Dany does solo when a solo fits the song - in the Ladies opinion.

Not that Pau isn't dynamic and a beast. But young Pau played with a careless frantic chaotic ignorance. She didn't think about maintaining proper form to prevent future injuries, or wearing out, saving energy etc. She just played without thinking and it was amazing.

I love both the new and the old. They have to be making modern sounding rock. But the older songs from their first album are just so damn good. I could hear that Stray Cats comparison the instant you mentioned it. And that trick of switching up the harmonies and basslines so they go up in the first verse and down in the second, or vice versa, is something they do all the time. It keeps it sounding fresh without even knowing why. Usually.

For the latest album they said they wanted to make a fun album. After singing about domestic abuse, murder, suicide and addiction etc they wanted light instead of dark.

As you seem to enjoy Pau''s playing as much as I do, once you are done with the Dakota performances, I would suggest to react to their short set at the Hell & Heaven Festival in 2018, that is on their channel. Not the best audio mix, but Pau was on fire that day.

They have mentioned that the decision to do a guitar solo or how long it is, is simply asking does the song call for it and will it add to the song in a way that fits it.
