Ashlena: “I’m glad I came in at their peak. If I would have seen them younger, I wouldn’t be interested in listening to kids play”. The Warning Ted Talk: “Hold my beer” 😂😂😂 Great reaction! I’m really enjoying watching your journey. Have fun at the concert. 🤘🎸🎶
This was after their first album tho which is a significant step up from the early covers and their first original songs. I remember watching that 2014 Enter Sandman video and going "Wow they are really good for such young kids. I hope they keep going and go on to make their own music one day!" and then I promptly forgot about them and only after having discovered them via their own music years later did I realize that they were the kids from that viral video and my hopes had been realized 😁 I also purposefully avoided the TEDx video for the longest time because I was afraid it would be cringe and the music spoke for itself. Turns out it's not cringe 😊
@@ashlenamusic If you really watch this video you can tell the pride in their eyes when they watch their sisters speak or play their instruments. It would not be the same in a band that are not related. And a strong reason for their strong bond might be that they still to this day ( _for all I know_ ) still share their bedroom. Being together is natural for them and I wonder how this might change once they get a bigger house with more rooms.
i saw them live in Berlin, you will love it. by the way, the warning were invited to the "wacken open air" in 2024, which is one of the biggest metal festivals in the world. greetings from Germany🤘🤘🤘
This is great info. Wacken is more a boulder than a stepping stone to the Metal Music fan base. Their friendship with other big time bands is growing every day! They WILL be HUGE. There's no stoping them now!
This performance of Survive was my true introduction to The Warning, I had seen the Enter Sandman video and the Ellen Show but kind of brushed it off. However, in October of 2019 I had to have my left leg amputated above the knee do to circulation problems. After multiple surgeries and recovery I went to be fitted for a prosthetic leg. While talking with the Prosthesis about what I liked and what not he brought up The Warning. I went home and searched them on You Tube and the video for Survive came up first with Pau's intro You Have Been Warned! I was nearly in tears because of the little speech of her and Dany. I looked at their channel and saw the title Fade Away and seen how young the looked so I gave it a listen and it became the song that got me to where I am now nearly 5 years after the amputation. I joined their Patreon as soon as I could and sent them a message saying what I'm telling you now and thanking them for the songs Survive and Fade Away. I got a reply from them in just a couple of days thanking me for sharing my story with them that was so touching it made me cry and I've been with them on their journey every since. Thanks for doing your reactions and welcome to TWA.
@@randymarple9830 I saw them on the Mayday Tour with Halestorm exactly a year ago. There was no meet and greet for the show but I did meet Rudy because he was working the merch booth for the show.
This video never fails to CHOKE me up. Such amazing people and we should all thank Luis and Mona for always encouraging and supporting these girls. I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say they have made the world a better place. Their art has touched so many.
Ashlena, now you know why they call Paulina "small pocket nuclear reactor"...😂😂😂😂 Great reaction, this video has made me cry a few times and smile like a fool every time!
The performance of Survive at this TedX appearance was how myself, and many others, were warned. Once I watched the whole appearance, Pau already impressed me with her drumming in Unmendable but the part during Survive where she broke or lost a stick and just got a new one while keeping the beat was so smooth and insane. Dany's quote "music is passion, music is hope, music is life" has become very famous among The Warning Army and we usually use it to describe Dany, "Dany is passion, Dany is hope, Dany is life"!
Ok, I’ll watch this TedX for the 387th time…one more can’t hurt…? That was a great performance by Pau - she only broke 1 drumstick. Some fans called her Animal from the Muppets, some called her Shredder, most don’t dare call her anything lest they get the “stare”. She broke a kick drum at one of their shows and has to change out snares between songs before. She plays much more efficiently now because she doesn’t have to swing so hard to generate power and the fact she was hurting herself behind the kit. She rarely breaks sticks now.
