Daphne's vibes changed so much this season actually, it's been a short time since the events of season 1 but she definitely seems more like a duchess now. I just think it's quite nice to see her growth from the innocent pretty little girl in season 1 to this beautiful, mature, and wiser wife and mother in season 2.
I think her vibe started to change already at the end of s1, when she figured out how babies were made and kind of tricked the Duke into do it... inside her. (That's the best way I can't put it lol). The aftermath also showed her in a similar vibe (before the rain scene). Although s2 definitely increased that vibe a whole lot

I think the word you are searching for is coercive reproduction. It’s actually a form of intimate partner violence and it violates consent in so many ways. I liked Daphne far better in season 2, but I can neither forgive nor forget that particular act. It was actually a bit traumatizing to watch.
@hhr her vibe changed when she became a duchess and the woman told her that's she'd snubbed them. Being a duchess and having new responsibilities and learning to unconditionally love her partner, plus not having to answer to her brothers or mother is what changed her. Forcefully trying to make the duke impregnate her was not mature, it was highly immature and toxic, no matter what his reasons or lies her actions were hers alone.
The whole season I just felt incredibly sad for Edwina, I feel like she deserved better. She’s so young and had a certain innocence/naïveté and this was pulled over her head so easily. I heard she was a lot more knowledgeable and strong-willed in the books, that she clearly knew about her sister and Anthony. I feel like the tv version must of made her plain and average as a foil to Kate, to make Kate seem even more “not like other girls” and outstanding than she already was.
That's book Edwina (and a little more bright because she kind of knew that Anthony saw her as a good partner on paper but that he was atractted to Kate) Show Edwina was kind of air head and an Entitled brat.
I definitely liked the book version of this story better. Where Edwina was kinda relieved she didn't have to marry him and then she found somebody else
Edwina didn't like Anthony in the books, she was a bit more of and intellectual and kinda knew something was up. I hate to see hateful comments of her character as like "She was entitled and bratty" cause no, she wasn't. She was basically left at the altar, well she made the decision, but Anthony was the piece of shit in all of this and also Kate who thought Edwina would be better off with a man that didn't love her. The way the series portrayed the book was almost accurate until the proposal then all the character development went down the drain
No, Kate warned her over and over that he didn’t love her, but little miss Edwina though she knew it all and insisted on getting married with Anthony. Kate wanted the best for her sister, even if that meant giving up her own happiness. Anthony wanted to do what was right for his family and didn’t want his bride to suffer the same as his mother did, when is dad died. Miss Aquafina here is clueless and was cruel to Kate with her “half sister” remark.
@@lavacaqueri5454 they are the ones that did Edwina wrong. You can't blame her for wanting her dream because Anthony had been pretending to be exactly what she wanted and she believed him. Kate was never honest with her and all she was saying that he wasn't right for her, all stuff that wasn't backed by proof cause Anthony had been pretending the whole time. Edwina had to realize on the altar that Anthony and her sister loved each other and Anthony proposed to her even after having had all those moments with Kate. I get it that they wanted to add more drama in the show, but they made the two leads, who we're supposed to root for, much less likable than the original.
No, Kate was going to tell Edwina about her feelings but got interrupted first by Anthony proposing and then by Edwina blurting out that she loves Anthony. She wasn't going to stand in her beloved sister's way after that. She even tells Anthony in the woods that their feelings will pass (at least his will) and that Anthony will go back to wanting Edwina again like he did in the beginning. I do agree that the majority of the blame falls on Anthony, whose actions were really cruel towards both sisters. Honestly, Simone and Jonathan's insane chemistry saved this season because the love "triangle" was the worst and almost tainted the whole season for me. The writers really shortchanged Kate's character - she just stands there and takes everything thrown at her and never got her moment to truly express herself to anyone. The love between the sisters was all one-sided. Edwina didn't care that Dorset was a setup by Anthony to get to her. Her response to learning that is to be flattered that Anthony wanted to spend time with her. The Sheffields insult Kate's parents and both Edwina and Mary's response is to immediately jump on her, uncaring of what she's feeling. They sure didn't care that Kate was bending herself backwards for them as long as things were running smoothly. Ugh, they really did the Sharmas dirty.

Literally almost all characters are likable in the books and their mistakes make them humans with flaws, in the show they all seemed kind of selfish except for Kate (although I still think her decision of begging Anthony to marry her sister was wrong, they should have been honest and let Edwina decide)
I feel like Eloise would make a great diamond of the season, who knows the queen was probably considering it since she’s beautiful, a Bridgerton, her sister was the last diamond, and! Based on Eloise personality, I think no. Though she is really beautiful and could be like her sister Daphne but Eloise is just not suitable for those things. She wants to fly and do all things that she can't do just because she's a woman. And women that time don't have the same oppurtunity that men has.

