This is the number 1 track on Mettalica's Blacklist album. The re-wrote the music and recorded the video in 1 week! I saw them on May 1st and the audience age range was from 18 to 70!! Yes us old people know good music and great artists when we hear them!! ! I'm 60 and I'm in love with the WARNING! Fuck Yeah!

The Warning did an *Enter Sandman* cover back in 2014 when they were teenie boppers. If you haven't, check that video out. Believe one of Metallica said that drummer (Pau back in 2014) kicked butt.

Alessia Cara was asked by Metallica to do a cover for The Blacklist Album, for charity, celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Black Album. Alessia and The Warning share the same international management company, 21 Entertainment Group, and they suggested she do a collaboration with The Warning. With The Warning in Mexico with Producer Matt Squire and Alessia in Toronto, they did this whole thing in ONE WEEK! astonishing! Future Legends!!!

Alissia was asked to do a recreation of a Metallica song for the new "Blacklist" album, something like 53 different artists are on the album. She had the same management as The Warning and invited them to accompany her. The Warning put this together in a week. This is the first track on the "Blacklist" album which was done for charity.

@Gary Littlefield Yet again, the main reason it's first is that artists are listed in alphabetical order for each song and Alessia Cara had a great name for that. The quote from Metallica: _“We said, ‘Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it.’ ” -Lars Ulrich_ The girls kind of do just that. Play it backward and end with the beginning.

@Gary Littlefield I think the real reason it's first is more prosaic -- the songs were done in the same order as on the original (so Enter Sandman is first), and within each song, they did it in alphabetical order of the featured artist (which in this case -- officially, at any rate -- was Alessia Cara). But that said, this is the only Enter Sandman on the album that was creative as opposed to simply a stylistic adaptation of the original. None of the others hold a candle to it. This song is very special to The Warning. Their 2014 cover, which was simply intended for their relatives to see how they were progressing musically, went viral and effectively launched their career. That one is remarkable in how unremarkable it is. It's simply a solid, tight, professional cover by a band that's fronted by a woman and has only one guitar, although that one guitar part is very intelligently arranged. It's only when one realizes that they were 14, 12, and 9 at the time that it becomes remarkable. It takes a band like that, with deep respect for the original, to come up with this brilliant of a version. When I think of Enter Sandman, this is the one that comes to mind now.

I love to see you guys amazed to hear their reinvention of such an iconic song, it's really funny ;) What I'm sure will amaze you even more is that the song was rewritten and recorded in just one week, The Warning in Mexico with producer Matt Squire and with Alessia Cara in Canada because they didn't have more time, the final mix was done by David Bendeth, who has also been the producer of The Warning's third album. The approach was to mix the pop / R&B style of Alessia with the rock of The Warning and to do so they took the song apart and started from James Hatfield's original idea of making a lullaby for his son, in fact his version starts where the original ends ;) And yes, the making of the video is very good and with very interesting creative resources like the inclusion of Alessia through those projections ;) Thanks for the videos ;) Greetings from Spain ;) (Translated automatically by software) PS. Thanks for doing this one, it's really amazing. You need to react to their Mayday EP. Beware the official videos sometimes get blocked, especially for Choke and sometimes Evolve. So, the live sessions may be a safer bet, though you do need to see the official videos too. Also, Disciple has a great video and is a great song with both Dany and Pau sharing lead vocals. The live session for Animosity is great and the video for Martirio, which is sung in Spanish is also terrific. Finally, "Z" does not have an official video but audio only or their performance at Welcome to Rockville (the sound is less than perfect on that one but the performance is great) are well worth listening.

I also recommend Martirio and Disciple (official videos). For a Japanese (and unique band) check Tricot: "Inai" and "Summer Night Town" just to see how different the two songs are

I can only imagine how different it would have been if Alissa Cara decided to make her own arrangement on keys and drum machines and overtracking and vocals... would have been very different I bet... probably good cuz she's a very gifted musician, but it sure wouldn't have been anything like this. And she seemed to have such a great time in the live concert with the warning doing this song.... seems like she's cool with the fact that The Warning did all the heavy lifting in it rather than just being her backing band. Could have gone sour, but seems to be very copasetic and friendly and supportive!

They did all of this from thousands of miles away from 1 another and props to the crew at Lava as well as TW for making it happen in a matter of days! Cara is supposed to be a ghost or phantom, hence the projection on the walls.. like she's somehow trapped in that old burned out building and 1 is not sure whether or not to 'take her hand' ! LOL The harmonies are just epic IMO and ending with the original riffs we all know.. yeah that's the ticket and nod to Metallica. You've said it, others have as well, and I agree, TW and Ms. Cara took a song that was really overplayed and worn out here in the States, and made it their own, reimagined, with new energy. From what I understand, Metallica was really impressed with the results!

This was part of Metallica’s Blacklist album for the anniversary of the Black album last year, they contacted Alesia Cara to do a version of the song , Alesia Cara got in touch with the Warning and you can see the rest. Metallica’s directions to the bands doing the covers was “I don’t care if you play it backwards”, so they did a very unique cover of Metallica’s most iconic song, great job ladies. Bear in mind that they were asked to rearrange the song by Metallica "play it backwards if you want to". So they sort of did. Their intro is Metalica's outro, and their outro is Metalica's outro. Everything in between is just pure imagination and really bringing out the lullaby feel'. It was originally written as a lullaby. That little head snap of Dani's at the start of the prayer always creeps me out a bit.
