As a person who has struggled with addiction.... This song is SO spot on.... It hit me like a train! I'm 53 now.... There are 3 of their songs that bring me to tears. When I'm Alone, Black Holes, and Breathe!!!!! I have never had a band bring me to tears.... LOVE THEM!!!!! 💯🤘🤘🤘

She wrote this as a young teen (with her sisters). The full band version is awesome as well. (Dakota bar is the OG source). With all TW songs, interpretation is for the listener. I read it (or actually I see it cinematically) as a story of end-stage addiction. The addict cutting off loved ones, knowing she/he is only a black hole of destruction for everyone in their life. “I surrender in my defeat” pretty much sums up the situation. Such amazing insight from a barely teenager (avid reader)

Here's something to consider, Pau was recovering from the flu at this concert, so she wasn't even close to 100%. AND Pau wrote this song when she was 13! Studio version is on their first full album, XXI Century Blood.

I was lucky enough to be one of the 8000 in that room that night. We were trying to support her with everything we had. As others have said, BREATHE follows this. Even more emotion from both Pau AND the crowd (turn on closed captions). I can't recall a more touching live music moment I have experienced in more than 45 years of concert-going.

@@TheDeepDive86 Like he said the next one Pau does on this piano is "Breathe" most heartfelt performance I have ever ever seen in what is now a very long lifetime of being a rock/metal fan (0ver 60 yrs). Paulina is an incredible artist, well all the Ladies are incredible artists. Dany also does a very personal song she wrote at 15 called "When I'm Alone" acoustic on stage by herself....extremely emotional as well. This entire concert is EPIC. Thanks for the reaction. Lost my Brother to addiction so this one right here hits hard.....Love love love The Warning. Finally a band not only writing fantastic music but meaningful lyrics. They have something to say and are brilliant at it. Restored my faith in great Rock once again.

The band was fighting the flu at this 'Pepsi Center' concert, which is hard to remember because they blow the place up. As @TravisFlint1 said, 'I have never had a band bring me to tears', but these girls have done it multiple times. You gotta do 'Breathe'. She sings it right after this song on the piano. The lore about 'Breathe' is that she wrote it as a way to deal with the depression and despair of losing a close friend, although I don't know for sure if she's ever actually said that, but it's definitely heart-wrenching.

Check out "Breathe" which she did right after this. Make sure you have subtitles on since she talks in Spanish at the beginning and it is very relevant to the performance. It also goes into what you saying about artists being vulnerable with their audience. Breathe is a song that was added to the Error album under the condition she never has to play it live. It's too personal to her. But she did at this show, and only this show. Make sure you have subtitles turned on at the beginning.

The composer was 13 yo Paulina. Such a brilliant song. She's definitely a musical genius. Their first two albums, Pau wrote a large percentage of the lyrics and some of the riffs, especially their second album which is a concept album, "Queen of the Murder Scene."

Great reaction! You're right about the importance of an intimate moment between an artist and the audience but this song was just dipping toes in and "Breathe" will drag you down to the bottom of thr sea of emotions.

Unfortunately for us fans, the piano performances are not part of their standard sets. They have rarely performed Black Holes, in the last few years and Pau has only ever performed Breathe once. BTW - don't trust the AI generated lyrics "song meaning" sites, as they are totally wrong many times. The band uses a lot of metaphores, irony and inferrence, that the AI can't pick up on.
