Welcome to The Warning and their fan base The Warning Army (TWA). Just some quick info... I'm in my mid 50s and had quit listening to modern rock. These young ladies rekindled that classic rock feeling I've been missing for awhile. They are the best live band I've ever experienced. They're the only band I've ever listened to that doesn't have at least one track I dislike. Most importantly they are some of the nicest, down to earth people I've ever met. They work very hard for their fan base and the fan based is very loyal in return. Very much reminds me of RUSH's fan base. Definitely hope you continue reacting to TW. Meet the Villarreal Velez sisters from Monterrey Mexico. Daniela (Dany) on guitar and most lead vocals, Paulina(Pau ,pronounced Pow) on drums and some lead vocals, and Alejandra (Ale) on bass and backing vocals. Yes, they all do backing vocals and harmonies. Their straight cover, 10 years ago, at ages 14 12 and 9 went viral. "Burnout" is the 6th single from the upcoming 4th album, Keep Me Fed which comes out next week. They have opened for Foo Fighters, Muse, Halestorm, Def Leppard, G'N'R, and 3 Days Grace. Muse is one of their favorite bands, so yes you will hear some of that influence. They are awesome live, but you picked a fan cam so you didn't get great audio. Saw them in Cardiff in April on their UK tour and they played an excellent 12 song, 90 minute set. And last week they played a double bill in Tokyo with Band-Maid! They are fine with reactions to their YT channel content and there is a ton of superb MV's and live performances on there (including a whole gig from a year or two ago and a superb In Studio session). The drummer, Pau, was singing harmonies as she played but the main vocalist is Dani, whose voice reminds me of Grace Slick. Try DUST TO DUST live, NARCISSISTA live or (yes, the live one) their better-than-Metallica cover of Enter Sandman! They started as 10 and 12 year olds in their garage and covered Enter Sandman so well that Metallica praised them for it, which helped with their recognition, though they've worked hard for 10 years, going from lugging their own kit to supporting Foo Fighters on tour and now filling stadiums...and Cardiff Students Union Hall. They put out a hell of a sound for a trio and have a great back catalogue...mostly with better audio than this fan cam, good as it was, especially the In Studio sessions and the Mexico City concert (all on YT). Look forward to seeing your analysis of this song and future reactions and breakdowns to The Warning. And Band-Maid, maybe? Yep. This was the 3rd time they had performed this song Live. All 3 were in Japan, where they had shared the stage with Band-Maid. As with all TW songs, they are best LIVE. The best trio in decades, and the reason R&R is making a comeback.

You have only barely scratched the surface. I’m going to suggest you watch them play their version of Enter Sandman that was included on Metallica’s Blacklist album…but do the live version at Teatro Metropolitan. It isn’t a straight cover, it’s a new version and Metallica loved it. If you want to hear incredible vocals by all three sisters and see artistry in a re-imagined classic, you should watch that next.

Love this fan cam live version. Guitar is so much more up front than the studio version. Also interesting to see Pau add a piccolo snare to the left of her kit. Agree with the reactor that Dany has a lot of responsibility in this one with the vocal and guitar parts overlapped, and very astute remark about the Muse similarity. Muse is one of their idols. Looking forward to part 2 of the review for a deeper dive! BTW, I have tickets for my first The Warning show in Boston MA on Sep 13.

Twa fans, please, if u are going to introduce someone to the warning live, suggest something other than a fan cam. With the mtv mva, teatro metropolitan & pepsi center vids available, why start with fan cams. It's a decent one as they go but much better ones available. One exception i saw was at shiprocked for a fan cam. Even music videos, start with automatic sun.
I like a fan cam! I get that I'm in the minority, but it doesn't put me off. I've gigged for years and you never get a great stage sound, so I'm just sort of used to the white noise chaos of it all

