I simultaneously do not enjoy playing rain world and really like rain world so when this drops i'll play it and won't have a good time but it's fine because scug and of course the animation is nice n smooth i like that you specify frames used and time taken
IM SO EXCITED I hope the devs will bring something new btw not another "heres some cat and heres an iterator help iterator" ofc if it will be another iterator-centered story Ill still enjoy it but would be cool to see something about ancients or other parts of rw's lore
Yeah, the entirety of downpour was kinda based on the story revolving around the iterators, so I hope this story is either based around something else (such as the remnants of the ancients, etc etc) or if the story is based on the Watcher themself. (but as you put, another iterator story would still be enjoyable!)
@@frostedmoss I think the chance of it being based on something other than iterators is pretty high because there are no iterators on the screenshots from steam!! I wonder if it takes place before or after iterators (or even in some completely other timeline??)
True, though it seems Watcher has some sort of connection to the echoes, as in their trailer, they are depicted as floating in the air, surrounded by ripples, and even has small golden diamond shapes nearby, which are all traits of echoes. There also seems to be a connection between Watcher and the rot, as the trailer also shows their name becoming overgrown with rot. Also something seems to have gone seriously wrong within the world of Rain World, as the steam description for the dlc describes creatures never seen before, as the found beneath as the ground begins to crack and crumble away. (along with one of the steam screenshots having floating stones being part of the environment!)
@@frostedmoss The point of rain world is that the game doesnt revolve around you, you are just a cat in a world of reincarnation. The story was always about the iterators, until rivulet and saint
Y’all I’m so heckin new to Rain World (like haven’t finished the base campaign new) could anyone explain what the Nightcat even IS??? (preferably without many story/lore spoilers if there are any)
Well, nightcat was more an easter egg before the downpour dlc was released, and only appeared as an arena icon for player 4. Nightcat also appeared in some official art for the game too! However, they never *actually* appeared in-game, but the rw community likes to still frequently use them in their fan works of media somewhat. A couple of months ago, we actually managed to get a teaser for a new dlc where they are now referred to as ‘the watcher’. (this is mostly what i remember from my experience and light research over my time playing this game, so if anything is missing, sorry!) oh and sorry for writing such a long response!
a slugcat that only existed to be a fourth player on arena but now theyre gonna be a full new character with the new dlc maybe even more significant than other cats because theyre getting a WHOLE dlc not just a part of Downpour dlc or anything
