Wise. Beyond. Their. Years. Even now at 23, 21 and nearly 19. This video is brilliant. And what a great way to start my morning. You radiate a calm, peaceful coolness. Thank you!!! ... NOTE: They were 17, 15 and 12. Read that again.
Kids are not supposed to be able to make music this good. I believe Pau was 14 when she wrote the lyrics. And the song is super very well constructed and obviously they play and sing very well and perform like actual rockstars. But they weren't "good for a bunch of kids" they were just very good full stop
What a great reaction. You totally captured the essence of this song / video, or at least your understanding of it totally agrees with mine! More 'The Warning' please 🙏
There are a couple of things that stand out in the beginning of the video. The guy in the parking garage takes his blinders off and the thought police come after him. The next time we see the three of them the protagonist's blinder is now a muzzle. Then when the guy in the office has his blinder removed the scene goes from cold colors (bluish and gray) to warm colors (oranges and yellows) very imaginative and to the point story telling it is great
My interpretation of his "resurrection" ... technology (and social media) has created an alternate reality. You're actually living life when the symbolic blindfold is off.
I believe this is the first song that you have reacted to from The Warning’s first album and yes, they have got somewhat heavier over the years. Part of that is in the production. This album is all about the ills of modern society and is very good even if it is not as polished as their later albums. There is only one other video from this album and that is a lyric video for “When I’m Alone” and the live presentation of this album is the concert from the Dakota Bar. They mostly don’t play songs from this album live anymore but a few performances have crept in here and there.
Right on. They continue to include Survive and When I'm Alone pretty often, including at the Teatro Metropólitan show in 2022 and the Pepsi Center show this year. I still watch their TEDx performance of Survive as often as their newest material. Pau's performance of Black Holes (plus Breathe) at the Pepsi Center brought both her and a crowd of 8,000 plus (and me) to tears. They did 23 songs at the Pepsi Center, but they have more on the way, and ya gotta start cutting somewhere. It'll be interesting to see their setlists a year from now!
Ale was 12 when the album was released, so she was 11 when they were writing it. She was still in grade school and had to take time away from school to record an album! Dany was 17/16 and Pau 15/14. And a year later they released their second album and most ambitious project, a Rock novel. Their level is genius is not fully understood. Individually they have composed songs but around this time they were beginning their current creative process where Pau initiates the song concept, pitches it to her sisters and then all three of them mold the song with contributions to each other's parts. They largely perfected the process with the second album, though it wasn't easily accomplished as a couple of songs push them to their limits. They are still ruminating on these themes in many of their compositions, going into more details with a sharper focus on what's wrong with modern society.
Curious when people will stop skipping over the child indoctrination scene. Those that are not willing to speak on it are still blindfolded, Wouldn't be there if the warning didn't want it talked about
Great reaction, you nailed it on the interpretation. Such a great video & impressive song from the ladies first album (XXI Century Blood). To be able to write & play songs at this level at their ages at that time is incredible. FYI - I have all three of their albums (both vinyl & CD) and there is not a weak track on any of them. They do not miss! On top of their incredible recording skills, they are even better as a live band. Pick any of their live performances from their RU-vid channel and you will see. More of The Warning please!
@@KoalityReactions Even their EP, Escape the Mind, has a couple of gems. Their school assembly at Liceo de Monterrey is a good introduction. They did some originals and some covers. Among other things it was to show how advanced Pau and Ale were since they did not meet the age requirement for the Berklee School of Music in Boston. The best video I know of was put together by Trey Salazar. THE WARNING at Liceo de Monterrey (Complete) || June 8, 2015
Written when they were 12, 15,😢 and 17 years old. (Earth Years...) They are beautiful examples of old souls showing up here to show us different ways to see "reality "❤❤❤
Wonderful reaction, I appreciate the insight you expressed. love many of The Warning's music video's, they seem to be well thought out and meaningful themselves and this one and the one for Martirio are my favorite. I would like your reaction as an artist on that one.
To put their musical understanding, knowledge and songwriting prowess as youngsters in perspective, Ale was in FOURTH GRADE when this song was written and subsequently recorded. Previously in 2015 at ages 10, 13 and 15, all three girls earned scholarships and attended a Summer youth program at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, where they not only received additional training on their individual instruments but also studied music theory and composition. Mind-blowing!
Them phones don't look so cool now, huh? Notice how thecolors change when he takes off his blind fold, like it's a whole new world, and Pau wrote tis when she was only 13!
3 very young kids writing this kind of relevant message at their age 12 - 17 is amazing they were younger when they actually wrote it. Dany's solo was really good she was awesome early on all of them were so talented.🤘 The stare down at the end is pretty cool. I love your reactions and was happy to see you react to this video. Thank you 🤟⚡🔥⚡
The quality of songs on this debut album is mind-blowing. There are literally six "deep cuts" on this album that get lost in the shadows of the other songs and all their other great tracks from QOTMS and ERROR. Personally, I'm drawn to the trio of Wildfire, Unmendable and Copper Bullets.
