It's quite surprising that many are placing the blame solely on Wiggins for the Golden State Warriors' struggles this season. Yes, he had a rough season and sometimes lacked offensive aggression. However, I'd like to pose these questions to other GSW fans: 1. Should every player on the court always have a ball-first, attack-the-basket mindset? 2. Before writing off Wiggins entirely, shouldn't we consider his role in the team's offensive and defensive philosophies? In my opinion, if the team wanted a consistently aggressive player who constantly attacks the basket, why did they part ways with Kelly Oubre? Additionally, Wiggins' contract is $24 million per year, not over $30 million. Essentially, we're expecting a $24 million player to create offense, guard the opposing team's best offensive player (whether that's a quick guard or a powerful forward), and still provide strong help defense. So what's the responsibility of those earning over $30 million a year? When other high-salary players aren't contributing much to on-ball or help defense while scoring under 20 points per game, it raises questions about where the real issues lie.

It’s not about placing blame it’s about which players are trade assets. 1 Wiggins can’t stay if you want to develop Kuminga. 2. Warriors can’t run a Wiggins, Kuminga and green at the 3-5 again. Wiggins is still young and. Friendly contract

@@Heywonderland Why can't we run Wiggins, Kuminga, and Draymond at the 3, 4, and 5 positions? This lineup has the potential to be the core of a new "death lineup." If Kuminga can develop a better understanding of defensive positioning, these three together can provide solid help defense, on-ball defense, and rim protection. Contrary to popular belief, I don't think Wiggins and Kuminga are in conflict. In fact, it's more likely that Klay's role conflicts with Kuminga's development. If Kuminga is to be "the next one," he needs more opportunities to have the ball in his hands. Since last season, after Klay showcased his four rings to Booker, Wiggins has had far fewer touches. Right now, his offensive role is largely limited to spacing out and going for offensive rebounds. To effectively develop Kuminga, we need to redistribute the ball away from Klay rather than Wiggins, so Kuminga can have enough opportunities to make plays and gain confidence. Another issue this season has been the lack of elite on-ball defense from our guards. Curry, Klay, CP3, and Pod are not top-tier defenders, so they often need to be hidden in matchups. This leaves Wiggins or Kuminga to guard the opponent's offensive guards, which diminishes our size in the paint and compromises our rim protection. When our guards do defend offensive guards, they are often beaten, forcing the weak side to rotate too aggressively, which leads to wide-open three-point opportunities for opponents. In my view, we should allow Wiggins to play for at least another half season to see if there's improvement in his game.

@@henryraccoon Well said, we could even try Wiggins at the 2 spot, That's Steve Kerrs fans talking that Wiggins and Kuminga can't play together, so you move Kuminga to 3 and draymond to 4 and TJD to 5 and the only one you have to help on Defense is Curry and we can work with that.

@@Qjags2 Ultimately, the truth is that this year's playoffs have demonstrated the importance of size and athleticism in guards and wings. Teams that excel in these areas are better equipped to handle the physicality of the postseason. The Timberwolves have been so successful largely because their guards and wings excel at on-ball defense while providing the necessary elasticity to offer help defense. This elasticity, where they can both protect the paint and quickly close out on shooters, is crucial to building an elite defensive team. Wiggins, with his ability to stay in front of both quick guards and powerful forwards, becomes even more valuable as players like Anthony Edwards emerge-a quick and powerful guard with the size of a shooting guard. While Wiggins may not be able to completely lock down Edwards, he is perhaps the best option to contain such players. Kuminga, on the other hand, isn't quick enough to defend agile guards but can effectively match up against powerful wings like LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard. His defensive strengths lie in handling these bigger, more physical players. The right combination of Wiggins and Kuminga can be valuable assets in countering different threats in a highly competitive postseason environment.

@@henryraccoon because the new nba won’t allow for Draymond to run the 5 for a whole season and the spacing between those 3 are horrible. The 2 biggest needs the warriors have is need more shooting and size. The hope is Kuminga can make a transition to the 3 this offseason and Draymond can play his natural position of the 4 but there’s a log jam between he and Kuminga and finding minutes together because of the spacing problems
