They stick to the old rule of every song should be at least 3 minutes but less than 4. This was popular back when radio played music. Longer songs just never got playing time.
This is from their Concept Album Queen of the murder scene. Pau came up with the Idea to do a Novel in songs. If you follow the story then this makes a lot more sense.
It is from the concept album about a woman descending into madness from unrequited love, you need to follow all the songs on the album in order for the full meaning, they wrote the concept album when they were very young, Pau was the force behind the idea of a concept album and since she was in her early teens a lot is based on ideas she got from vairous sources.
Everyone says the same thing, it's too short. Pau (The drummer) said if you think it's too short hit repeat. Keep up the great reactions to The Warning, and keep playing your guitar the calluses will come and it will get easier.
Its directly related to their concept album and may not nake total sense out of that context. It's notoriously short, but in fact, none of them are terribly long. They actually tried to make it longer but it didn't feel right, so they left it. Play it twice, Pau says..
Yes. It’s shorter than most. They’ve said they tried various times to make it longer, but each time it seemed to detract from the song. In the end, I think it was Pau that said, “just play it twice.”
I love your reactions...they are so genuine and funny. The Warning in all its songs leave a message, a critical reflection. All the songs are written by them and it is worth paying attention to their lyrics.
The Warning - at last 😆 and what a banger you picked but a short one 😢. More Warning needed, I’m getting withdrawal symptoms 🤣 Great reaction Roni, more please 🌹
Glad you got back to The Warning. Yes It is there shortest song. I highly recommend the Queen Of The Murder Scene album play through at Lunario. The music, performances, and story are all worth the watch alone but together is an experience. Dust To Dust is the first track and the prologue for the story.
Great reaction this is a short one the breakdown at the end is epic. They tried to add more to it but always came back to the original. At their show in Mexico they added this on to the end of Dust to Dust and that was cool. DPA said it is short and if you want more listen to it again lol.🤣 Thanks for reacting to TW again. 🔥⚡🔥⚡⚡
I guess we all love that you stay true to yourself, and that nobody bother if that's a short reaction, as long as it's a real one and as always, this one was great ! Thank you ❤❤
This is a great song, and to think that it isn't even in my top 5 by The Warning. My top 5 looks a bit like this, I guess... Queen of the Murder Scene, Evolve, Z, Revenant, and Crimson Queen. That said, they have a lot of great songs competing for the same spot.
@@ronireacts_to_all Oh, and let's not forget their reimagining of Enter Sandman, it's on Metallica's Blacklist album, and I consider it to be a TW original. Teatro Metropolitan 2022 is the go to show if you want to see and hear amazing versions of the above mentioned songs, except Crimson Queen, I don't know if they did that one there, the Lunario CDMX version is great however. And Evolve, well, the version where they showed MTV how it's done, chef's kiss...
Great Reaction! The Warning has a great mix of bangers, like this one, medium rock songs, like 23 and The End and ballad type songs. They recently celebrated 10 years as a band with 3 concerts in Mexico. In Mexico City, while the girls were doing a wardrobe change, they played a video on the big screen that the band has released here on YT. It shows them talking about the first 10 and what it has meant to them. If you watch it, beware, it gets a little emotional, so you've been Warned! "The Warning X Anniversary"
At this point, several have already answered your questions and even told the story behind "DK(CB)"... I just want to recommend that you react to the song "Queen Of The Murder Scene", homonymous from the concept album (masterful art created by them 3 ) that others have already mentioned to you. Of course its best version is in this same performance "Live at Teatro Metropólitan CDMX". In my opinion it is TW's hardest song... and I love it!! Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
The music HOOKS YOU, and the lyrics pull you in. Like Nightwish, the compositions are so damn good....and then the words blow your mind. I love every one of The Warning's songs but only kind of know half of the lyrics. But winter is coming so I will have lots of time to learn them.