This is the first song on their first album XXI´st Century Blood. It´s definitely one of their best songs and they should incorporate it in their set list. The solo is a marvelous Dany solo and the other two are rocking out. You should listen to this album because it´s very good. The song "When I'm alone" is also part of it and very good. Great reaction.
Check their music in this order, so you can understand their evolution. - Escape the Mind (EP-2015) - XXI Century blood (Album-2017) - Queen Of The Murder Scene, (Concept Album-2018), This album is a masterpiece. - Narcisista - (Single-2019) - Error (Album-2022) - Enter Sandman - This is their version, included in the Metallica “black list” album . - More (Single-2023)
Our devotion to technology has led to a disconnected world, surrounded by people but connected to no one. Take off your blindfold and see the light. Take a leap of faith.
You need to watch The Warning's performance at the video music awards playing Evolve. They did it in one take, and the producer was so blown away, he yelled "Holy Shit" into his headset.
Ale (Alejandra) 🎸🎤+ Pau (Paulina) 🥁🎤+ Dany (Daniela) 🎤🎸 Villarreal. Three talented Mexican sisters. !!!🎵ole ole ole oleeee Warning Warning🎵¡¡¡. Greetings from Argentina.
Enjoyed your reaction to this masterpiece! For me, it's like some great movies I've seen, where you catch something new the second and third time you watch it - although I've probably watched it 30-40 times. One thing I caught only recently, thanks to a reactor or possibly a comment to a reaction, is that the guy they catch at the beginning returns to the machine with his mouth covered, rather than his eyes. Also interesting that the kids in the playground aren't even texting. They're just sitting motionless staring at their phones.
Nice Reaction! Yes, this is little older song than ones you have reacted to before. This is the title track to their first album, XXI Century Blood (2016?). Their second album was Queen of the Murder Scene (2018) and their third was Error (2022). Ale (Bass Player) was 11 or 12 in this video.
Hey Jenna, new sub. Your analysis is great, as is your content. I’ve seen these ladies three times over the last couple of years and it’s been tremendous to see them “evolve” both in terms of talent and comfort. Dany just gets better and better. Pau is a true force and my favourite. Ale is really coming into her own. They are unforgettable live. Thank you for these reactions.
A very aware social commentary written bu teenagers! The Warning are wise and talented well beyond their years! Epic song and video, and awesome reaction!
The beginnings of The Warning in terms of style were more varied, they played various types of rock genres and have gradually ventured more into Hard Rock but they do not identify with a style, they simply say that they play Rock which is the correct definition to avoid that specific classification
Thanks for your really in-depth discussion of this really cool song - it is, now, six years + old!! So yeah they sound a little different now. But, they have returned to the themes discussed in this song in their new album, with songs like ERROR, Z, DISCIPLE, and KOOL-AID KIDS ...
They have a formidable innate talent, each one of them. Innate but with practice taken to the sublime. Despite their youth, they already have a lot of experience on their path in addition to their great preparation since they were children. Their attitude, discipline and will to achieve their goals are leading them to great, well-deserved achievements. They are still on the road to the top, but with too much potential, enough to think it will be inevitable. Furthermore, the volume of quality that each of their creations implies is great… and the number of songs that carry said quality is enormous, which for me could be “The Warning label.” I’m sure that each of their creations is subjected to a meticulous quality process before finally seeing the light… And not only in the technical aspect, but we have also already proven that they have an exquisite taste for good music that emanates from them when they become inspired and creative. Added to all this is that they are surrounded by an excellent family and fraternal team totally committed to their project… And they have a fan base, “The Warning Army”, tremendously loyal to them that is decisively involved in supporting them because they have deservedly earned it for being incredible and surprising human beings. Knowing this will give you a much better perspective to better value DPA, and maybe you will understand that TW is not just a band of talented girls who make good songs… No, it's about music, really art with the brilliance of a "masterpiece" created and performed by three genius performers from an early age who have been developing and evolving by leaps and bounds. The beauty of their art lies in its simplicity. Each of these amazing rock masterpieces must be appreciated in all its dimensions and then be surprised again that they are creations of those who have wonderful talent but who, due to their age, still have much more talent to develop. They are already admirable but their potential increases exponentially as they achieve success. As long as all this continues to flow with this equation they will soon reach the top of the world where they deserve to be. We're always looking for more from our favorite band of all time. Thanks and regards from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
Like others mentioned, they were still pretty young, and yet had the impetus to write something as deep as this! Nice breakdown of the lyrics! You get 'IT". A good follow-up to XXI Century Blood, is their recent hit, Disciple. The music video is amazing and they even had some of the 'Warning Army' members as extras in the video! Their live performances are not to be missed either, as they really shine in font of a live audience. Any of the Teatro Metropolitan pro-shot videos from their channel are prime material for reaction videos!🤩👍👍
Their best music videos are, in my opinion, 'Disciple' and 'Martirio'. Also if you want some more sublime Pau vocals, I highly recommend the live versions of '23' and 'Revenant' from the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX show.