Jeeze you are going to have a blast Ashlena! It wouldn't surprise me at all if The Warning have already watched some of your reactions to them. I have seen videos of reactors during their meet-n-greet and the girls have said "hey... we watched your reaction to us... thank you so much". And some of those were from not that long ago. 🗣 Take good care of yourself, get some rest, and get well soon! 👊🤓
As far as not liking rock music, I personally know several people who have never liked rock music, but now love The Warning! I believe these young ladies will single-handedly bring rock music back into the main stream. LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
They did a TedX a year earlier than this one. They also did an interview in Canada last year that is really good and you should watch it sometime. Their first english interview in 2015 is also a must see
There is a reason they have so many of us adopted crazy aunts and uncles. We love them because of who they are as people, and will fight to protect them if necessary….sometimes even when it isn’t. 🤟🏻
I have watched all of your TW reactions several times. I live alone and, since I moved, don't have many friends close to the state I live in, so... this band, certain reactors, and ALL of the fans are the people I hang out with. The ARMY is great!!@@ashlenamusic
They have had that special “it” factor from the very beginning. It was around this time that I started saying that they would one day be known world wide and even be recognized as the greatest power trio of all time. I still stand by that statement. LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
Highly intelligent, well spoken, passionately driven, story telling, rock prodigies. They deserve to be playing for soldout stadiums. Please support this band in anyway you can. I'm a very proud patreon for over 2 years. They provide their patreons more content than i can watch.
When they said "people who wanted to be part of our journey...", to be clear they meant record labels who wanted them to makes their sound pop, sexualize them, etc. This TedX Talk was recommended to me by RU-vid and is what started my The Warning journey, so I will always have a soft spot in my heart for it. Also just want to remind everyone that, subscribing to them on Patreon is probably the best way to support the band, gives you access to a lot of fun content and in the 2 highest tier will even let you have a monthly live chat with them and access to Dany teaching how to play their song on guitar.
Or "Three; your envious of how great they are" Just sayin' There's a chance of hearing "survive" and/or "When I'm Alone" at the show. "Survive" is one of the all-time fan favorites, especially for long-time fans.
The Warning was fan funded through their first 2 albums. The fans have been there for them, from the start and the band has been there for the fans. Part of their record contract that they insisted on was the ability to keep their Patreon community. Today, they have over 2,900 patrons (still room for you 😉).
Two videos before: "I don't like to listen kids playing instruments doesn't matter how good they are"...three doritos later on the TEDx video..."OMG, I'm fan forever" XD ..We didn't expected less than that of course! Viva The Warning!
This performance never gets old. This is the one that sealed the deal for me, and then I was immediately binge watching everything I could find from this band. Now I just need to see you react to the QotMS album debut at Lunario. Thank you for all the fun reactions over the past couple of weeks. 🤘
@@ashlenamusic A live stream of the Lunario concert would be epic! That performance is legendary - Dany’s portrayal of the Queen slowly descending into madness is just incredible. QOTMS is a masterpiece of an album.
Careful with the full live reaction from Lunario, although it is the best for QOTMS I've seen many reactors getting blocked mid live stream. My advice is either doing the full lunario in a stand alone not live stream video or post a video per song. I must add that lunario concert although is the QOTMS public debut they play some other songs from XXI Century Blood album so you may want to check song by song which they have in their channel.
Survive is mind blowing. They may have still had a babysitter when they wrote it. A simple story with a complex & meandering melody that leaves me speechless every time I hear it. Never gets old!
The second song "Alone" Dany wrote while she was at Berkley and was home sick. She had a weekend assignment to write a song and that was it. They will more than likely sing Alone and Survive at your concert. Thank you for the reaction. TWA
FYI, they were at Berklee College of Music (in Boston) rather than Berkeley (in California). These often get confused since they are both prominent educational institutions, but quite different from each other.
My favorite part of this TEDx is always Ale's bass outro. Not sure why but its just a perfect way to end it and keeps that bass line running in your head long after it's over.
I think I speak for most fans when I say these things: 1) it's impossible to discover these girls and not become obsessed with their band; 2) their songs are so good that they stand up to repeated listening; and 3) this is the only band I know of that you can just fall in love with.
One of TW's greatest strengths imo...two incredible lead singers! And Ale could be a third but she chooses not to which is obviously totally fine. Thanks for your great support of DPA, Ashlena! 🙌🤘😎
Like many others, this was the performance video that hooked me on The Warning. It wasn’t the year this video was recorded, but in 2020, during lockdown. I was watching other reactions of classic rock music and this came up in my RU-vid feed. Was curious, so as I watched I was wondering, who is this band, who are these girls? The rabbit hole was deep and I wasn’t going to climb up out of it. No way. The rest is history.
