Thier parents where smart and put their daughters in a school with a special focus on english. In this modern globalized world, being good at english is a VERY helpfull skill, no matter what you are going to do or where you live.

It's, also, reflected in their lyrics. They grew up listening to English (speaking) artists & lyrics. So, thinking (musically) in English came naturally to them. What's stunning is the words that are coming from such young minds. Depth, substance, plot, characters, maturity... not at the lyrics usual for "teen bands" or Rock, in general, at least not most OTHER current Rock. In the same vein, the music they compose is equally complex & sophisticated beyond to usual offerings, these days. Both the music & the lyrics are of a much higher caliber than expected from a band with members these ages. Think about how old they were when they wrote the FIRST album. Although, as I said to someone, remember, the Classical Masters composed symphonies when THEY were kids. And, yes, absolutely, all 3 are very well-spoken in both languages.

How come she speaks with perfect American accent? Did she go to school in the U.S. ? I want to know her secret. So I can practice my English the same way she did.

@@joesitt1 I do not hear the American accent. Her English tone, actually, sounds much closer to Canadian. The family has some long-standing ties to Canada & have spent time here, too. I do not find any of the 3 sound American when they speak English. And I have lived in a few areas both Countries.

An 18 year old self taught professional musician, touring with major acts, writing and singing her own material, drumming at an unbelievable level and you're gawking on her English skills? Seems askew. WTF does it matter?

@@westmus Ah, ok. Well, that's, still, in the same sphere, same 'in principle', as her sisters.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if these are names they have learned to know through their music teachers or parents. Ale mentioned Esperanza Spalding in one the earliest interviews and Pablo her bass teacher are a jazz/funk guy. Some fans may have gotten surprized by seeing the favorite songs the sisters listed on instagram. It was far from the classic rock that some fans probably expected.

@@westmus People may, also, not necessarily be aware of the varied and valuable background they all have that contributes to the 'now'. They have an unusually well-rounded classical and rock, new music & old, familiarity... both as listeners and as players. Plus, attending Berkley. There are so many factors making the Villarreals special in spite of their age not, because of it.

Drew CI , They have also been unusual heavily supported by their parents. They didn't just get some music teachers, because the guys teaching were performing musicians with their own career. They were also allowed to use their time on music instead of following school in a normal way. Regarding Dany mentioning Brian May .... "Queen forever Mo..Fu...s" thats a quote from an video her old guitar teacher Pavel have on his YT channel. I guess he's a big Brian May fan. 😄

I haven't seen her trash her drumset yet (don't do it!) but she has that kind of intensity. There are a number of young, excellent male and female drummers you can see on RU-vid but few that I want to watch over and over and over again. Zeppelin is my favorite band and I always - can't help it - compare drummers to JB. Saw Aerosmith and the drum solo was like, meh. Pau? Good God- she smashes most other drummers to bits and is absolutely mesmerizing. I love when she throws out that glare, delay-whacks her cymbals, nearly leaps off her seat, throws her hair around... it's a joy to finally, finally have someone to follow. A band that doesn't sell out to commercial radio and writes/plays real guitar, bass and drum rock music. Having a hard time coming up with one; I'm sure there is but me having to think about it means they're doing something right.

Hay Christopher, I complete agree with you, look to Pau on 1st night opening for the Killers, on the end from Dull Knives she had pain on her righthand so you can see, but then start Survive and nobody could see what's wrong, she plays better then ever, that makes her so outstanding good. Christopher Schultz, emotional and energic, may be a way of describing Pau's drumming style. That make her performances very fiery. Torry from The Donnas actually had some of the same thing going. Pau is also a very melodic drummer, which like Bugs said in a video may be because the sisters write their songs in the "wrong" way. Hard rock songs written on a piano and with the drums added as the very last part, are probably one of the secrets behind that they don't sound like a copy of another band. 👍

Ecstatic Violence is a great way to describe it. I could watch her play all day!! And I have : ). She is simply AMAZING!! PAU!!!!
