Visited here on the hunt for the same thing but left it a bit late in the day so tide was against us 😅 weather looks the same though as it did back then in May but with less wind and people on the beach by the looks of it but always stunning. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
The carving of the lady’s face on the rock is believed to of been done in 1920 by Joseph prater, after is love and her horse were drowned when they were cut of by the tide. He also carved this poem in the rock. “Mar not my face, but let me be. Secure in this cavern by the sea. Let the wild waved around me roar! And kiss my lips for ever more”. Poly joke! May come from the cornish pol- Lejouack meaning Jackdaw pond. May be a revisit on better day mate! Sound like an interesting place!👍
If you look at 4.16 on your video, the lady looks as if she is looking at the carvings. They are in that small cave on the sloping side facing away from the sea, but only just inside that right side and about eight feet up. Polly Joke was disappointing this year for the poppies at West Pentire but it's always worth a visit. 😊
