Absolutely....grew up listening to Metallica, one of my favorites from them...AND now after decades I have a new favorite version, still love original but this re-creation by these Ladies is an absolute superb reinvention. There talent is on steroids'!!!! Can't wait till the Pentagenarian reacts to the Live!!!

DPA/TW and Alessia Cara certainly understood the assignment! Alessia Cara is a Grammy winning Canadian Pop and R&B singer... they had 10 days to rip this rendition of *Enter Sandman* from the ether and make it a darker, more eerie, and a more haunting lullaby than the original metal version... this was done because they, and many other artists from numerous genres, were invited by Metallica to take one of the songs from the original "Black" album, keep the lyrics and change it up how ever you like... play it backwards, upside down, whatever... this was all for the 30th anniversary of the "Black" album... all the submissions from 50someodd artists were put on the 2021 "The Metallica Blacklist" album... the proceeds from the album sales are split 50/50 with half going to Metallica's "All Within My Hands Foundation" and the other half being donated to a charity of the participating artists' choice. the version they play in concert has Dany doing the vocals with a backing track of Alessia's ohhhs and ahhhs... of course Ale and Pau join in with their angelic harmonies... it is a fantastic reimagining of the iconic original... this 60+ year old rocker loves both versions of *Enter Sandman* but this one by TW and Alessia gets more airtime these days 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Alessia very sweetly puts you to bed, then Dany rouses the troops, Pau shares a little prayer, and the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one. Live this is amazing. The recording from Teatro is well worth a watch. Their shows in Monterrey and Mexico City this past October, they brought out a string section to play with them on ES. It was so cool to see that live.
I love the hunting gorgeous harmonies in this music video. With only 7 days or so to turn in the finished song is incredible how creative and talented DPA Goddesses are! Viva The Warning!
Their live version is amazing. This is their song now. They recently did a concert in Mexico City and they had a small orchestra for this and one other song. OMG it was glorious. But, dude, you ain’t heard nothing yet. You have been Warned.
Now I would suggest listening to their live performance of this at Teatro Metropolitan, where they do not have to curtail the arrangement for Alessia and it is more The Warning.

Great back story on this video. Dany in an interview said this was filmed at a burnt out factory near their home. For the first few hours it was very scarey as bats were flying all around. They then became friends and all was good after that.
The girls have now done at least 5 versions of this song. Last month they did 3 high production shows where they had a string section from a symphony on stage backing them on stage on this and a couple other songs.
Few bands have the guts to really change up a Metallica song, but The Warning is fearless. Fun facts: About 2:05, bats fly by the image of Alessia on the wall. That was a challenge posed on Patreon by TW, to find the animals in the video. Also, when Day sings "things that bite", Pau shows her teeth.

Alessia Cara was asked by Metallica to do a Black Album song for the thirtieth anniversary. Because Alessia is a pop singer, and she has the same management group as TW, a collab was proposed. Metallica agreed and they created this in ten days in March 2021. Alessia participated remotely as she lives in Canada and the pandemic was in full swing. Pau did the prayer because Ale, who had previously done it, was recovering from wisdon teeth surgery. The video was shot in September 2021 just before the release of the Blacklist album. It was in an abandoned textile mill south of Monterrey, Mexico. TW still play this at all their concerts with Alessia on a backing track doing the vocables. There is an incredible live version from the Teatro Metropolitan concert of August 2022.

The live performance of this is so much better. Sorry Alessia but I’m happy just hearing your vocals on the backing track . They actually played this song live WITH Alessia Cara once. Once was enough. Lol.
A very tasty re- imagination of this great song . This time performed from a females perspective , with a touch of goth and an excellent back drop all done in around a week . Have you heard their live version yet , from the Metropolitan theatre ? Just as impressive as this version , imo. Cheers fella .
If i had to chose one song by the warning this would be the one. Good cover and they put thier own spin on it and it works! The rest of thier music is ok, talented young ladies they are, but this is their best.
Happy 19th birthday to Alejandra today. They definitely made it their own. They only had 10 days to complete this project and submit it to Metallica, the recording itself was completed in 7 days. Track 1 on the Blacklist album, maybe because alphabetically Alessia is first, or it's the best version on the album..... I've seen Metallica on multiple tours, and I love this version, right up there with the original. I highly recommend you eventually complete the trifecta, by watching the live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 performance of this version. IMO , it's even better than this video. The video is really good but the live version at Teatro Met is a must see. Any song from that show is a great one. I love what they did here. Alessia and DPA deserve a lot of credit for putting this together during Covid and in only 10 days. Thanks for reacting to TW. 🤘⚡🔥
You nailed it. They could have played a note for note cover but they already did that when they were children lol. They did something that no other artist on the blacklist album did. They fearlessly ripped it apart and exposed its lullaby underbelly and then brilliantly incorporated Alessias pop voice with their own unique driving hard rock sound. And they did it in just 10 days. I just wish I was a fly on the wall when Metallica first heard this.

It's like they picked up where the original left off and brought it through the night back to the beginning. It is both more feminine and more creepy than the original. Its a masterpiece.

Im not a big Matalica fan, but i do like this rendition, this is the best the warning has put out in my opinion, don't get me wrong, they have a great deal of talent, but most of thier music sounds the same to me. But this was good! It reaches out and grabs you!
Alessia Cara and The Warning are 2 seperate groups/artists The Warning got noticed in 2014 when they were knee high to a grasshopper covering Metallica's Enter Sandman not sure why Alessia got put on this song with The Warning.
Because she was asked by Metallica to create a song for the album - she and the Warning got together and re-arranged the song and created this reimagining. Rolling Stone did a pretty extensive article on it. :-)
Metallica *did have one stipulation for all artists.* They couldn't change the lyrics. So in a way it is a cover. Just like *Johnny Cash* did with *Nine Inch Nails* original song *Hurt.* Like *The Beach Boys* took *The Regents* song *Barbara Ann.* Like *Manfred's Mann* took *Bruce Springsteen's* song *Blinded By the Light* and made it their own.
Of the 5 plus covers of Enter Sandman done for the Black Album there was only 4 people with the balls big enough to rearrange a Metallica Anthem. Ironically it was 4 young women DPA and Alessia Cara, maybe that's why it was track 1 side 1.
