's Actually Made series get freebooted on Tik Tok all the time. At first it was upsetting, especially since a lot of the reuploaders completely destroy the comedic timing by adding different music, changing the speed, etc. But by this point I realized there's not much I can do to stop it, so I just focus on new projects to try to gain the most diverse audience I can so I don't have to rely on singular, breakout hits.
Ah yes Hugbees making a fair use parody: "STOP THIS MAD MAN!" Random ass tiktoker making a shitty version of it: "Eh fuck it BUT IF I EVEN SEE HUGBEES"
I like how giant companies can use the copyright system to strike down channels that barely steal their media, yet the creators that are actually loosing money from it are getting fucked over. I'm a fairly small RU-vidr. I've seen a few memes and liked them so I posted them on my channel. I'm no longer doing this, but this video has convinced me to take them down. It was never my content to share, and though I never made revenue off of these videos, I never gave the original creators credit(mostly because they were reposts that I reposted.) Thank you jacksfilms.
If there's a reposting feature, use that. Or copy/paste the link, or something, to share them. It's good to share them as long as the views and stuff go to the original creator
Bro it’s just memes.. this idea that people deserve credit for everything they do is crazy. It’s like I created the idea of rectangular video format and every video I see is in a rectangular format yet no one credits me for that! People criticize people for this stuff then get on Facebook and share memes they didn’t create, repost quotes and sayings they didn’t create, watch the news and shows like americas funniest home videos. People definitely deserve credit for stuff they create no doubt but the fair use law says “transformative” for using like comedy and commentary. People find reaction videos funny, and technically for it to be transformative you don’t have to do much. If people didn’t love it they wouldn’t watch it but clearly the people do love it. Personally I love reaction videos better than the original because many times they compile multiple viral videos and make them funnier. I like seeing other peoples reactions and I’m not alone. Millions of other people enjoy it too. Let people enjoy what they enjoy and y’all keep enjoying crap like this where this dude literally weaseled his way into popular RU-vidrs algorithms by hating on them. A bit ironic isn’t it? Do you think he asked sniper wolf permission to comment on her work? No. Hypocrisy
What's almost crazier than the number of accounts I see taking my videos and uploading them on tiktok with "part 1, 2, etc" is how many of them try and justify it with stuff like "I said in the description 'credit to BlueJay'" like that makes it ok. Like imagine stealing a flatscreen from Best Buy and on your way out the door you shout "Imagine I paid for this"

One of my Lady Dimitrescu animations took off on TikTok about two years ago (where she says "This is what dying feels like" and jumps on the camera) and was a big meme over there for a bit with people recreating it and reacting to it, etc. What really ticked me off was one of the reuploaders commenting something to the effect of "Was playing around on the computer, came up with this, thought I'd upload it", and this was the only person from my memory claiming they created the video. If it goes viral elsewhere, I don't care that much, it is up to me to watermark and protect my content if I were more proactive (not that I think that should be a concern, but thieves like this make it essential), but taking credit and acting like they made my animation is what causes my blood to boil. I'm upset I can't even remember which freebooter commented that, but I imagine I would get the same limp dick email that *should* warrant the fear of a real world ass-kicking. Okay, maybe I rescind using actual violence, but there needs to be the fear of not pissing off the wrong person. We should all be diplomatic and understanding as adults, but the unearned confidence these losers give with emails like that shows they never got comeuppance for shitty behavior.
An animator I follow on RU-vid just lost their entire channel. They've been freebooted by other channels so much, RU-vid's bots thought the ORIGINAL channel was stealing the videos!
People are taught not to steal, murder, etc. But they do anyway. The issue isn't that they're not being taught not to do it. It's that they don't care and value themselves more

You're doing good work my man! My only criticism is that you're being sponsored by BetterHelp, they're not a good sponsor and Mickey Atkins, a registered therapist, talks all about why they're bad and why she refuses to work with them either as a therapist or for a sponsor.
This is why "Doctor Reacts to Cells at Work!" from Dr Hope's Sick Notes is the best "react" content ever. It's barely even "react" content, the guy loves pathology and cellular science and all his "reactions" are just him excitedly bursting into micro-lectures and adding more context and information than the show could reasonably fit. It's a truly transformative effort, and I will not stop plugging that series until the whole internet realizes that THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE.
Seeing professionals react to stuff they genuinely enjoy is always really fun! I love watching music composers react to video game music (esp Bloodborne lmao), they’re always so damn hyped up for it. Plus, it’s a real learning experience!
Same with Parkour Experts reacts to Parkour games and Paleantologist reacts to Monster Humanter Monster Designs. These are the videos that will tell you something that you may never have known about before, plus their enthusiasm for seeing the thing they care about represented in some small way is amazing. There's also Village People/People from [Culture] reacting to new things and giving their opinions on it through their own cultural lens.
