I feel like delves are almost like the shrines in Zelda. bite sized gameplay for people who are more on the go. Ion did say they'll be puzzles, battles, and other things to do to, so they do remind me of a wow version of them. It's going to be good for causals who can't spend a lot of time, or don't even want to in game. Obviously, there's differences too between shrines and the delves, that goes without saying, but I feel like they were kind of inspired by them a bit.
@@bandoozm916 Lol, yea. There is that craftable mount though as a delve reward, maybe we'll be able to do some things with it than normal mounts can't do.
I think players should spend a lot of time if they really want the good stuff of delves. A lot more casual friendly without the insane theorycrafting and human management of mythic raiding though. I really hope there's a delve that basically recreates withered army training from Legion. That was so good and satisfying.
@@ZodaSoda If my math is correct if you only do the delves for the weekly chest you'd have to do each delve 2.7 times in 4 weeks to get the 3 slots unlocked every week. If you split it up with world Activities in half its 1.35. Which is not that terrible per se but I guess they should spice them up with some random or togleable afixes (something like horrific visions had) or have them build already with multiple branches that are changing every time you enter. Because I dont think they will add new ones at least till 11.1 patch. And at that point I would love to see them add some to previous expansions zones starting with DF maybe to actually give us a reason to go back there.
I hope they make Death knights following rider of the apocalypse be able to do mounted combat when they use deaths advance or something, that would be so badass.
As a cooldown, or in general? Paladins would look amazing doing that too...but then again, we kind of have that already with Divine Steed, don't we...?
I just love how this show case been my favorite been making me genuine happy and curious been watching it over many times and still love this and keep hoping they keep it trough as well love class spec immersion I love it so much
As a DK main since Wrath, I am extremely hopeful that Rider of the Apocalypse will let us be mounted in combat, as many DK NPCs have been. A rough idea I came up with: It doesn't need to give any bonus move speed (slow but inexorable is a core DK fantasy), so make it replace Death's Advance with: - A spell with a 1.5 sec (interruptible) cast time to mount up on your deathcharger (with glyphs to change its appearance between the base Acherus, Rivendare's, Crimson, Winged Steed but it can't fly, Invincible but can't fly, etc), castable even in combat - Infinite duration, 1.5 sec cd if interrupted (that starts after the interrupt/silence ends), but it ends when you drop below a certain % health (or it ends when you lose some % max hp equivalent after it starts) to simulate the enemy killing your mount - While mounted this way, instead of bonus move speed, you're immune to slows/snares/roots/forced movement/etc, and you cannot in any way be reduced below [100% base move speed + your speed stat %]
So if you ignore the static hero talents... the ones you can switch are essentially similar to the talent system we had in Shadowlands - just on a smaller scale. And they even do the "special class name" thingy they already tried to do in Shadowlands, when their vision was to have us be something like a "Venthyr Mage" or similar. All this in addition to the main talent trees. I actually see this as a good and interesting mix. Looking forward to seeing it working... and to really see people identifying themselves with their hero trees.
@@laertesindeedI agree with everything you said - the hero talents are NOT covenant-stuff, as I compared it to the old TALENT system, before additionally mentioning the covenant-name-stuff. Two basic ideas they seem to re-add in War Within, but in a rather different (and much better) way. Seeing it as some kind of additional mastery also is a good perspective in my opinion. Also, I agree with the fact that you initially had no idea what I was talking about. (Sorry) (-: But nevertheless your answer and viewpoints do have great value in my opinion. Quite a lot of the (standard class) talents we still had in Shadowlands also just changed existing abilities, and (in a more limited way) you could change them around to suit your needs. Sound familiar? :) Sure, hero talents do SPECIFICALLY that, but that doesn't remove this similarity. Let's just be thankful that it's evergreen and not just borrowed power upto the next expansion. :)
i would LOVE to see them expand delves so you can have your warband come with you. just have ai use a default talent selection and a static rotation i think it would something super cool doing something with a few of your own characters im not someone who is into rp but i feel like rp players would go crazy with something like that
That would be cool. I really feel developers dont consider these of things. Of course the point of mmo is to play with others, but unfortunately lots of people like in other aspects of life just dont have other people to do things with. So adding more ai/npc stuff with your solo play just provides an overall equal experience for anyone playing. Also with open world pvp events they added for classic . That should be the default for wow as a whole, since like all these hub zones have guards just walking around and patrolling for what reason other than aesthetic. Having npcs be more part of open world pvp would be great, and not just fodder npcs mobs..