Actually she was. The queen chose her bc (1) there was a 0% of her being Lady Whistledown since she was new to London and (2) because the Queen had realized that Lady Whistledown was part of the Ton/higher up rich people (bc Lady Whistledown wrote about everything that happened at the parties and balls and stopped writing when the season ended and the Ton resided in the Countryside) and that Lady Whistledown would try to become associated with Edwina to get the scoop. This meant that the queen’s spies/guards could report back to her everyone (women) who was associating themselves with Edwina. The Queen’s attempt was a good one, but it didn’t have the best execution because she accused Eloise when it was actually Penelope.
Micro bangs was the style in the regency era. I actually appreciate these little nods to real history even though the show is a blend of historical and fantasy. It shows the costume/hair/makeup designers do know the authentic look and are deviating from it for artistic effect which gives the show more credibility.

@@chandlerbingg Daphne and the duke initially couldn't stand each other but pretended to be in love in order to make her other suitors jealous, just to end up falling in love for real. Now Anthony and Kate initially couldn't get along but suddenly they are spending all day long together.
Daphne, Lady Danbury, and Lady Bridgerton all knew!! And honestly, if you are a sensitive person and good at reading the room, you will know these things. Unfortunately, sometimes you don't see what you need to see when you're the one in it.
Yeah especially that in season one he said he can stand them staying in separate rooms but separate places is no discussion, so i don't think they will be able to stay away from each others all that time and many times ,unless their love changed.

I’m still flabbergasted that Edwina thought her marrying Anthony would be a love match. despite him basically saying that he doesn’t feel passion for her, he doesn’t love her, but that he will be dutiful and fulfill his role and that he wants to marry her because she’d be good as a viscountess. She played herself and wanted to shift the blame onto her sister. The reality is she just liked the fact that Anthony is a titled and good looking guy and she made herself believe she was in love.
Sorry but unlike movies, when people say they hate someone they're actually often believed so she thought she hated him like she SAID she did, that and as someone with an older sister I would hope she would be honest with me it's actually why I really don't like Kate constantly babying her slightly younger sister
It happens more often than not; similarly, I didn’t know my cousin was with my then Ex fiancé. I trusted her and found out the worst way possible. I cut her out of my life. She’s tried to get in contact but I will not budge. Had no idea this was happening and it really gutted me. Which is why I don’t like S2 of Bridgerton, Edwina was basically me- her character resonated with me, especially when she found out about the betrayal.

If there's even a possibility that my sister likes someone I will treat him as a family or my brother or at least someone that I will respect and maintain some distance. I know my sister will do the same. So obviously if I was Edwina, I will never suspect anything unless one of them told me something. And Kate was acting like she hated Anthony.
They definitely took the innocence away from Edwina. She is now a grown woman, capable of thinking and making her own decisions. I'm just really sad for her, she deserved the whole world.😕

Spoilers: So I watched season 2 a bit after it was released, and basically here is the context: Eduina’s older sister (the small chick) had been introduced in the second or possibly first episode. Anyways, her and the viscount (Daphne’s brother) met in a forest, starting to race. Ever since that, they had built a connection secretly. The viscount showed little to no affection to Eduina, and their chemistry only appeared on their wedding day (Eduina’s and the viscount). A few days earlier, Daphne knew about this from the way he was behaving, this why the video said “they way she knew.”
actually edwina is that petite curly girl which is the younger sister, calm and harmless suitable for being easy bride for viscont, her older sister is much more different and have a more sharpe character&charm viscont fell in love with older ( which is hunting with him), the younger girl is just blind 😃 can not understand their tension and love until wedding ceremony
I was shocked at how little the duke and Daphne were in s2 I know that they were doing stuff but they were the MAIN PLOT of s1. Could’ve at least had a few minutes an episode where they actually interacted
Daphne’s dress in the scene is full of lavender and that color is the color of love according to the costume designer so she knew from the beginning that they would get married
Edwina not knowing that there is something going on between her sister and the viscount proves she's still young and not ready to marry. She's innocent which is cute for me lol. I hope she finds a man that will truly love her. The Queen wants to introduce the prince to her so I'm hoping
Daphne should be like : “ do you like my relationship with the duke? That’s exactly what your sister will have with my brother and all thanks to your so called plan”