Professionals reacting to stuff is probably the best form of reactions. One of my favourites is scenic fights. They react to a scene and break it down, explaining how the technique works, how it could be more realistic etc
Hey jack! I also got freebooted but in the STRANGEST way. I do videos on taking apart on modifying tech. I once did a short on modifying my car stereo, very normal for what I do. It was a pretty big project and was happy with it? Especially since I got a good amount of views. On a monthly basis now I have someone reaching out to me and telling me “hey dude this account is reposting your videos and using it to sell their own car stereo products”. This has happened several times, across several accounts, no credit, no linking to me, nothing. Just straight up impersonating me, and LITERALLY using my videos for their own profit. I even got one of my own videos served to me as a TIKTOK ad once and I just stood there speechless. The TikTok copyright system is REALLY jank and is buried in their resource site. And for everyone I catch; there’s two more than pop up. This system needs to be fixed because people are quite literally using my videos for profit. Anyways, love what you’re doing; keep up the good fight. ❤

My man jack won at RU-vid, he's made a full career of making skits and series he loved and now he's out here being not the hero RU-vid deserves, but the hero RU-vid needs
Does this mean Jackfilms is canonically the most powerful RU-vidr we’ve got in the battlefield of fair use and honest reaction content Because I’m in for it
This man is a hero. I can’t thank you enough for exposing her. My niece was a huge fan a her and I couldn’t stand her even before I realized she was a content thief. But now my niece is seeing the light and every “unsubscribe” is a step in the right direction. RU-vid should be ashamed for putting this thief up on a pedestal. The amount of money she’s made off of other peoples hard work just turns my stomach. It’s the equivalent of a cover band making more money than the original artist. 🤦🏻♂️
I'd argue it's nothing like a cover band. Cover bands usually have talent and usually get permission. This is the equivalent of selling a bootleg CD you burned.
Seeing Lyle's voice come out of his actual physical body created such a wild cognitive dissonance for me. I expected a pure white naked man with tribal tattoos and a slightly gaunt face to be speaking those words, not a human! my reality has been shattered, Jack, SHATTERED!
It’s pretty well known that he pays an actor to pretend to be him irl. He just records voice clips and then has his “stunt double” (as he refers to them) lip sync to them.
Actually, I thought some of the questions were a liiittle leading. But since he's leading them in the right direction, I don't think it negatively affects anything.
Glad to see so many people calling out the Better Help sponsorship. I love what you’re doing for smaller creators on RU-vid/tiktok, but I’m not liking how frequent these Better Help sponsorships are popping up in your videos. By now I think you should be aware of their controversies. While I understand and support the fact you’ve got to make some extra money, Better Help is a terrible company and their practices truly disgust me. Otherwise great video! ❤️
To be fair he might have signed a contract or deal that even with the info he can't stop putting the ad in, usually it's a certain amount of videos in a certain time frame so it's not uncommon to see, especially since it seems to be every video lately, so he might be trying to meet the quota of it so he no longer has to do it
What blows my mind about Jason Derulo is that he's already famous, talented, and attractive, yet ratehr than making more music, he chooses to be the laziest scummiest content theif. Really shows his true character
Pretty sure he doesn't even know this account exists, his social media manager probably told him to shoot some videos of himself watching at the screen and then the editors did the trick.
Make sure you document when your content is stolen, what is stolen, what video it was featured in, etc. Essentially document everything. If this happens more than once I would seek legal action from an attorney.
The whole "let me steal your videos i need to eat too 😡" BS is so funny to me, because if you have a computer or even a phone, you literally have direct access to job applications at the press of a button lmao
Interestingly, I think a lot of those accounts are younger people (maybe around 18 years old) who grew up with homegrown RU-vid productions just existing in the world. In the same way early RU-vid (2005-2010ish) featured a lot of random accounts uploading old TV shows and movies, the younger generation see older RU-vid videos in the same way. They lack the context to understand that it's homegrown, non-corporate stuff. It's all just *content* to them. It's bizarre to see. At one point, RU-vid was counterculture. Now it's seen by many as just "culture" that can be stolen from, appropriated, etc.
Oh god no STOP! You're making terrible arguments, this is literally the same arguments that were made against lets players and they were worthless arguments then and they're worthless arguments now. Jack, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of this. To see a channel as large as yours take such a huge stance against this gives me faith that hopefully content theft will be taken more seriously. I don’t make videos, but I do make art and have had my pieces, that I spend hours and days on, reposted numerous times, especially on those shitty art reposting accounts on instagram. It honestly felt helpless every time it happened and so I stopped posting art for a long time. I even had a family member tell me that people stealing my work was actually a “compliment” and that I should be happy because the account must have liked it that much. It’s become so normalized and people don’t see how wrong it is. Sorry this is cheesy, but I hope you know that you’re making a huge difference and that your efforts are worth it! Thank you
Multiple people reach out to him in his SSSniperWolf bingo streams to tell him what they should do when their content has been stolen. Maybe you could do that too?
Unfortunately I don't think we can claim a full on victory until RU-vid themselves stop promoting Sssniperwolf themselves, but these have been absolutely massive steps in the right direction. It's been heartwarming to see people come out and actually get their content removed from where they didn't want it in the first place.
For those who are commenting on BH, I'm pretty sure Jack is aware and i think THATS why you're seeing it so much: he's in a contract with BH and is trying to meet the quota asap so that he won't have to promote them again
This is what I was thinking too. You don't typically see so many sponsored vids all with the same sponsor like that unless they're like trying to meet their quota
do they take money from him if he doesn't meet the requirements or something? because besides having to need time to deal with ending the contract early, whats stop him from doing it?