@bunnyrabi I think the devs are at least thinking about something. The warband screen is hilarious because it just heavily implies that eventually that screen will take place within your home. I truly believe once this trilogy of xpacs is over, we get "wow 2" aka the same exact game just with a revamped world. They've been making assets for a world revamp forever now. It's starting to all add up. I really do feel like they want the first cycle of WoW to end and basically start WoW2. Just that WoW2 will take place in the same game/engine so everyone can keep their massive collections of transmog and mounts. It will make sense at that point to add player housing, and warbands seem like the beginning of that system.
I think the reason why they are staying away from this is because they don't want to create an advantage for those who create alts versus those who just like to have a main character. They don't want to do what Lost Ark does, which is make alts necessary for maximum efficiency. With the class imbalance we have now we know that people would probably have a warband that would make an augmentation or shadow priest mandatory for maximum combat efficiency. That then creates an advantage over someone who does not have those alts or doesn't play an alt at all.
this is legit the first time i have been excited for WoW's future in 5+ YEARS!!! to the point i just resubbed back to the game after a 4 yr hiatus due to not enjoying the direction the game was going in at the time and maaaaan its like i am a brand new player again. so glad to be back that it feels like coming home again. hopefully blizzard can deliver and keep it up post launch!!!!
Delves are one of the best additions to the feature set. I like mythic + but I can only take so many pug runs before i'm feeling like smashing my keyboard. Delves sound like they offer a more relaxed way to make progress. Which is good when you want to make progress and feel like taking a break from M+.
Something to note. For all the last expansions except this and dragonflight, every Blizzcon there was something they added that made everyone groan. Legion we had random drop legendaries, BfA we had Azerite armour, Shadowlands we had covenant abilities. Every Blizzcon they would announce a feature and everyone would think "that's a terrible idea, please don't do that". I have seen nothing but good things in this blizzcon, every little thing they announced was a positive. Every blizzcon before they tried to say "We listened" but they didn't, they half heartedly did. This time it really feels like they said "Alright fuck it, maybe the players are right" and they're just going with everything we said now.
@ZodaSoda The expansion isn't low on features. Legion was order halls, artefact weapons, legendary loot. Bfa was azurite weapons, island expenditions and allied races, shadowlands was covenants and torghast, dragonflight was a new race/class, dragon flying, talent tree revamp. The war within has: Hero talents, delves, warbands, earthen allied race. It is the same amount of content as the other expansions, more than some, not the most. People are just saying the same shit they did with dragonflight. "WoW it looks like not a lot of content" when it's the same as its always been. This is more of the same, but less shitty systems, but people are complaining now because the shitty systems are what hyped people up and disappointed them later. You shouldn't need a hype box feature if they just make the expansion fun. We asked for evergreen systems, they did it. No more artefact weapons, legendaries or other bullshit.
Ya this is a huge win... What they did with Delves they need to add those features or a similar feature set to professions. They did a bunch of work on professions they need to push that a little further and outside of just gathering resources to then have dynamic crafting options allow the collection of resources dynamically as well. This will let you have people who only want to do crafting to have a ton to do as well as Delves for those that only want world content and M+ for those that want that etc. They also probably need to at some point soon make housing and have that its own system entirely.
W Changes, W Blizzcon, W WoW, "better late than never" has never been more true. i'm gonna gear up my main, level my toons to 70, then i'm gonna fuck off until TWW is out.
I hope they set these up in unused areas in the maps. For example the weird hole in Northrend that never ended up going anywhere that looked like titan tech.
Delves just sound like a sniffenseeker 2.0 update. Which is good improve the tech you already have. Warbands I like the shared bag space finally making storage management across characters friendly, and that with more and more things going account bound it's going to force WoW to make Delves and open world content be good. Less there is absolute boredom the moment you log in (we're already there IMO) and no alt will act as a distraction.
I really think some wow content creator should make a "Shadowlands vs War Within" video just to show the players who dropped the game how many quality of life improvements they've been doing since then.
I love the info they gave out this Blizzcon. Did you feel that they.. admitted to things that have been common issues? I felt less hubris from this Blizzcon.
