although there _is_ a big difference between pH 7 and 9.5, it's not _that_ bad per say. people comparing it to bleach at about pH 12 is not really an reasonable comparison at all, the pH scale is not linear, it's logarithmic; meaning (basically) as the pH increases or decreases away from the neutral point of 7 the corrosiveness increases by a different amount per increment/decrement in pH. in short, comparing "water" of pH 9.5 (it's not water at that point lets be real) to bleach is as silly as comparing vinegar to stomach acid - we all know that vinegar is basically harmless to us, whereas stomach acid dissolves flesh (to an extent), despite the fact that they have very close pH values.

Water is supposed to have a pH of 7, or neutral. 9.5 is basic. 12 is the pH of bleach. So diamond water is halfway between water and bleach

I don't think they realise that the reason the highest ph level of water on the market is 9.5 because any higher is actually dangerous. Alkaline is not a good thing in water, you want it to be at 7. lower is acidic and higher is alkaline, both are unhealthy in their own way.

Eating or drinking something that isn't neutral does absolutely nothing to the pH level of our body. It's utter nonsense that is being used as advertising material for dumb people.

Floris R It's actually basic biology, something you must not be familiar with. You greatly overestimate the pH buffer our body has. Our blood is slightly alkaline and considering that acidity is the main danger on the pH level, slightly alkaline water helps regulate it. I know what you're talking about, you probably think I'm a shill for some water-machine company that advertises alkaline water as being the holy grail of health. My answer is no, alkaline water is no miracle, but scientifically, slightly alkaline water, and I say slightly because 9.5 is bullshit, is better than neutral water and is certainly better than acidic water.

The reason the diamond water is bad is because it is a 9 on the ph scale water is supposed to be 7 what are they doing to that water 9 really that is way to much of a base

Due to the logarithmic nature of pH 9 is not that much more. Some people say a lightly basic solution is better, but this is not completely accepted.

9.5 is basic on the ph scale, meaning that if it tastes/smells like bleach it's because it's closer to bleach than regular water is (water ph is 7, bleach ph is 12).

+Dragomaster3 That's not how pH works. Sodium hypochlorite won't smell anything like other basic materials. Proton concentration won't affect smell. Vomit should have a pH of around 2 right? Well if you pry off the casing on your car battery and sniff it, you won't smell anything like vomit.

If I'm correct, water should only be a ph of 7 because that's the middle of the scale, a ph of 9.5 is a base at that point not even water

It’s alkaline water. Alkaline water and foods are supposed to help with a lot of things but they replay don’t do much at all. It isn’t really possible to entirely change the pH of your body. I suggest watching the video NileRed has on his channel.