Awesome reaction Ashlena. I played music in high school, years and years ago. I have friends from that time that are studio musicians, and others who still play. The talent they showed, at this age (and younger) is not at all typical, is it? Then you have their maturity and professionalism at this age and it is so beautifully ridiculous. I come back to watch this TedX on occasion because it is so inspirational. Three absolute classic The Warning songs, from their first album, that I'll never tire of listening to.
The best part about this was the ladies knocked it out of the park musically but their words were even more impressive. They are wise beyond their years. Kudos to their parents who raised three amazing souls. ⚡
When I saw this video nearly 7 years ago my mouth hung open the whole time. When I heard that these were original songs it blew my mind! I knew some day they were gonna be huge! Since then I have met them many times and even was invited to there house to watch them do a practice session! I was the first fan to record them on video in there own home. it was an honor to have that opportunity and now it's amazing to see them explode on the scene! You will love them in concert, be prepared for they are LOUD but sound great, enjoy!
This show has pushed a lot of fans into the rabbit hole called the Warning. there is another one recorded in 2016 also in Nevada. The album xii Centuary Blood came out around the same time and later in the year Def Leppard took them on a short tour as opening act in Mexico City and Guadalajara and then on to Monterrey to open a festival with Def Leppard, Alice Cooper and several other bands Aerosmith was supposed to be there as well but the singer got sick, so their first exposure to the "big time". Not sure what 12 year old Ale thought of touring with a rock band but Pau recalls as a 15 year old sitting on some steps talking about how to stay hydrated on stage with Rick Allen their drummer, and Joe Elliot thought enough of them to play some of their music on his radio program in England.
@@ashlenamusic id like that. By the way you should make some shirts with The Warning lyrics. my favorite is not from a song but what Dany said, (music is passion, music is hope, music is life)..
This TedX was my introduction to the Warning - and I felt exactly as you do: this band is so good and is going to be an enormous success. Especially with as young as they were displaying the massive amount of talent they had individually and as a band. They sound only like themselves … no one else sounds like they do.
Precocious with a capital P. It's hard to miss their potential and not be "Warned" after seeing a performance like this. Each of them shows how special they are already. Pau going apeshit is a particular highlight for me.🤩
the songs are Unmendable , When I'm Alone (Huele e Melon) and Survive from their XXI Century Blood Album, their 1st Album . and the people they are talking about who want to change them, was Disney , Simon Cowel and many more
Another late night with you but another good one. It’s just after midnight here. I really enjoyed watching your facial expressions and reactions. This band gives everyone the shocked face. Can’t wait for the next reactions. If you do 23 or breathe 🥷🧅
Holy crap Ashley! You came here!! This is where many of The Warning Army discovered them!! Obsession is one word to describe where you are at! Fun Fact: what ever year you see posted for a video, that is Daniela's age, so this one she is 17, then you just subtract 2 for Paulina's age, 15, then -3 for Alejandra!! (12) So no matter what you see, if the date is accurate to the performance, you'll know their ages! I mean...come on...what were we all doing when we were 12?!?!?!?! NUTZ!
@@randymarple9830 Yeah I know, I didn't mean to come off as a jerk, it's just that there's a very short window every year where Ale gets to be only 2 & 4 years younger than her sisters! lol
Pau inspires me to sit at my drum kit (I suck) every single day. however, Dany's shredding at the end what gets me in this song another great reaction, thank you Ashlena.
Unmendable, When I'm alone and Survive are from XXI Century album (their first). The first one are rarely played these days (unfortunaly). Meanwhile Survive is always played when they headline a show and When I´m alone not always. This was their second TEDx Talk By the way, did you see Paulina playing in high heels? and when she break her drumsticks? Survive in Teatro Metropolitan has also realesed in youtube
I’m not sure if you caught the broken drumstick-a piece of it lands on a cymbal. Pau then grabs a new stick (where you said, “Very good recovery!”. She then smashes that cymbal and the piece goes flying!! Start at 16:45 Fantastic reaction, as always!