Pau has probably penned some of her deepest metaphors in Dull Knives. We know that sharp knives cut better. Why dull? Because the poet, in this case Pau, wants it to be a messy affair. A sharp knife will cut clean but not a blunt one. Next comes the use of the word "dull". In English "blunt" is the adjective used to describe a knife that is not sharp. But Pau used dull to make us think & relate to bluntness of a knife. Intellectualism at its best!!! And then she goes on to write - "I am plucking roses but keeping the thorns". We have come across numerous references to thorns in a bunch of roses in literature. But seldom had any poet said that she preferred to keep the thorns as a prickly reminder of her misery & desperation. How dark is that poetry!!! How dark is Pau's mindspace!!!
Just put the song on loop and repeat it. LOL - Re: your fingertips, Dany had a similar experience when she was first learning (I think she was 7 or 8 y/o). I learned to play bass guitar when I was a kid and eventually played in a few bands during HS and college. My fingertips hurt at first but I got used to it and it made my fingers and hand extremely strong from bending strings. So, there are benefits.
Ale (Alejandra) 🎸🎤+ Pau (Paulina) 🥁🎤+ Dany (Daniela) 🎤🎸 Villarreal. Three talented Mexican sisters. !!!🎵ole ole ole oleeee Warning Warning🎵¡¡¡. Greetings from Argentina.
Glad to see you in such an awesome mood and sharing it with us. Gotta admit, I like these ladies more each time I listen to them. Nothing over the top, just really great talent...just like you! "The wound is the place where the light enters you." - Rumi
If you need to introduce anyone to hard rock then this is the song. Everything that is characteistic of the genre is present in this song except for a guitar solo. They tried adding some and make the song longer at the behest of Luis, their father. But it didn't work out. So Pau said "if you find it short just press repeat".
I like reactors who listens to what a band is saying. In case of The Warning it also becomes how the band is saying what they are saying. Simply because they are the most intellectual band to emerge in a long time. "I am plucking roses but keeping the thorns" Point to note about Teatro is that the girls mixed songs from their earlier albums while promoting their latest one, Error. Dull Knives is the 8th song from their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene, which is their 2nd LP, published in 2018 when they were 18, 16 & 13!!! Unthinkable that a band has the guts to publish a concept album in their 2nd venture. Queen of the Murder Scene is about unrequited love of a young woman who goes through various emotional phases on the verge of lunacy. IMO the dark metaphorical poetry penned by Pau is 2nd only to Roger Waters musing over death, lunacy & despair in The Dark Side of the Moon some 50 years back from now. In Dull Knives the protagonist considers suicide when she realizes that she is losing control of everything. That's why Dany begins with The rush that's in my veins, I can't control it Tell me why This voice that's in my head is getting stronger Tell me how The aching in my bones is taking over Tell me why My blood ain't spilling red I'm freaking out!
Nice analysis! Thank you for that! And yes, now that you are breaking down the lyrics it makes me admire the intellectual aspect of it even more. Thank you! 🙏💜🤘
The protagonist is undergoing a huge mental struggle. She has just murdered her love. She is struggling with her sanity and losing the battle. Cutting herself is a way of expressing her needs to suffer for her actions. Check.out the whole album. It tells the entire story. Queen of the Murder Scene.
It is short! Way too short for something so good. When they first presented it to their inner circle, everyone told them to go back and add to it. They tried a bunch of things and never became satisfied. So it is what it is.
The Warning nos une.
Hi Roni, my apologies if you know this. Others have mentioned, this song is part of a larger work that tells a story of love, obsession, murder, madness and regret. Two suggestions: Listen to the entire album, "Queen of the Murder Scene", which is also a song on the album. It's available in their YT channel and maybe in streaming services. Maybe pull up the lyrics to make it easier to follow along. I may be wrong, I'm a little unclear on timing, but I think the murder has already occurred and the girl is descending into madness and self harm. Check out The Warning's VLOGs 23, 25, and 26 where they explain their thoughts, the creation, and some explanation.
@@ronireacts_to_all Only one. It's an acoustic. I can't get away with the stuff I did in the 80s and 90s. The neighbors would not approve nowadays. 🤣😎🎸⚡🎼
I’m with you on missing the lyrics due to immersion in the music. It’s really hard to listen for them because (for me at least), I miss out on some of the music. One or the other until I’ve heard it a few times.