What I think is really missing from delves - at least so far - is procedural generation. Have thirteen different themes but make each run somewhat unique. Part of what puts me off M+ is the static, solved nature of the dungeons. Sniffin seeking is the same way, but at least those are fast enough that doing the same run for the 15th time doesn't matter much.
@@laertesindeed I never had that problem. It just annoys me slightly that the solution is the same every time. I do like that most of them involve minimal combat because I have alts I can't really play well but can muddle through a few fights even when undergeared.
It’s 13 delves, but he said if you go back to the same delve it will might be different. It’s probably not random generated, but they probably have a few scenarios per delve.
my biggest grudge with battlegrounds: ... in the past u could go in them at any level, u had lvl brackets yeah so lv 19, 29 any ..9 was optimal, but nontheless you could do it before max lvl ..... now, ...u cant. not cuz the game has the option grayed out (like for raids, so u cant easily get a group for old ones -.-), but simply bcuz u can be in queue for a lifetime and there are never enough people to go into warsong gulch or one of the newer BGs ... and thats sad. therefore i really look forwards to the korrak event, finally some leveling alts by pvp, and alterac valley is a still awesome bg
One thing i wonder about hero trees, and trees in general is...what exactly is the point of mana increases, astral power increases, etc...when mana, energy, rage, fury and secondary resources are completely pointless at this point? They don't matter since the bar never actually moves, you never run out of the said resources, unless you're a healer spamming the most expensive spell for 10 minutes straight, basically your resources are infinite, extra 5% mana and 20 astral power does absolutely nothing. Unless they are going back to more ''classic'' roots in TWW when where resources matter...these talents are trash. And to be quite frank...flat damage increases are pretty boring as hell as well.
Am i crazy or is that Kobold standing there with the goblin rig? Are we literally going to get playable kobolds at some point? Cus thats what that looks like. That would be sick.
hot take: i dont like shared rep -- in some cases it makes no sense. if there are reps like in classic u can chose to persue or to ignore (i guess these kinds of faction wont ever exist again, sadly), then i do not want to find my warlock who is an asshole to be exalted with any plantlover stuff, he wants to be in war with them. but reputations nowadays are no real "reputations" as an expression of the personality of your char (well, yall even do not want that, so ...), but more like just passive bars that fill up during what u have to do regardless, and the more full they are the more things are unlocked to do that u have to do eitherway -- in that sense yeah a mere progress-bar can thankfully be accountwide; but thats not what "reputation" used to mean.
@@dg1183 Yes, but at the cost of the individual reagent tab. If we've learned anything about Blizzard over the years it's that they will continue to spam us with more items that take up bag or bank space.
we're gonna have another recylcled fated season 4 with probably none of the DRAGONFLIGHT DUNGEONS in the mythic+ pool no idea why, or who has these dumb ideas. We're getting less content for same or even more money than before. Aren't people tired and disgusted of having only 3 raids and random old dungeons in the mythic+ pool? Don't you want CURRENT EXPANSION DUNGEONS and 4 RAIDS WITH THE LAST HAVING A BIG BAD LIKE ALWAYS? At least thats what they made Iridikron, and that storyline died. Instead we'll just get Cata dungeons as keys where theres no new graphics where you can count the pixels yay.
I dont play M+. I only do Solo Shuffle/Epic Bgs and story stuff. I do play world content and LFR on alts. I couldnt care less about the dungeons, but i understand your concern. If you dont like it stop your sub and wait for the expansion.
@@UltimateGamerCC were you telling me that? I play decently high keys, raid, mount/achiev/lore enthusiast. ALT overlord and so on. The quality of public events is drastically reduced, don't compare these dreamsurges, timerifts and the new bloom event to island expeditions, invasion points or even torghast.
well you sound like that there is nothing, not Blizzard's problem if YOU dont want to do certain things. i'm a Casual Player/Collector and i'm not feeling like you do at all. also Delves are a permanent addition to expansion content, and since we're starting out with 12 different delves, i dont feel like that's LESS content, feels like more to me.@@RobbyBeast
@@UltimateGamerCC dude, its simple we pay the same money for less content in comparison with legion/bfa in any way, less mythic+ new dungeons, less raids, less lore and i'm talking about this expansion, but if anything from what i said above applies to war within then its all the same