Comparing the earlier videos like this and the music video for XXI Century Blood you'll notice Pau has tempered her drumming action somewhat in recent years. She did garner a reputation for going through sticks at quite a rate and the recovery you noticed during Survive was due to stick break. It happened a short while before she switched and you'll spot a shard of drumstick detach itself and come to rest on one of the cymbals to her right. A little after the recovery the camera switches to a front view of the band, Pau hits the cymbal in question and the shard goes flying in the air. But in all the newer videos there's no less in the way of attitude from her, but the action is a less 'elbows up'
They have done many versions of survive over the years but this will always be my favorite performance. That they were this good this young is so inspiring. I think if you have kids and you want to encourage them in playing music, show them this ted talk. ⚡
It's recorded in January 2017 Dany was 17 few days later (30/01/2000) Pau 15 few days later (05/02/2002) Ale turned 12 the last december (13/12/2004) 1- Unmendable 2- When I’m Alone 3- Survive 2 of these song are in the videos of the teatro metropolitan (when i'm alone you know and survive ) And Welcome the Warning Army!!!!!!!
PAU'S BREAKING STUFF.. WOOD FLYING EVERYWHERE.. AND SHE'S PLAYING WITH HEELS ON ... WHAT THE HECK..... still can't wait to watch your face when you do DISCIPLE & DULL KNIVES.. SEE YA, BE GOOD.... TWA🤟🎶☮️
Great reaction🥰 Their two Ted Talks programs are a wonderful reflection on them and their parents. Theirs is such a heartwarming story. We share your passion for this band and enjoy your loving reactions to each song. We continue your journey with you.
You’ve undoubtedly been told that there are no bad songs from The Warning. Never has a more true statement been written. Even their earliest songs were incredible. Their voices may have been those of young kids, but the fire was alive in them.
This was my hook line and sinker. Like I was lost in the forrest then at a distance heard Dany's unique beautiful voice that took me to an open door and Paulina's thunderous drums pushed me in and Alejandra's cuteness but also thunderous gorgeous lines locked the door to be forever locked in the wonderful The Warning dungeon! 😂 All the faces you were making were as if I were watching this for the first time all over again. Thank you for this reaction and have the best time ever at their show Ash!
Another great reaction! Unmendable and Survive are SO amazing! Both songs Pau just goes crazy! You nailed it at the end with your comment. If you don't like The Warning, you either don't like rock music or you don't like women. Paulina was told as a little girl that she can't play the drums because she is a girl and That the drums are a boys instrument. I'm glad she proved them wrong because, WOW!!
As far as not liking rock music, I personally know several people who have never liked rock music, but now love The Warning! I believe these young ladies will single-handedly bring rock music back into the main stream. LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!
I always sing along to the line in When Im Alone "i wish i could re-write, the story of my life", it's so poignant and sounds so pretty in the song. love them!
They do Survive at the Teatro Metropolitan concert... They have always been super professional. Your comments about why someone might not like them are spot on. Most non-rockers are usually won over; the ones who can't deal with women being so good are just irritating.
Well around here I learned to know their art. I know, I know a bit late but how would I know? 6 years later and still every day a Warning moment of some kind if so only chatting about life with other members in the TWA community that I would never have learned to know without this band 🤠
I always knew they would be successful, I could see their talent in their song writing abilities, I'm now a fan for life. This very video sealed the deal for me back in 2017... There was no turning back!!!
Now that you are a full fledged Warning Army Fan , Welcome. I am so happy that you did this one today and the Tidal one It gives you insight to them. Once this week and Sunday and Monday is over you gonna get a lot of request.
Superb Ash, this time you have kept me up to 7.45am UK time watching all three of your posted reactions today. This particular video endeared many new fans for The Warning. I consider this performance video the holy grail of all The Warning videos. Every The Warning fan should have watched this and enjoyed this. Survive is insane and a fan favourite. I can still see them playing this song at their live shows ten years from now. Great reactions for Amour and Tidal rising too. I must sleep, I have work later. 🤟
This was my introduction to The Warning in 2022. Being retired, I spent the next 2 weeks listening to every TW video I could find. I smiled at your comment in the Tidal Rising video that @demonhoopa commented on and it was the perfect response. Did you notice Pau's hair... with the blonde dyed layer? When you showed off your hair the other reaction a few days ago, I thought "This woman is a kindred soul to Pau!" And gargle with salt water, get a lot of rest, and have a blast at the concert!!!