Very good!! You really nailed what the girls were saying. Come for the music. Stay for the lyrics. The intelligence of The Warning is beyond amazing. Especially considering their age. ALL their music has an important message. Think for yourself. Do your own research. Don't believe everything you see or hear on the internet.
It is funny. You should check out any of the songs by Nightwish. Their lyrics are so involved, you need to google many words to understand the story of the songs. Words not often used in day to day conversations. But understanding just how they tie the story together is amazing. THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH is a prime example of Nightwish.@@MrJest2
i always wonder how many others notice the number on the indoctrination pod the baby is placed into... many of us think it may be a shout out to YES and their 1983 album 90125 which was released two years after Yes broke up... you can find a few links to that album in its entirety... not really a music video as it is only the music... it is a great trip back in time... oh! the MV for the first song on that YES album also has a similar theme with culprits and recovery agents... so back to this video... yes, the imagery is awesome and extremely thought provoking... there's a lot being said in there... one of the main things is about taking a leap of faith and leaving things behind... the video was nominated for and won numerous awards back in 2017... - LA CINEFEST Semifinalist 2017 - Feel The Reel IFF, Audience Award October 2017 - Official Selection Austin Music Video Festival 2017 - Best Music Video Nominee Pantalla de Cristal Festival 2017 - I Filmmaker International Film Festival Official Selection 2017 - Best Script / Narrative Music Videos Pantalla de Cristal Festival 2017 - Best Music Video Around Films International Film Festival Barcelona April 2017 (not listed in any specific order) great reaction!! you really hit the nail on the head! yes, you're not the only one to be totally shocked at that one point in the video! 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
the all-female rock group , called The Warning, for my taste is a rare mix of legendary rock groups like Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett and the black hearts and Heart. greetings from Mexico.
An incredibly great and catchy song, especially when you think of their ages when they wrote it. And ... I hear strong MUSE vibes. Then again, the guitar solo is so 80s.
Thank-you for doing this. This is a song that just BEGS for millions more views. These kids are wise way beyond their years, especially considering when they made this. Genius level lyrics combine with a passionate rock tune and symbolic visuals to tell a very relevant story of the dilemma presented to us by our media-driven existence. I'd bet Pau had just read some books like *Animal Farm,* *Brave New World,* and *1984,* when she wrote this. Kids like these give Boomers like me hope that my kids (25, 25, and 33) are going to be all right.
"You can't stop the signal Mal." - Mr. Universe, Serenity. Bottom line, the truth will always be revealed. Can you believe they wrote this as very young teens? Absolutely brilliant song with lyrics far beyond their years...but that's just who they are. For fun, look for them playing this acoustically as they did press for the album years ago. Even stripped down, it'll blow you away. Great reaction!
Watching your facial expression change as the guy steps forward and sticks his toes over the edge of the roof. ... ... ... You obviously enjoyed the guitar solo, and then you mutter almost under your breath "Is he gonna jump?" (I saw your lips move, but wasn't certain you actually said it until I went back and listened again.) There is obviously a lot running through your head, and it shows on your face, for the next minute and a half. They packed quite a lot into a six minute music video. Speaking of lyrics, the messages on the guy's phone, just before it shuts off, are the lyrics to the song. The video was crowdfunded, so I am guessing that Nature's Factory was a sponsor. While technology can be good, and help to connect us, and foster communication. Such as when me, someone from the United States, comments on a video from you, a reactor from Australia, about a music video by a Mexican band The Warning, from 2017. It can also be bad, as evidenced by all the divisive content that is churned out to create confusion, distrust and hatred. The song is a commentary, and warning, about being too complacent, and not using technology wisely. I hope that you have a great day as well. :)
I am astounded I missed this video until today. It looks really expensive. Is there any info on it? Who directed it? Who were the actors? How was it funded?
The musical arrangement for this song, I think works very well to deliver the message. The Warning live up to the name, providing meaningful lyrics and delivering them with their own unique style of rock. I am a proud patreon for The Warning and for Angelina Jordan, a self-taught jazz singer who can sing almost any genre. Angelina is the ultimate singer storyteller. Her genius arrangement of "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a great introduction to her music. I suggest the video with over 93 million views.
One of the great draws for this band is the ability to watch videos of them as kids doing covers in their basement, up through their early stuff like this title track on their first full length album, to the current stuff. I love their music... but it's the ability to watch them grow from "kids rocking in their basement" to "rockstars" that really has me emotionally invested in their journey and success. Long live The Warning!
This video was filmed in there home town in Monterrey Mexico and all the actors were local people, the woman that fell at the end was not related. The guy that was shot by the guys in masks was Abraham Marcos. He was also the director of this video 😊
For this type of dystopian criticism, I think Nightwish's Noise is a better video. Musically, they're too dissimilar to compare. I haven't heard this band before, so I'm glad to have been introduced. I'll have to check out some of their other works.
Totally understand! You should definitely check them out. This was from almost 6 years ago I think? And they write their lyrics, so they were quite young at the time. They definitely continue to expand & grow as musicians, and they just keep rocking harder! (But I’ve also noted the Nightwish song because Nightwish! Thank you!)