Superb 1st-time The Warning breakdown/analysis Jbf! The Villarreal-Velez sisters are amazing songwriters and performers from Mexico who live in Monterrey, San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY" October 8th, 2021. The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! They are going to release their 4th studio album "KEEP ME FED" June 28th, 2024. And 6 singles off the new album have already been released: "MORE", "S!CK", "HELL YOU CALL A DREAM", "QUE` MA`S QUIERES", "AUTOMATIC SUN", and recently "BURNOUT". The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (recording engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English Bilingual school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. Shortly thereafter they got real instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 24, 22 and 19 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #50+ original songs (not including the remaining songs from the upcoming 4th studio album). Drummer Paulina writes around 75% of The Warning's songs. Most of her songs begin in rock ballad form; starting with a concept, then chord progression, melody and basic song structure on the piano. She may only have a verse and a chorus when she brings it before her sisters. Together they transpose each instrument's part and "rockify" the song. They complete any lyrics, bridges and any arranging, etc. making changes along the way. A 2/3 approval vote of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Paulina has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both guitarist Daniela and bassist Alejandra write equally great songs; just not as many. Drummer Paulina recently won Drumeo's 2023 Rock Drummer of the Year and won Best Up and Coming Artist in Modern Drummer Magazine's recent reader's poll. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 3 more times during the 10 shows I attended on their 2022 North American MAYDAY Tour and 2023 ERROR WORLD TOUR. I have talked with their parents on 2 occasions and have had many conversations with their manager Rudy. I am going to see them again October 8th in Pomona, California and again October 9th, 2024 VIP M&G at The Bellwether in downtown Los Angeles. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. Oh, first time for the Warning? That surprises me, but then again, only one guitar, so... but the drummer, Pau, is fantastic. She and Akane were together playing on stage a couple weeks ago in Tokyo. Actually, all of Band-Maid and The Warning played a new Collab song together as an encore, called "Show Them." So, Kanami and Dani were both shredding their PRSs together. Don't look for the song yet, however, as the only one that is circulating is getting reactors strikes.
Was getting a real Royal Blood vibe from this one. Unsurprising seeing as they toured with Royal Blood last year supporting Muse, who they look on as their biggest inspiration.
Anything bass heavy tends to have a bit of a Royal Blood vibe, having said that Death From Above 1979 have the duo setup, but a pretty different approach

A good review of a good performance with really crappy cell phone audio. As an audio purist, I prefer their live shows recorded officially by the band or their hired pros. At some point in a year or two, there will be a live version of this song worthy of publishing on RU-vid - a live performance, recorded digitally, isolating every mic and instrument pedalboard, plus the computer backing tracks - mixed to perfection the way a proper live performance should be. A great example of that is *Hell You Call a Dream,* Live at Pepsi Center from their October, 2023, tenth anniversary show. A whole concert, similarly recorded, is The Warning Live at Teatro Metropolitan, CDMX 08/29/2022. The Warning's Dad, Luis, is an engineer who ran a recording studio years ago. They also have a hired sound guy, Lalo, who mixes their live shows. And Beto Ramos, Paulina's drum instructor, mixes their official video releases. They all REALLY know what they are doing. Watch and listen to anything from the Teatro Met concert and be amazed. It's gorgeous and it sounds great, and the band was on fire!

In my opinion, it is a good song with interesting points. Also, friendly to the pop ear, which may make it commercially successful, but it is far from being the best of The Warning.

Some really insightful comments but you talk *a lot*, which is great as that’s the whole point of a reaction channel. However some pauses where you maybe collate some of your deeper insights you would be a great help from a viewer perspective. You talk pretty much throughout the whole song - bear in mind that whilst you’re only listening to the song, the viewers are listening to both the song and your commentary and it makes it difficult to follow either when both are happening simultaneously. 🙂

Sorry, but I won't waste my time listening to a crappy phone recording. I'll never understand why people recommend these, especially for an introduction to a band. I wouldn't give this band or any band another listen if this was my introduction to them. You, and The Warning, deserve better. The Warning has a RU-vid channel with lots of official music videos and professionally shot live concerts. I hope you give them another listen with high quality video and audio.
This wasn’t exactly the video to see first of The Warning IMO. Fan Cam’s are notoriously lacking in both video and AUDIO. Try another live, in concert that was professionally recorded such as anything from their concert at “Teatro Metropolitan” CDMX(Mexico City), their performance of “EVOLVE” at the 2023 MTV VMA’s, “Hell You Call a Dream” at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City, “Automatic Sun” with a studio recording over a live video at Tecate Pa’l Norte Festival or…just ask. 🤟TWA

Let's say that they have their genius, their inspiration, their creative talent and their extraordinary quality, yes, but... They have the added advantage of being even better live! ⚡ As you get to know The Warning more you will have to find out that they has various styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!! And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings… All of this is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication. There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world. Without forgetting that there are only three of them, yes, but three true geniuses in their field. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt. They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the key changes, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. It seemed like I was reacting to you instead of the song. Your volume was almost twice as loud as the song and you talked seemingly about 75% of the video. I think most of us hear and see the same things in the sing. Good reaction, but too much talking.