Survive from this video was my very first exposure to TW and I was instantly hooked. I watched Dust to Dust immediately after and down the rabbit hole I went and have never looked back.
Thank you Ashlena for this tribute of The Warning. I’ve been following them for a couple of years now. I can’t get enough! It’s enjoyable watching someone new join The Warning Army discovering their amazing story and skills. We all treat them like our little sisters since we’ve followed their story since they were kids. What’s amazing to me is that in the beginning I was just fascinated with this anomaly of young girls playing rock and doing it so well. But now my attraction to them is great rock with clever mature lyrics from highly skilled seasoned professionals. And I totally agree, they do not have a single bad song. I’ve been unable to see them live even though they’ve come to my city twice so I look forward to your stories you share of your experience. Enjoy the show!❤
Amen Ash! I couldn't say it better so thank you great reaction as usual. I said after I watched your Disciple reaction that Survive was another song where they share lead vocals and I'm so happy you've seen it now very cool.
Hi Ashleena i am german fan of the warning and now of you and your channel . Iam glad that u did tedx because Survive is the Highlight of every show . Also When I'm Alone . My English is not so special but let me saying i like what u are doing here . Concert will be fantastic . Greetings from Germany . ❤❤❤

Hope you have a great time at the concert! This was my first introduction to their live shows. This show has my favorite version of "Survive"! Pau breaks two sticks and it doesn't slow her down. Now the show that you will be going to may not be having these songs, but if there is a Jar song at the show, one of these songs may be pulled from the jar! I totally love these girls!
Amiga. Muy lindas y sentidas tus palabras al final de tu reacción. Se agradece. Deseo de todo corazón que puedas disfrutar a lo grande del show en Toronto. Saludos desde la Patagonia Argentina.
This is my favorite live performance. So young, so talented and overcome all challenges! I love you're reaction because it reminds me of my instant love of this band.
i can't add anything else that the other 130+ commenters have not already said... you definitely have experienced the spell and thrall these Angels of Rock have cast on so many people... i look forward to the rest of your reactions and definitely hope to see the live stream live... TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Hey Ashlena! Many of TWA discovered them through these TEDx Talks. I rediscovered them 4 years after their Enter Sandman cover, right after Queen of the Murder Scene was released in late 2018. I watched Survive 5 more times to actually believe WTF I was seeing and hearing was real. After That I dug in to watch every video, concert and interview I could find. I literally listened to no other band for a year after that! Shock and a Awe is right! I have seen them 4 times in the last 16 months, and I am trying to fly to Cancun over Thanksgiving weekend in November to see them again! And YES, someday soon they will be the biggest band in the world!
The one thing I love about the warning as you can tell that they have so much fun on stage. Refreshing to see that in an artist. Just the enjoyment of playing .
You should watch their concert cum storytelling at Agua Fria in Monterrey, México on 26 May 2018. There the girls talked about their journey till then and did a Q&A session at the end. A journey that included Disney, Nickelodeon, AGT & Voice of Mexico approach The Warning & turn them into pop princesses with total control on their creative output & costumes. The girls refused. A journey where a producer of Glee asked them whether they would prefer to play in front of 12 people or 12,000. Pau didn't think a second to answer with 12 if that entailed they stayed true to their selves & their music. TheWarningArmy RU-vid channel has the entire concert as a playlist starting with the 1st song Free Falling which is concatenated with the other 16 & QnA in the end. Turn on captions for English subtitles. RU-vid isn't letting me paste the link here.
The girls made their own reaction video of this performance. Pau couldn't believe how high she was raising her arms and how hard she was hitting. She also mentioned several times how adorable Ale was and she wanted to hug her. This performance was only 3 years after the Enter Sandman video and about 2 years after the release of Escape the Mind EP and they would release Queen of the Murder Scene November of 2018 and Narcisista as a single in 2019 then record Error in 2020. Later in October of 2017 they would perform at the first Mother of All Rock Festival with a line up of Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Vince Neal, Buck Cherry, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown. This would be the third time opening for Def Leppard after opening for them in Mexico City then being directly invited by Def Leppard to open for them in Guadalajara.