@@DeathGripsIsOffline696 idk if this is the same with all contract but from what I've seen, if you ended a contract prematurely without fulfilling your end of the deal, you'd have to pay the other party a sum of money (im unsure of how many) or they can sue you, I'm sure its more legal stuffs but i think jack doesn't want to be involve in any legal cases right now

So sniperwolf is such a favourite at youtube, that she gets notified ahead of time when she gets a copyright claim so she has time to delete the clip? If it was any smaller channel receiving claims, they'd get deleted instantly with no appeal. Great.
If I remember correctly from Lindsay Ellis’a Omegaverse/copyright video, SSSniperwolf gets all of the info on the copyright claim because that’s part of DMCA. It’s not because of how popular she is. She’d get it even if she had 1000 subscribers.
@@iheartbusterk82 It is the lag time between when that info is sent to SnipperBeaver (her people, because I doubt she has the brain cells to comprehend it) and when the system actually checks the videos. She can snipe that clip before the bot combs the video that was requested to be reviewed.
I see this happen often on any other site where it's pretty easy to steal art, as a result, the artist is forced to put watermarks all over because people who already get free content get greedy because they want the engagement or attention. They then get to take the credit for something they didn't make, and even when people call them out for it, it's pretty disheartening because they don't learn their lesson that stealing intellectual property is illegal, even when not much is done about it. Not only that, but with AI, companies have gotten pretty bold by not making explicit statements that say "hey, if you upload your artwork here, we now have a right to own and use it", which sucks for the artists and many platforms are screwing them over for the sake of profit. The world isn't so kind to people who create content these days unfortunately...
SAME OMG. Occasionally I do reactions on my side channel, and every time I feel the need to apologize for pausing so much and rewinding if I miss something, but I would SO MUCH RATHER watch a reactor actually share their thoughts (without talking over the video and missing important things) and clearly care/add to what they're watching.
If they keep pausing it to point out stuff, that usually means they’re actually engaged with the video, which is automatically better than them sitting in silence.
If they wanna eat so bad (let’s be real, they’re doing it not to survive, but to pay for their 3rd Tesla), they could actually put the work in to make good content.
I had this exact thing happen to me and it not only crushed my account but also my morality. I’m still a very small creator and I finally had a video of mine get decent views. It is a video titled, “Are Spider-Man villains scary IRL?” Someone screen recorded it and uploaded the entire video onto TikTok in a bunch of different parts and got three times more views on each individual video than I did on the original. They didn’t even give me credit till about a week later when they weren’t gaining views anymore. Then they deleted all of them and moved on to stealing from the next person. It hurts knowing more people know my video from someone who stole it than the amount of people who know it through me. I’m really happy that you are bringing attention to content theft. Thank you Jack.
I think having people like @PastorPicks is good. I think it should be more accessible but I can see it getting abused if too many people can claim videos. RU-vid has a bad history of verifying claims.
From what I heard, hell content ID is not even available to YPP members unless they're part of an MCN or some other company. So they need to extend that to, you know, independent YPP members, and small creators.
Short form content is the reason freebooting has been insane in the last few years. TikTok, Reels, and somehow RU-vid Shorts is actually insanely damaging for content creators nowadays, all these platforms need to put in copyright claim system in place asap.
I thought shorts would be, you know, short. But most of them now are just freebooting content and using a shitty AI voice to explain the video that literally needs no explanation
@@familyguysofunny1933 And they use an AI voice to hide their identity while racking in millions of views and lots of money, and the platforms that don't pfv will just have the accounts sold after getting thousands/millions of followers.
It’s genuinely great to see all this happening. I’m not a video content creator, but I am an artist, and art circles right now are dealing with enormous amounts of theft, in the form of stealing artist work and intellectual property for AI and NFT uses. Artists intellectual properties are being taken without their permission and shoved into a data base to “make art” off of other artists work, and it’s honestly really disheartening and sad to see. Seeing all this has given me a bit of hope, that things like this can change and do some good.
yeah, it's made me super anxious about my deviant art and newgrounds, i dont think its happened to me yet, but i noticed deviant art has a weird "AI protection" thing when you post, but it goes away after a few days for some reason, idk its really weird.
Somebody re-uploaded my entire video a few years ago. I remember i striked it and the video was completely removed by RU-vid within 60 minutes. Just wanted to share this with other people that may be going through the same problem but don't want to cause they don't believe it will fix anything. It's worth the try ❤
Isn’t the main problem that RU-vid and TikTok pay people to “react”? It would be nice if freebooters were at least forced to share revenue with the creators they steal content from.
thats what daily dose of internet does, he gets "permission" to use creators content and "pays them" revenue for their content and also "features" them in the description. freaking mental stuff, its probably too difficult for a small creator like sssniperwolf to do though
I truly believe that what Jack is doing is going to something. People are talking about it more, people are making videos on SSSniperwolf. So seriously, I’m really glad Jack is the one who started the discussion.
